Yo Mei tucked Yu Lin in. Yu Lin stared at her mother’s face. For the last three years that she had been born, she had always thought that her mother’s beautiful face looked familiar but she couldn’t tell who she looked like. Those big eyes, that nose, and those lips looked very familiar to her. The only dark elf Yu Lin knew in her past life was Lan Hei Kong, so she knew that her mother didn't resemble him but someone else.
“Mama. Do you have any siblings or relatives?” Yu Lin pretended to yawn. A look of sadness flashed across Yo Mei’s for a second and then got replaced by a smile.
“I do. Why do you ask?”
“Just, I never hear about your or dad talking about anyone except for each other.” Yu Lin felt a sting of pain as she thought of Shan Qi Long. Yo Mei chuckled.
“That’s cause your dad and I are really in love with each other. Now go to sleep my daughter.” Yo Mei kissed her on the forehead before leaving the room. Yu Lin waited until she heard her parents snoring and then got out of bed. She sat on the ground and started to practice the Shan Clan’s Energy Balance technique.
‘It’s strange. Why do I feel as if I have leveled up?’ Yu Lin could feel that her chi energy had become stronger. She felt as if she broke through five levels of the Bronze rank. Usually it took a person up to three months to break through five levels of the Bronze rank, and then another three to completely break through the Bronze rank. ‘Was the Kula root really that powerful?’ Yu Lin was confused however she knew that nothing strange had happened to her until she took the Kula roots. After she took thirty minutes she stood back up.
Yu Lin started to practice the third form of The Eight Forms of Yin and Yang. When she practice the forms she would only practice it physically, not releasing any chi energy from her body. Out of all the forms Yu Lin liked the third form the most. This was because the third form held a special memory for her.
Hu Die was wearing a completely white dress with red stains. She had cut on her right cheek, and there were also cuts on her body. She was deep in the forest near a waterfall. She could’ve been attacked by a demon beast but she could care less. She was practicing the third form of The Eight Forms of Yin and Yang. The first three forms required flexibility from its user and it was like dancing an elegant dance. Due to this, the majority of people who practiced The Eight Forms of Yin and Yang would be females. The third focused completely on utilizing the Yin’s power. One could say that out of all the three dances, the third one was the hardest yet the most elegant and beautiful. Hu Die had sweat slowly trailing down her pale white skin. She looked beautiful with her black hair and dress blowing in the wind. She moved her slender arms slowly and turned her body with the toes on her right foot as her left leg was lifted up behind. Hu Die was almost done when she heard a rustle from the bushes.
“Who is there?!” She sharply said as she stopped. She picked up her sword with her hand on the handle. “Come out!” She looked around for any sudden movements. Suddenly, she saw a handsome boy come out from behind the bushes. The young man had beautiful blue eyes and his long black hair was tied up in a pony tail. “Who are you? A pervert?” Hu Die hissed.
“What?” The boy scoffed. “A pervert? Me? Are you crazy?” The boy said as if she was being ridiculous. Hu Die squinted her eyes.
“Alright. Let’s say you aren’t a pervert still, why are you here and who are you?” Hu Die coldly said.
“Haha!” The boy laughed. “How can you be rude? Haven’t you heard that if you wanted to know the name of someone that you should introduce yourself first?!” The boy shouted. Hu Die hesitated.
“My name… Hu Die… Li Hu Die.” She said quietly. The boy looked shocked for a second and then mockingly laughed.
“You are that Li Hu Die? Haha! People must’ve been exaggerating on your beauty when they talked about you.” The boy started to laugh hysterically. Hu Die got slightly annoyed not at the fact that the boy offended her, but at the fact that he was trying to change the subject.
“I have already introduced myself. It’s your turn!” She yelled. The boy stopped laughing and smirked.
“Why should I tell you who I am?” he hissed. Hu Die pulled out her sword.
“Answer me if you still value your life.” She tried to intimidate him. He let out a laugh.
“What are you going to do to me? You got your chi center shattered. There’s nothing you can to me. I could bury you here right now and no one would ever know.” The boy hissed glaring at Hu Die. Hu Die lowered her sword. She looked at the boy with no expression in her eyes.
