Chapter 1.A

Chapter 1.A

The red woman approached the Ancestral Hall with a spring in her step and a grin on her lips.

She barely passed through the doors when a silver haired woman materialized in front of her and fisted the front of her dress, shaking her with and enraged expression on her face.

"Long Qi! Where is my son! You sent a message that you found him, so why is he not with you?!"

With a soft chuckle, Long Qi pried Long Xin's fingers from her dress, her superior strength more than capable of doing so.

"Long Xin, you know very well that I would not allow any harm to come to my nephew, so you may calm yourself. I did not bring him back for his own good."

Long Xin fumed.

"His own good?! His own good is to be with me, his mother! You will tel me where he is right this instant!"

Long Qi exhaled a gustily sigh.

"Long Xin, you know very well that in our whole Clan, I am the most accomplished when it comes to Karma, Providence and Fortune. When I say that it's for the good of my nephew to stay away from the Clan for now, that is fact. My own predictions says that he will find his own way back to the Clan in at most a couple of centuries" Waving away her sister's worries, Long Qi continued her walk. "Anyway, I left White Treasure with him, so he will be safe anyway."

Long Xin gasped and stood rooted for a moment, but quickly followed her sister.

"What do you mean you left White Treasure with him?! You two have been together for over fifty thousand years! White Treasure is also an Initial Level Void Grade Artifact, and you said yourself the she was an opportunity for your own breakthrough into the Void Realm!"

Long Qi chuckled softly.

"White Treasure already helped me to prepare myself for my own cultivation, but she said that the only way for her own advancement I would not be able to help her. The only reason she stood with me for so long was that she herself is an accomplished practitioner of Providence and Fortune Dao, and by being with me she would gain her own opportunity to advance. She said that little Hao is her opportunity."

Long Xin froze.

Her son was the opportunity for a Void Grade Artefact to advance?

Was her son really so capable? Or should she say, so lucky?

Meanwhile Long Qi entered the Side Hall to give her report.

There she found her grand-uncle, Long Ze, who looked like a zombie.

Every time she saw him Long Qi felt that she was lucky to have kept herself out of trouble with the Clan, so she was kept out of the administration positions of the Clan.

Dealing with the paperwork of such a large Clan was considered as a low level punishment.

No Dragon worth their scales wanted to spend centuries or millennia behind a desk doing nothing but drudge work.

Long Ze looked at his youngest grand-niece with a pleading gaze, practically pleading for help that he knew no one, not even such a loving family member, would give.

"You took care of the Infiltrator then?" He asked moving around a few jade scrolls, till he found the one dealing with the one pertinent to the current discussion.

Long Qi's expression took on a tone of derision.

"Yes, he is dead and his True Soul extinguished." She shook her head in contempt. "Really, why is there so many that think that our Clan is such an obvious target? There is at least one cultivator a century that tries using a forbidden technique to be reincarnated into one of our eggs, but in the millions of years that our Clan has existed, not once it succeeded, normally going to one of the decoys."

Long Ze made a few marks on the jade scroll and rolled his eyes.

"Samsara Dragons naturally inherit the accomplishments of our past lives, so many that have exhausted their potential think that by being reborn in our Clan they will be able to not only not lose their previous accomplishments, but also improve themselves further. If they are stupid enough to think we have not devised counter measures for such things, it's on them." Putting aside the scroll for future archiving he focused on his grand-niece once more. "So, it seems you left little Hao outside? Are you sure it was a good idea? From the tests, his previous life was a mortal one, so he would have been better off learning from us"

Long Qi waved him off.

"My predictions say that by leaving him where I found him he would at least return to the Clan as an Immortal. And since the predictions also said that he would return in only a couple of centuries? That means that he would be an Immortal before he reaches a millennia old, that is more than enough to prove he is talented"

Long Ze grunted with agreement.

"Long Qi! Come back here! I'm not done with you!" Long Xin stomped into the room.

Long Qi and Long Ze sighed in unison, even if for different reasons.
