Chapter 9: The Extraordinary Magic

Chapter 9: The Extraordinary Magic

In the Ruby Kingdom in the Breeze Province in the Lightning City, after Zixin Quon visited the four kingdoms with the Falcon Circus, he is now heading back to his home in the Lightning City. His heart is filled with yearning for his wife, Xiulan Yongnian, and he is dreaming of the romantic nights he will spend with her once they meet.

While on their way to the Lightning City, a gang of bandits attacked the Falcon Circus caravans. The bandits wanted to usurp the money of the staff of the Falcon Circus without killing them. The chief leader of the bandits said to everyone: “Either you hand us all your money without resistance and we let you go safely or you resist us and we kill all of you and take your money”. The sage staff of the Falcon Circus including Zixin knew that they are not peers to the bandits in terms of power and that if they choose to resist, they jeopardize their lives so they choose to take the lesser of the two evils and hand the bandits all their money. Zixin had 10000 golden taels in total but he distributed them across multiple pouches. When Zixin initially heard the screams of people when the bandits appeared, he swiftly hid some of his pouches below the seats of the carriage he was riding and he hid some other pouches in a private area in the ceiling of the carriage. Zixin chose to outsmart the bandits and give them half of what he owns and spare the other half for himself. It was a dangerous move from Zixin because if the bandits discovered his deceit, they might kill him. The bandits trusted Zixin and that he gave them all what he had and ultimately let the caravans pass.

That was one of the fiercest hardships Zixin encountered. He travelled for eight months and worked so hard in the circus and half of his money vanished overnight by the sudden unexpected calamity. He was very frustrated and filled with anguish. When he met his wife, Xiulan, and told her the story, she said to him: “As long as you are safe, I do not care about the money. Your life is more precious to me than all the money in the world.” Zixin said: “Thank you for your soothing words. But what is the benefit of travelling for eight months and working so hard if my work can easily evaporate overnight.” Xiulan said: “I asked you before to stay with me and find work here in our city to do without travelling but you insisted on the work of the circus.” Zixin said: “You are right. I should consider alternatives seriously this time, my sweetheart, Xiulan. I wish there were a magic technique that turns stones into gold. If I discover such a technique, that would be my bonanza day.” Xiulan said: “But as you know, magic has its limitations and boundaries. Stop dreaming and think about something practical. Are you going to sleep now?” Zixin said: “I will stay awake for some time to think about my options. You can go to sleep. You have been working hard since the morning.” Xiulan said: “Yes, I am exhausted and feel drowsy. I will go to bed before you, my sweetheart. Good night.” Zixin said: “Good night, my sweetheart.”

Zixin stayed up late while drinking Chinese tea and he was juggling numerous options he might take as an alternative to his work in the circus. Here is a snapshot of Zixin's soliloquy:

“Should I quit my work in the circus? What else can I do? I dedicated my life to magic and leaving my passion is difficult. But travelling also is dangerous and time-consuming. It keeps me away from my sweetheart and relatives for a long time. Should I stay in my city and start my own trade and become a merchant. But starting my own business requires capital and I have only limited funds. Also, not every investment is profitable. You must consider both profit and loss for any new investment. I am perplexed and do not know which road I should take. Everything in life has merits and demerits. Because of our limited knowledge and wisdom, we at times take a less favorable option and leave the optimal option. Zixin, what is your ideal move now?”

While Zixin was thinking deeply about his next move, he heard someone calling him. The call is from an invisible source inside his room. Zixin could hear the voice clearly inside the room but without seeing anyone. That was the voice of the jinn. Before sharing the conversation between Zixin and the jinn, here are some essential information about the jinn according to the Islamic faith:

* Allah created the jinn from fire. Allah said in the Holy Koran:

“And indeed, We created man from dried (sounding) clay of altered mud. (26) And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. (27)” [THK: S 15: V 26-27].

* By default, the jinn can see human beings but human being cannot see the jinn. Allah said in the Holy Koran:

“O Children of Adam! Let not Satan deceive you, as he got your parents [Adam and Hawwa (Eve)] out of Paradise, stripping them of their raiments, to show them their private parts. Verily, he and his soldiers [from the jinn or his tribe] see you from where you cannot see them. Verily, We made the devils protectors and helpers for those who believe not. (27)” [THK: S 7: V 27].

* Like human beings, some jinn are good and righteous while others are evil and wicked. Allah said in the Holy Koran:

“There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different ways (religious sects). (11)” [THK: S 72: V 11].

* Devils are the most evil jinn. There are two types of devils: jinn devils and human devils. Allah said in the Holy Koran:

“And so We have appointed for every Prophet enemies - devils among mankind and jinn, inspiring one another with adorned speech as a delusion (or by way of deception). If your Lord had so willed, they would not have done it, so leave them alone with their fabrications. (112)” [THK: S 6: V 112].