“Can you really do it? Can you really bury me here?” She said.
“Why? Do you want to die?” He asked. Hu Die looked the young man straight into his eyes.
“If I say yes, will you help me?” She said. Her clear eyes looked expressionless. They both stared at each other for a long time before the boy laughed.
“Sorry but I am not interested in killing anyone.” He said. “Also, you really shouldn’t treat your own life like that.” The boy turned and started to walk away. He then paused and turn back to look at Yu Lin. “The name’s Shan Qi Long.” He said before continuing to walk away.
“Shan Qi Long... I will remember it.” Hu Die said.
Yu Lin moved her arms slowly as she was reminisced about the past. That was her first meeting with Qi Long. At that time she never thought that their relationship would have developed into love. This time instead of sweat dripping down her face, tears streamed down slowly.
After Yu Lin was done with practicing her martial arts she sat on her bed going over the events of the day in her head. She took a long time calculating the change of her chi center as she didn’t have any pencil or paper. After about thirty minutes she finally reached her conclusion. Based on her assumptions, her chi center grew twice its original size today because of the Kula roots. Although her chi center grew twice in size, her chi energy grew quadrupled times its original amount. She hypothesized that this happened because of the two different energies running through her.
Although Yu Lin somehow managed to merge the two energies together to create one energy, she still had two energies in her body nonetheless. The Kula root did its job by expanding her chi center, but also separately doubled the amount of chi energy to both of the energies in her body. This was the reason why she was in so much pain earlier. Due to the fact that both the energies were growing twice their amount while still merging together to become one energy which caused her to be in extreme pain. The only thing she couldn’t understand was that if this did happen, then her chi center would just be full and fine as it will make up the same quantity, however it overfilled.‘I am going to have to tell this to both my mother and the chief one way or another.’ She thought. After thinking the whole thing through and coming up with a pretty plausible theory, except for one flaw, Yu Lin was extremely tired and quickly fell asleep.
Yu Lin sat at the kitchen table. Her mom gave her a bowl of food and they began to eat.
“Where papa?” Yu Lin asked with her eyebrows raised. Yu Lin was required by Yo Mei to speak to her in elf language whenever they were alone together. Same thing with Chou, she was required to speak the troll language.
“Papa is busy working and because it is quite a walk from home, papa is sleeping with his friends.” Yo Mei said. Yu Lin nodded and continued eating. It was a known fact that races with red chi energy were extremely good at building and making things. “How was it visiting Chu Hon-- no grandpa’s home?” Yo Mei almost addressed Chief Chu incorrectly. Usually when she talked about Chief Chu, she would be talking about him with her husband and therefore always used his full name. Yo Mei didn’t want Yu Lin to just start calling Chief Chu informally. Yu Lin dropped her spoon.
“What did you say mama?”
“How was it visiting grandpa’s home?”
“No the name. You said a name.”
“What? Ah! I accidently said grandpa’s full name.”
“What is grandpa’s full name?” Yu Lin looked at her mother.
“Why? You can’t start calling him by his name Yu Lin. You have to be respectful.” Yo Mei sternly said.
“I know but, what is his name? I just want to know.” Yu Lin asked innocently. “In the future when people say his name, I will know who they are talking about. Do you just want me to know him as grandpa?” Yu Lin blinked her eyes. Yo Mei sighed. Yo Mei knew that kids could be rash and she didn’t want Yu Lin to start calling Chief Chu by his name, but she also knew that Yu Lin was a respectful child.
“I will tell you but, you can’t never, ever, refer to him by his full name! Do you understand?” Yo Mei said in a serious tone. Yu Lin nodded.
“I understand.”
“Ok. Grandpa’s full name is Chu Hong Hu.” Yo Mei said. Yu Lin nodded. ‘Chu Hong Hu. Why does name sound so familiar?’ She thought.
