Chapter 56 let us walk!

"Ezili Laume Eingana Nerthus Auril, the faery of water, my friend is the next one of the list...

And I cannot tell you what I discovered, she told me to not write about her or bad things will happen!

But no one reads what I write inside my library! I mean... Sure Fate might, from time to time Mother comes and takes some books at random.

The other faery do not come inside my library, it's a respect thing... Our domain should be private.

Ezili Laume Eingana Nerthus Auril, the faery of water is the first friend I could invite inside my library!

Sure, there are visitors that walk through our castle floors but they can only go where they have permission.

Not even the Gladiator visited my library and it stayed with us for a looong time.

Oh right, the Gladiator left. It was recently too, might try to see what they are doing...

Nah, mqybe another time, need to gossip more about my sisters with my friend!"

-Bee May, the faery of knowledge

"Kinda sad I could not write about my friend"

Richard moved fast, he hated to not have time to do the necessary preparations. But orders were orders and apparently this First Hunter is someone that can fight on par with the princess. He was still selfish and reckless, why not go alone? Why bring people with him and put them in danger? By the time night was upon the fort he had already a list of the people that wanted to follow him: All the hunters and scouts wanted to join the young man on his 'walk', most of the villagers and even the kid wanted to join too. He had to request extra soldiers and archers, extra provvisions and carts to move everything and everyone. It was a nightmare, he spoke with Thaddeus a couple of times that day. He even tried to make the princess use her ruling powers to stop Thaddeus comands. His every attempt to stop this walk failed, so he had to do his utmost to salvage the situation. People will die, he was certain of it. How many? That depended on him and the scouts, the scouts that were not his to comand. The village scouts and hunters never obeyed the soldiers, only Thaddeus. They were told to work with him but they were not pleased by that.

Two days later, the morning of the departure Dick was dead tired, he did the possible. Now he just had to hope for the best and be ready for the worst. He called John to his side.

"I will leave the scouts here with you. I know you do not like me and how I operate but remember one thing, we are scouts. We need to get the informations around us and bring them to someone that can make use of them. We NEED to bring them back, we need to stay alive to do so! A dead scout can't save lives, a living scouts with half informations is much better than a dead scout with clear informations. I worked for years under your father. The most important lesson he taught me is that we are all sons and daughters, we all have fathers and mothers. Every single life matters to someone. We scout are unsung heroes, sometimes we are not even remembered but our job is important, it saves lives as much as the best armor!"

"Yes sir!" John saluted "leave the fort to me, just focus on bringing back everyone you can save."

Richard smiled and left to join the men and women that were making a marching line. At the head of the line was the First Hunter and apparently his wife. She was seated on a dropper, it was big, by the icy snorts it made from time to time it was fed with coldstones and often too. She had a two handed sword on her back, a gift from the Princess herself and a bow, the biggest one he saw yet. Apparently their son is a skilled crafter and he used hardwood and the tendons of the moss boar they recently killed to make a bow for his mother. The bow was so strong that no one but the Frist Hunter or the wife could use it!

"Everyone is ready, Sir!"

"You can call me Sidon, you know?"

"No can do Sir, Thaddeus himself said that you are in charge of this 'walk'."

"So we can walk now?" Sidon smiled.

"So we walk." Richard sighed.

"Let us walk!" Screamed Fianna.

The female dropper rolled her eyes, the red head would not walk.