* Devils whispers in the hearts of human beings and urge them to disobey Allah by saying or doing evil things. Allah said in the Holy Koran:

“Say: "I seek refuge with (Allah) the Lord of mankind, (1) "The King of mankind (2) "The Ilah (God) of mankind, (3) "From the evil of the whisperer (devil who whispers evil in the hearts of men) who withdraws (from his whispering in one's heart after one remembers Allah), (4) "Who whispers in the breasts of mankind, (5) "Of jinn and men." (6)” [THK: S 114: V 1-6].

* Devils can teach human beings magic. Allah said in the Holy Koran:

“They followed what the devils gave out (falsely of the magic) in the lifetime of Solomon. Solomon did not disbelieve, but the devils disbelieved, teaching men magic and such things that came down at Babylon to the two (angels,) Harut and Marut, but neither of these two angels taught anyone (such things) till they had said, "We are only for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us)." And from these (angels) people learn that by which they cause separation between man and his wife, but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah's Leave. And they learn that which harms them and profits them not. And indeed they knew that the buyers of it (magic) would have no share in the Hereafter. And how bad indeed was that for which they sold their ownselves, if they but knew. (102)” [THK: S 2: V 102].

* By default, the jinn do not speak with an audible voice with human beings. The conversation between Zixin and the jinn is an exceptional case that was made possible by Allah's Leave.

Here is the conversation between the jinn and Zixin:

The jinn: Zixin, how are you doing?

Zixin: Whose voice is this? I can hear the voice but cannot see anyone.

The jinn: Calm down. We are the jinn.

Zixin: The jinn! I do not know what the jinn means.

The jinn: We are creatures that can see you but you cannot see us. We are here to help you.

Zixin: Help me! How?

The jinn: Did not you say: “I wish there were a magic technique that turns stones into gold. If I discover such a technique, that would be my bonanza day.”

Zixin: Yes, I said that.

The jinn: We will teach you a magic technique that turns stones into gold.

Zixin: Really? And why have you chosen me and not someone else?

The jinn: Because we felt pity for you for your suffering.

Zixin: And will you teach me this technique for nothing?

The jinn: We want your obedience. You must obey our instructions.

Zixin: So what is the magic technique that turns stones into gold?

The jinn: Follow this procedure precisely:

1. Bring a stick and three rods: one iron rod, one aluminum rod and one copper rod.

2. Place the stick in the center and the three rods around it and fasten three strings round the rods: one string in the middle and two strings on the sides (tie three knots).

3. Cover the stick and the rods with a piece of cloth.

4. Soak the covered stick and rods in a container (basin) with water for thirty days.

5. For each day of the thirty days, do the following:

1. Put a flower in the container.

2. Sprinkle some perfume in the container.

3. Supplicate us for help with this phrase: “O jinn, help me with this great magic.”

6. After thirty days, extract the stick.

7. Now, whenever you touch a stone that you can carry with the stick, the stone will be turned into gold. This technique will work only for stones you can carry. If you touch a stone that you cannot carry with the stick, it will not be turned into gold.

Zixin: Are you serious? Will this technique work?

The jinn: We taught you a valuable technique and it is up to you if you want to benefit from it.

Zixin: Are there more things you can teach me?

The voice of the jinn disappeared and Zixin was left alone again. Zixin jotted down the technique and he was reluctant whether to believe the jinn the try the technique or whether to disbelieve and discard what the jinn told him as it is realistically impossible to turn stones into gold. He then said to himself: “Why not give it a try? I have nothing to lose.”

By this procedure, the jinn lured Zixin into a polytheistic action which is: invoking others instead of Allah. In Islam, Muslims only invoke Allah which is a reflection of pure monotheism. Invoking others instead of Allah is considered one instance of polytheism. The devils continuously try to hinder people from the Path of Allah by making them commit all kinds of sins including polytheistic words and actions. Since Zixin is not a Muslim, he easily fell into the polytheism trap. Allah said in the Holy Koran:

“And invoke not besides Allah, any that will neither profit you, nor hurt you, but if (in case) you did so, you shall certainly be one of the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers)." (106)” [THK: S 10: V 106].

“And the mosques are for Allah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allah. (18) And when the slave of Allah (Muhammad) stood up invoking (his Lord Allah) in prayer they (the jinn) just made round him a dense crowd as if sticking one over the other (in order to listen to the Prophet's recitation). (19) Say (O Muhammad): "I invoke only my Lord (Allah Alone), and I associate none as partners along with Him." (20) Say: "It is not in my power to cause you harm, or to bring you to the Right Path." (21) Say (O Muhammad): "None can protect me from Allah's punishment (if I were to disobey Him), nor can I find refuge except in Him. (22)” [THK: S 72: V 18-22].