“Grandpa’s name uses pretty characters.” Yu Lin blankly said. Yo Mei looked at Yu Lin confused. Yo Mei has been teaching Yu Lin the human writing language for some time, as well as the elf’s, however she didn’t get as far as difficult character such as name characters. Elves liked to teach their children when their children are at a young age. This is because and elf would develop faster than a human being. She knew that Yu Lin learned at a very rapid speed however she didn’t think that Yu Lin would understand something she hadn’t taught yet.
“How do you my daughter? How do you know grandpa uses strong characters?” Yo Mei asked. Yu Lin froze for a second before opening her mouth.
“You taught me.”
“Me? I don’t remember teaching you anything about difficult characters. I have only taught you easy characters.”
“Of course you had. Otherwise how would I know the meaning behind grandpa’s name?” Yu Lin quickly said. Yo Mei was confused but nodded her head. After all how could her three year old daughter know something if she didn’t teach it to her?
“Anyways, how was it visiting grandpa’s home?” Yo Mei went back to the original topic.
“It was fun. I got to meet his son and his grandson.” Yu Lin began eating again.
“Son? Which one?”
“The oldest one.” Yo Mei had a surprised look on her face. Yu Lin looked up to see why her mother had gone quiet. “What’s wrong mama?” Yu Lin asked.Yo Mei snapped out of it and shook her head.
“Nothing. How was he?”
“Mama you know him?”
“Of course! We used to hunt huge beasts together!” Yo Mei answered smiling.
“He brought a pretty lady home with him. They are going to get married.” Yu Lin never really heard of her mother’s relationship with anyone except her father.
“About time he got one!” Yo Mei was laughing happily. “I will have to go visit him one of these days.”
Yo Mei picked up her and Yu Lin’s bowl. She then went outside and proceeded to wash them. Yu Lin watched her mother. Yu Lin couldn’t put her finger on it but her mother looked very similar to someone she had seen before. Yu Lin followed her mother outside and watched as her mother washed the plates.
“Mama who are your siblings or relatives and where are they?” Yu Lin stood next to Yo Mei. Yo Mei paused for a second before continuing to wash the dishes.
“My daughter is growing up so fast. She asking so many questions these days.” Yo Mei tried to avoid the topic.
“Why aren’t you answering me?” Yu Lin frowned. Yo Mei sighed before stopping. She wiped her hands on her apron and turned to look at Yu Lin. She cupped Yu Lin’s face with one hand and with the other she brushed away her hair.
“My daughter listen to me closely. Don’t worry about learning about my family or your dad’s family for now, alright? When you grow older your dad and I will tell you all about it so right now just focus on your studies and taking care of you body, ok?” Yo Mei looked at her daughter with gentle yet firm eyes.
“Ok mama. I understand, but promise to tell me in the future ok?” Yu Lin had no other choice.
“Promise.” Yo Mei patted Yu Lin’s head. “Now go back inside the house. I will come after I finish washing these dishes.” Yu Lin nodded.
She turned around to go back inside, but before she did she looked at the scenery in front of her. Yu Lin had always wondered why her parents lived quite a distance from the actual village. Their house was located under a tree, on a hill, with the village below them. If they ever wanted to go to the market it would take a 10 minute walk. Yu Lin had a lot of questions for she was always a curious person. She just figured that she would have to learn them in the future.
Yo Mei put the dishes away and prepared to give Yu Lin her lesson of the day when there was a knock on the door. Both of them were confused as they usually didn’t have any guest come visit them. Yo Mei looked into the peephole and her eyebrows rose. She opened the door and Chief Chu was standing outside.
“Good afternoon Mrs. Du.” Chief Chu gave her a smile. Yo Mei gave him a bow.
“Good afternoon Chief Chu. Come inside.” Yo Mei welcomed him. Chief Chu sat at the kitchen table as Yo Mei prepared him tea.
“Why are you here grandpa?” Yu Lin asked. Chief Chu just looked at her and smiled.
“You will find out soon Yu Lin.” Chief Chu answered. Yu Lin frowned but didn’t say anything else. After Yo Mei served him tea she sat down across from him with Yu Lin sitting on her lap.
