I sighed as I looked over the new status window. So it is like my latest game. This means that proficiencies are all hidden, and I had no way to gauge my progress by percentages. Though since that game was backwards compatible all my proficiencies should be here, just hidden. And restricted.

“W-what just happened?” Fira stuttered as her eyes wildly roamed around the room.

“Status update.” I said bitterly as I continued to look over my status window. Open Phantasmal Creation. *ting~

Phantasmal Creation

Progress level: 0%

   Rank: ✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩ (10)

A skill that allows the creation of anything the user imagines, within certain limits. Basicly solid illusions that hold massive amounts of power.

Current Unlocked Skills:

< Create Item >

    - Current Restrictions: Item can not have a volume bigger than two meters3. Cannot create more than seven items at a time. Items have a duration of one month.

What the hell is this? Unlimited blade works? Well considering it is a system I made based off of that character… I sighed, who exactly was that voice? The sense of familiarity is gnawing on my heart like a ‘supposedly’ neglected kitten.

“Eh? Systems?” Fira pondered outloud as she laid curled up in my arms, one hand free and poking around at her invisible status window.

“This is somewhat disturbing. Well we can expect a massive upheaval with this.” Jack said with a sigh. “Luckily it doesn’t seem to have changed too much. But what exactly are systems?”

I could answer that, but it would bring about questions I don’t want to answer. “Well, no use pondering about it.” I said off handedly before happily focusing on the bundle of warmth in my arms, “So Fira, I kind of killed your father. Do you want to live with me now?”

I felt her stiffen unnaturally and heard the slap of jack’s palm hitting his forehead as he mumbled something about tact. Fira trembled and looked at me, slightly hope flickering in her eyes. “I-is he really gone now? I don’t have to be… be…”

I smiled, bent down and gently kissed her forehead. “No one will hurt you. I will make sure of that. And if they somehow do...” My eyes glinted for a second, “Then I will end them.” Yandere? What is that? Is it tasty?

Tears gathered in her eyes again as she buried her face in my flat bosom to hide them.

“So, you found out she was raped by her father, killed him, then offered for her to live with us?” My mother said with a sigh as she pressed her thumb into forehead. Meanwhile my father was trying not laugh. She leveled him a glare, “Don’t smirk, she inherited your bad habits.”

“Which make me all the more lovable.” He said with a grin, a purr rumbling in his chest as his tail twitched behind him.

“And also intolerable.” Mother stated blandly before turning back to me and the sleeping Fira, her head resting in my lap.

“So we will take her in?” Father asked with a smirk.

“Of course, like we would do anything else.” Mother said with a small smile, which turned into a frown as she looked at me, “Jay, do you know what you have done?”

I nodded. “Killed someone who was clearly poisonous to the village and especially Fera. Delivered justice and took in one who needed it.” My eyes flashed, “And defended my friend above all else.”

“W-well…” Mother’s frown cramped and dad burst out laughing. “It’s not funny!” She yelled while hitting him, “Our daughter just ruthlessly executed someone and you’re laughing!”

“It’s fine! It’s fine! She did with good intentions.” He waved his arms to placate mom.

“It’s not fine! What if our daughter becomes a murderer!”

“Well she did already kill someone.”

“You’re not helping!”

“Hahahaha~”

Mother sighed and shook her head, her ears twitching in annoyance before she turned to me, “Jay, you can’t just kill people even if they deserve it.”

“Why not?” I asked with a frown. Truthfully I guess there could be repercussions if I didn’t remove all witnesses…

“Jay…” She sighed again and shook her head, “Just make sure not to kill people who don’t deserve it.”

I snorted, “Obviously. Killing innocents is evil.” *bop “Ow~”

“Watch your attitude.” Mom berated while I clutched my head. “Anyway,” She kindly looked at the peacefully sleeping Fira in my lap, “Shall we take her home?”
