Hu Die felt something warm wrap around her. She was then lifted into the air as she felt a force pushing her somewhere. The pain that was in her chest was now gone. She tried to open her eyes, yet she could not. She tried to move but it was useless. ‘Where am I going?’ she thought. She tried to speak yet her mouth would not open. She tried fighting against the force but nothing worked, so she gave up and relaxed her body. Hu Die felt calmer and she smiled as she felt the wind rush past her face. Then, she felt herself falling. She panicked and tried to squirm but like before, her efforts were in vain. She braced herself for the pain, but no pain came. Instead, she felt herself being set down gently into something warm, yet she did know what it was.

“Ah!” a woman cried out loud from the kitchen of a small tattered down house. The woman had light grey skin, white hair, and blue eyes but nonetheless she was still beautiful dark elf with her big light blue eyes, tall nose, and thin lips. She was sweating heavily with her hand on her round stomach. “Ah!” she let out a yelp.
Outside the house was an ugly troll. The troll had muscular short limbs with a round belly, swamp green skin, and five strands of hair on his head. His short ears perked up and when he heard the scream again, he dropped the firewood he was holding and ran inside the house.
“Yo Mei!” the hideous creature ran to the beautiful elf, “Are you alright? What’s wrong? Is the baby hurt?” he blurted out.
“Chou, today is the day. Hurry up and get a midwife!” Yo Mei said through clenched teeth. Chou stood there frozen on spot at what he just heard. He had waited a whole year for this child. Usually a child borne from a troll and a dark elf take only ten months to be born but this child did not come at the ten month mark. Chou was worried that his child might’ve died, or that something worse had happened. Yo Mei looked at her husband’s face and although she was happy for him, the pain in her abdomen made her angry.
“Why are you standing there like an idiot?! Hurry up!” she yelled. Chou finally snapped out of it and ran out of the house as fast as he could, which wasn’t very fast due to his legs being short and muscular. Yo Mei couldn’t help but smile at her idiotic husband, however she soon groaned at the contractions. Chou returned shortly afterwards with the midwife as Yo Mei laid on the kitchen floor.
“Honey!” Chou yelled as he ran towards her, sweat dripping down his wrinkled and rough skin. He picked her up slightly as she groan in pain. “What do we do?!” he asked the midwife, Po Lu Ye. Po Lu Ye was an expert at helping woman at childbirth for she had done for over thirty years. She ran up to Yo Mei and placed her hand over Yo Mei’s chest to feel her chi energy. She sighed in relief as it wasn’t anything serious like she thought it to be. Usually when a child is born this late the mother will be in danger but Yo Mei did not seem to be in any immediate danger. Still, she was worried as she had never helped delivered a half bred child between a dark elf and a troll.
“Sir Du, please carry her to the bedroom,” Lu Ye instructed. Despite being short, Chou still had a lot of strength thanks to being a troll. He easily picked up Yo Mei who was twice his size, trying to be as swift and gentle as he could. He walked to their bedroom and placed her on the bed. Lu Ye took a piece of cloth and folded it before placing it into Yo Mei’s mouth.
“Bite on this darling,” she said softly as Yo Mei grunted in pain. Lu Ye turned back to Chou.
“Go get the other midwives, tell them that I will need help delivering your child,” she ordered Chou. Chou looked at his wife with worry before nodding and running out. Lu Ye boiled some water and not long after the other midwives appeared.
They all worked to prepare anything necessary for the childbirth of Chou’s child. Chou has helped and contributed to the village they live in more than anyone else. At first they were scared of the troll, but after seeing how he helped out the village everyone came to like him. Chou helped build the houses of the village, pave the roads, and also helped with farming. Yo Mei also contributed to the village. When she first arrived everyone thought she was there to murder them and rob them of their goods because she was a dark elf. However, she helped killed beasts lurking around the village keeping the village safe. She also help trained the guards of the village and became an important figure for the village. Despite being a dark elf, she had many requests for her hand in marriage. Nobody in the village at that time would have expected that she would end up with Chou.

When all the preparations were done the baby was ready to come into the world. Lu Ye told Chou to wait outside as she, along with the other midwives, helped deliver the baby. Two pieces of cloth were hanging down from the ceiling as Yo Mei pulled on them to help her deliver the baby.
“Push darling, I know how hard it is but you must push!” Lu Ye encouraged Yo Mei, “come on, the baby is almost here!” Yo Mei bit down on the piece of cloth as she pulled on the cloth hanging from the ceiling. ‘Please let this child be born healthy and alive! For the sake of Chou, please let this child be born! Even if it takes away my life, please let this child be born!’ Yo Mei screamed inside her head.

Hu Die could feel herself shrinking. She did not know where she was but then she felt the cold air on her skin, and someone’s hand grab her. She slightly open her eyes and saw a bunch of old women in a worn out room. From their attire she could tell they were midwives. ‘Where am I?’ she thought to herself. Then she felt someone slap her behind. ‘Ouch!’ she frowned.’Why is someone slapping my butt? It hurts!’ She listened to her surroundings.
“Why isn’t the baby crying? Is it dead?” she heard a women ask. ‘Well slap it’s butt!’ Hu Die thought. Hu Die herself was also a Healer. She also had experience in helping in childbirth. She felt another slap on her butt.
‘Ouch!' she thought again. ‘Why does someone… wait… what if I am…’ Hu Die open her mouth and let out a cry. She then saw the midwives in the room all rejoice.
“The baby is alive! It’s not dead!” they started cheering. Hu Die then felt herself being wrapped with a piece of cloth before she felt herself being passed to someone.
“Here is your daughter, Yo Mei.” Lu Ye passed the baby over to Yo Mei. Yo Mei held the baby in her arms. Tears stream down her face as she examine her baby’s face. Hu Die upon seeing Yo Mei stopped crying out of anger. She has seen those familiar blue eyes before, that grey skin, and that white hair. ‘Lan Hei Kong!’ Hu Die screamed inside. She tried to wriggle out, but being in a baby’s body she could barely move.
“My baby,” she heard the female dark elf softly say. Hu Die frozed before she watched the female lean down and place her lips on Hu Die's forehead. At this moment, she realized that something was different. ‘Have I been… reborn?’ she thought to herself. She looked up at this dark elf and she realized that the dark elf’s eyes held no hostile intention. She realized that this dark elf was not Lan Hei Kong, the man who killed her, but was a woman.
“Chou!” she heard the dark elf call out, “come see our child!” Hu Die heard footsteps approaching.
“My baby!” she heard a low voice cry out. Hu Die then heard the midwives giggling before she felt herself being passed over to someone.
Soon an ugly face came into Hu Die's view. The face had wrinkled rough green skin, small pointy eyes, a small round nose, big lips, and five strands of hair at the top of his head. Hu Die had heard of trolls before but this was her first time meeting one. She knew that trolls would eat their young if they weren’t satisfied with their child’s physique. Usually Hu Die would be compose and not scared, however as a defenseless baby in the hand of a troll she was scared out of her wits. Then the troll’s lips approached her.

Chou stared down at his daughter with loving eyes, though to bystanders it will look as if he was looking at a meal. He was glad that his daughter took after his mother more than him as she had soft dark grey skin, and white hair. His daughter did get his red eyes, however her eyes were more round than slanted. His daughter also had a big white birthmark starting at the top of forehead, covering her right eye, and then ending halfway down her right cheek. Nonetheless Chou thought that his daughter was the most beautiful thing that he has ever seen. Just as Chou leaned his head in to give her a kiss, she started to cry uncontrollably.