“What is your business for coming here Chief Chu?” Yo Mei asked, worried.
“Mrs. Du I have to tell you something important.” Chief Chu stopped smiling. He had a serious expression on his face.
“What is it?”
“I am not sure if Yu Lin has told you or not, but yesterday she faced a very dangerous situation.” Chief Chu looked at Yu Lin. Yu Lin slowly looked away and frowned. She only remembered the incident before she fell asleep. Yo Mei looked down at Yu Lin and shook her head.
“Why didn’t you say anything?” Yo Mei looked down at her daughter.
“I didn’t want to worry you mama.” Yu Lin lied. Yo Mei shook her head but then looked back up to Chief Chu.
“What happened?”
“Well, it was a very confusing situation but her chi energy started to rise. When I checked her chi center, it grew twice its size. I didn’t know how or why it happened.”
“That’s strange. It’s never happened before.” Yo Mei couldn’t think of what may had caused it.
“The bitter drink mama. The bitter drink you gave me yesterday. After I drank it my tummy started hurting.” Yu Lin rubbed her stomach. Yo Mei and Chief Chu’s eyes widen.
Stolen story; please report.
“Is that true Yu Lin?” Chief Chu asked. Yu Lin nodded.
“What does that mean Chief Chu?” Yo Mei frowned. “I thought that the medicine was suppose to help her.”
“I don’t understand it either. Could it be because Yu Lin is still young and her chi center is still growing?”
“I heard of other kids taking the medicine too though, to pass the test when they are ten.”
“That’s right… well then what could be the cause?” Chief Chu furrowed his eyebrows. Yo Mei also sighed and looked like she was deep in thought. Yu Lin couldn’t blame them because it took her a while to come up with a plausible theory.
“Baking!” Yu Lin blurted out. Yo Mei flinched startled. Chief Chu got startled too.
“What about baking my daughter?” Yo Mei wasn’t really paying attention.
“You know, in baking when you have to make a lot, don’t you double the ingredients for everything?”
“Yeah. I know.”
“But in the end it just becomes one big ingredient! It really fun to bake!” Yu Lin tried to give them a hint.
“Yea.” Yo Mei just answered not really caring. Chief Chu thought about what Yu Lin said and a light bulb went off in his head.
“What if, like what Yu Lin just said with baking, her chi center also doubled everything?” Chief Chu exclaimed excitedly.
“What do you mean?”
“Think about it Mrs. Du. It wouldn’t make sense if the chi center just doubled right? If the chi center just doubled, then to fill it up wouldn’t the chi energies have to get doubled too?” Chief Chu had a big smile on his face. Yo Mei thought about it for a second and then widened her eyes at the realization.
“That’s right!” She got happy thinking that they solved the solution, but then she frowned. “But wouldn’t everything be able to fit inside the chi center then? Why was there an excess of chi energy?” Yo Mei asked. Yu Lin was also curious about this. Chief Chu thought for a second and then looked at Yo Mei.
“What if the purple chi energy also got doubled?”
“What do you mean?”
“It’s like this Mrs. Du, your daughter has two different chi energy running through her, however the energy together created this new purple energy. What if the Kula root thought the new energy that was created was just its own substance and doubled the new chi energy that was already there? Then there would be an access running out.” Chief Chu said. ‘That makes a lot of sense.’ Yu Lin thought. She didn’t look at it like that because she forgot that she had two energies running through her to form the one purple energy. Yo Mei thought about it and nodded.
“That would make the most sense.” She agreed. Chief Chu also nodded his head.
“Anyways, I think you should refrain from giving Yu Lin any Kula roots for now Mrs. Du.”
“I understand.”
“I just have another matter to bring up to you.” Yo Mei raised her eyebrows.
“What is it Chief Chu?” She asked. Chief Chu cleared his throat. He pulled out the chi energy stone and set it on the table. Yo Mei and Yu Lin watched as the purple chi energy swirling around the stone. “Is this Yu Lin’s chi energy?” Yo Mei looked up at Chief Chu. Chief Chu nodded.
“That is right.”
“But, how did it get in the chi energy stone? Did Yu Lin put it in here herself?” Yo Mei asked surprised. Chief Chu shook his head.
“No. I put it in there.”
“What?! How? If you really did transfer the chi energy through your body then your chi center could be severely damaged! Are yo-”
“I am fine Mrs. Du.” Chief Chu interrupted her. Yo Mei was in disbelief. She didn’t understand how Chief Chu could be fine. “I also don’t know Mrs. Du, but I believe that your daughter has neutral chi energy.”
“Tha- that- that impossible.”
“But it is possible Mrs. Du. Your daughter right there is proof of it.” Chief Chu tried to calm Yo Mei down. Yo Mei was speechless. She was glad that her daughter was not in danger, but she had never heard of this kind of situation before. Yo Mei thought about it for a moment and decided to soak it all in. She needed to stay calm for her daughter. She looked at the chi energy stone and placed her fingers over it, feeling the chi energy. Yo Mei eyes widened. ‘I have sensed this chi energy before. Where?’
“Mrs. Du.” Yo Mei snapped out of her thinking.
“Yes, Chief Chu?”
“I know this may sound a bit much, but would you allow Yu Lin to come stay at my place for a while? At least for three months.” Chief Chu was trying his best to be as careful as possible. He knew elves were overprotective with their young and didn’t want to offend Yo Mei. Even though Yo Mei was not like other elves, she still loved her daughter very much.
“Three months?”
“I’m apologize Mrs. Du. I know this sounds like a long time but I wish to teach her some martial arts, and to study her chi center more. Please allow her to stay with me temporary.” Chief Chu bowed his head. Chief Chu was an honest and earnest person. He was sincerely worried for Yu Lin however a part of him wanted Yu Lin to become his student. This was because Yu Lin was able to defeat He Lan and he knew that He Lan was a skilled swordsman already. Yo Mei didn’t know what to do because Chief Chu personally bowed his head. She could only sigh.
“Teach her martial arts? Yu Lin is still young, I don’t think she will be able to grasp martial arts that quickly.” Yo Mei tried to think of an excuse.
“It may seem that way however I believe your daughter is skilled in the martial arts. It may be due to the blood running through her but she is already the same size as my grandson. Not only that, she is smart and wise beyond her age.” Chief Chu said. He sincerely meant what he said and did not exaggerate anything at all. He truly felt that Yu Lin was extremely talented. Yo Mei was took a while to think.
“I understand. She may come stay with you but let her stay here with me for another week.” She finally replied. Yo Mei knew that doing this would help Yu Lin for the better despite the fact that she would miss her daughter very much. The time it took to get to the Chief’s house by walking was at least an hour, and it was thirty minutes if she ran there. Chief Chu quickly got to their house by his martial arts but Yo Mei did not practice that martial arts. Yu Lin was surprised that her mother did not put up a fight. Yu Lin thought Yo Mei would retaliate but she figured Yo Mei didn’t because it was for her own good.
“Thank you for understanding Mrs. Du. I know this will be difficult for you and Chou but please feel free to visit Yu Lin whenever you want to. I will come and pick her up when the time comes then.” Chief Chu gave her another bow.
“Please don’t bow your head down to me Chief Chu. I am very thankful that you care for Yu Lin as your own granddaughter.” Yo Mei hurriedly said. Chief Chu let out a laugh as he rose his head.
“If I can get a granddaughter that has half the brains of Yu Lin then I would die happy.” He declared. Yo Mei furrowed her eyebrows.
“What do you mean?” Yo Mei asked.
“I mean that your child is very smart and wise for her young age.” Chief Chu continued to chuckled. Yu Lin flashed him a look and he slowly stopped.
“Did something happen yesterday?” Yo Mei got curious. Chief Chu shook his head.
“It’s nothing, just I am surprised at how well she is growing up.”
“Is that so?” Yo Mei looked at the two of them suspiciously but didn’t try to question it any further. “Anyways, would you like to stay for lunch?” Yo Mei asked.
“I would love to stay for lunch Mrs. Du. You make the best meals.” Chief Chu nodded. Yu Lin let out a sigh of relief.
After lunch Chief Chu went back to his home. Yo Mei sighed as she took Yu Lin back inside the house with her. Yo Mei and Yu Lin sat down on the ground. Yo Mei hovered her hand over Yu Lin’s chi center. Yo Mei was scared that if she did this that it might disrupt Yu Lin’s chi center, but for she knew she was going have to do this in the future anyways. She couldn’t keep avoiding it.
“My daughter, if your tummy starts to hurt then you must tell mama right away, ok?” She said. Yu Lin nodded her head. Yo Mei released the tiniest amount that she could of her chi energy inside to check out Yu Lin’s chi center.
Yu Lin could feel her mother’s chi enter her body and she sharply inhaled a breath of air. Yu Lin expected some sort of pain, or uncomfortableness but she felt of that. The only thing she could feel was her mother’s chi energy being reformed and turned into her own energy.
Yo Mei gasp for she was shocked. She quickly moved her hand away. She got shocked at two things that she felt. The first was that her daughter had a 5th Level Bronze Ranked chi center, and the other was that she could feel her blue chi energy turning into her daughter’s purple energy. Yu Lin was extremely shocked as well however she tried not to show it on her face.
“What’s wrong mama?” She asked innocently.
“Nothing my daughter. Nothing.” Yo Mei tried to conceal her feelings. ‘The Kula roots are powerful indeed.’ Yo Mei thought. ‘I guess it is time to teach her what I have been wanting to avoid teaching her.’ Yo Mei looked Yu Lin in the eyes. In Yo Mei’s heart she did not want to let Yu Lin out of her sight, nor did she want to teach Yu Lin any martial arts in fear that Yu Lin’s body would deteriorate. Yo Mei was extremely afraid inside, because she knew there was something worse waiting for Yu Lin in the future. Something that all dark elves must go through..
Seeing the tear slip from her mother’s eye Yu Lin was shocked and felt hurt at the same time. She had never seen her mother cry however she could understand her mother’s feelings. In Yu Lin’s previous life her second child was very sick when he was born. Nobody thought he would be able to make it however Yu Lin did not give up hope. She would often cry embracing her child and reassuring herself that nothing would go wrong. Her child started to get better however she died before seeing him grow. Yu Lin’s heart hurt thinking of him.
“My daughter. Mom is so sorry. Because of mom’s selfishness my daughter has to live like this.” Tears started to stream down Yo Mei’s face. Yu Lin shook her head in her mother’s embrace.
“What are you saying mama? I am very happy. I have a kind and caring father along with a kind and caring mother.” Yu Lin hugged her mother back. Yo Mei smiled at her daughter’s word and she wiped her tears away.
“Thank you my daughter.” She pushed Yu Lin away gently to see her face. “My daughter you are still young but I think it is time for you to learn this.”
“What do I have to learn?” Yu Lin had a feeling she knew what Yo Mei was going to teach her. ‘Is she going to teach me magic?’ Yu Lin thought.
Elves were special in a way that they were the one of the few species who could actually turn their chi energy into a different form of particle. This as call magic. Humans, beasts, orcs, dwarves, and trolls could not use magic. They could only use their chi energy to strengthen their body, store it into items to make the items stronger, or heal wounds. Elves and demon beasts who could use magic could turn their chi energy into something else. For example they could use turn their chi energy into snow, wood, dirt, fire, or water. The list is endless depending on one’s attributes.
Yo Mei smiled as she looked at Yu Lin’s curious face. She lifted her pointer finger up and smiled. A small flame started to hover above Yo Mei’s finger with her chi energy in the space between her finger and the small flame. Yu Lin stared at the flame in awe. Yo Mei giggled at the sight of her daughter.
“My daughter, do you want to learn this?”
“Yes! Please teach it to me mama!” Yu Lin was excited. Yo Mei laughed.
“I got it, now close it your eyes.” Yo Mei gently said. Yu Lin frowned.
“Aren’t you going to teach me a chant mama?” Yu Lin asked.
“Chant? What do you mean my daughter?”
“In the storybooks that papa always reads to me, the elves will teach the other elves a chant if they want to learn a spell. Aren’t you going to do that too?” Yo Mei was shocked that her daughter was so observant, however she shook her head.
“Dark elves are different.” Yo Mei replied. “Dark elves do not things such as word chants, or anything like that my daughter.”
“Then how do I learn this?”
“Like this, it may hurt but bear with it okay my brave daughter?” Yo Mei looked sad for a moment. Yu Lin nodded her head. “Now, close your eyes.” Yo Mei said as she moved all Yu Lin’s hair from her forehead away. With the finger that had the flame on it, Yo Mei pushed the finger on Yu Lin’s forehead. Yu Lin winced as she felt the burning sensation and open her eyes quickly. She was going to yell at her mom but then she suddenly felt it. The information on how to create a fire. Yu Lin looked at her mom with her jaw hanging wide open. Yo Mei gently rubbed the place on Yu Lin’s forehead where she just touched.
“What just happened mama?” Yu Lin asked her mom.
“It’s call dark elf informational chi energy. We are different from the other elves. To protect our spells from getting taken away we have evolved into this method. To learn something you must endure the pain of that magic as it is being casted onto you. After you get the information, it will always stay with you.” Yo Mei answered. ‘It is both a gift and a curse.’ She thought as a sad look flashed across her face. Yu Lin smiled in awe as this meant less memorization for her. She lifted her finger and followed the information she received. She sent the chi energy to her finger and then slowly created a thin line of chi energy before making a huge circle. She imagined a fire and then the flame took form.
“It’s like this.” Yu Lin blurted out as she smiled at the flame she created. Yo Mei widened her eyes as she didn’t expect her daughter to understand the information so quick. When she first got the information to create a flame, it took her over a month to get it correct. Yu Lin was only able to quickly grasp the concept because she was mentally 33 years old, or else she would’ve taken a month like her mother to get it correct. ‘My daughter does learn quick.’ Yo Mei thought. At that moment another thought flashed across her head and she smiled.
“Does my daughter want to learn more?” She asked Yu Lin. Yu Lin nodded her head. ‘I do not know how long this will go, but the more she knows, the better.’ Yo Mei thought as a small ball of water formed from her finger. “I will teach you a couple more things but it may hurt understand?” Yo Mei didn’t want to strain her daughter too much. Yu Lin just nodded and smiled.
The day passed quickly as Yu Lin received her magical information. She learned water, wind, wood, and electricity. It was quite painful for she had to endure the water bursting into her head, the wind that felt like it cut her forehead, the wood that felt like it split her forehead open, and the electricity that shocked her however she wanted to learn more. The chi energy that was turned into informational energy never left a physical mark or damage the body physically. It only caused pain to the one receiving it. It was soon dinner time. After dinner time Yu Lin practiced her magic more with Yo Mei watching and then the sun set.
That night Yo Mei slept with Yu Lin in her room. Since she was going to be quite a distance away she wanted to spend some time with her daughter. Yu Lin didn’t mind it other than the fact that she couldn’t practice the Shan Clan’s Energy Balance technique and The Eight Forms of Yin and Yang. Since she spent most of the day using her chi energy she was exhausted and immediately fell asleep with Yo Mei stroking her hair.
Author's Note: I feel as if the chapters keep getting longer [th_0gotas.gif] [https://forum.royalroadl.com/images/smilies/th_0gotas.gif] . Don't know if this is a good or bad thing... Anyways I couldn't post anything yesterday because I was busy writing about a flashback which ended up being too long so I decided to take it out and may post it as a side story instead. Since school is also starting (was on break) Thanks for reading everyone! :agift: [https://forum.royalroadl.com/images/smilies/4412144b.gif]
P.S. Also if you notice any mistakes please tell me, wrote half the chapter half asleep because I had motivation but I was also super tired. Isn't it weird that motivation comes when you are the most tired? [th_081_.gif] [https://forum.royalroadl.com/images/smilies/th_081_.gif] Anyways thanks for reading again! See you next chapter!