“(Their allies deceived them) like Satan, when he says to man: "Disbelieve in Allah." But when (man) disbelieves in Allah, Satan says: "I am free of you, I fear Allah, the Lord of the Alameen (mankind, jinn and all that exists)!" (16) So the end of both will be that they will be in the Fire, abiding therein. Such is the recompense of the Zalimun (i.e. polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in Allah and in His Oneness). (17)” [THK: S 59: V 16-17].

Zixin brought a rectangular basin and filled it with water. Inside that basin he soaked the stick with the three rods and he started to apply the procedure that he learned from the jinn. Zixin was skeptical about the final outcome. He was uncertain whether the procedure will produce a magical stick that touches stones and turn them into gold. Zixin told Xiulan about what happened between him the jinn and she was also skeptical about the result of the procedure.

After thirty days, Zixin, extracted the stick and he brought ten small stones. He touched the first stone with the stick and it was instantly turned into gold. Zixin was dazzled and he could not believe his eyes. He started to scrutinize the stone closely to make sure it is gold. Xiulan was also astonished for what she saw and she started to scrutinize the stone as well. Zixin said: “Is it gold?” Xiulan said: “Yes, it seems gold.” Zixin then touched the second stone with the stick and it was also turned into gold. Again, Zixin scrutinized the stone and it appeared to be true gold. Zixin continued touching the rest of the stones with his stick and they all were turned into gold. Xiulan said: “What if these are not true gold? What if they only look like true gold bu they are fool's gold?” Zixin said: “We have to test this gold at the goldsmith store.”

Zixin took the smallest stone that was turned into gold and he headed to the goldsmith store. He asked the goldsmith: “Is this real gold?” The goldsmith scrutinized the stone and after thorough examination, he said to Zixin: “Yes, this is real gold.” Zixin said: “Can I sell it to you?” The goldsmith said: “Of course, this piece of gold costs 5000 golden taels.” Zixin said: “Okay, it is a deal!” Zixin got 5000 golden taels for his piece of gold and headed back to his home. He met Xiulan and told her the story. They were both extremely happy that the magic technique worked as expected and that it produces real gold.

Zixin: It worked! It worked! It worked!

Xiulan: Yes, the technique worked as expected. Now we will become rich!

Zixin: Not only rich, but very rich. Xiulan, keep this as a secret. No one except you and me should know about what happened, clear?

Xiulan: Of course, I will not let anyone know about this top secret.

Zixin: Let us dream of what we can do with this magic technique.

Xiulan: Now I can buy the most precious jewelry; We can eat the best food in the city; We can dress the most beautiful and expensive clothes; we can do more and more.

Zixin: We can buy a palace and we can hire servants and maids. We can start our own business. Nothing now is beyond our reach.

Xiulan: I am the happiest woman in the world now. You will dispense with the circus and stay close to me all the time. We will never separate again.

Zixin: True, I will stay always with you and never leave you alone again.

Zixin was not yet fully confident about the magic technique that he learned. He had multiple questions but without clear answers. These questions were:

This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source.

1. Will this magic technique work permanently or temporarily? If it is a temporary technique, for how long will it work?

2. Can someone else use my magical stick and turn stones into gold?

3. Is this technique repeatable with me? Can I repeat this technique with a different stick and will that different stick turn stones into gold?

4. Is this technique repeatable with someone else? Can someone else apply the procedure and get a stick that turns stones into gold?

5. Can this technique be nullified by a certain action? In other words, can someone do a certain action and stop my magical stick from turning stones into gold? If this technique can be nullified, what is the procedure for nullifying it and who can nullify it?

6. What is the interest for the jinn to share this technique with me?

7. How far can I go with this magic technique? How can I get the most out of this magic technique?

Zixin did not have answers for all of these questions but he could answer some of them with experiment. So the first thing he experimented with is to ask Xiulan to use his magical stick and turn stones into gold. Xiulan tried the magical stick but it did not work with her and she failed to turn stones into gold. Now, Zixin could answer the second question: “Can someone else use my magical stick and turn stones into gold?” with “No, someone else cannot use my magical stick to turn stones into gold.” To answer the third question, Zixin repeated the procedure with a different stick and after thirty days, he extracted the stick and tried it on some stones, but the new stick did not turn stones into gold. Zixin tried with his first stick and it turned the stones into gold. So Zixin now could answer the third question: “Is this technique repeatable with me? Can I repeat this technique with a different stick and will that different stick turn stones into gold?” with “No, this technique is not repeatable with me and I cannot produce a new magical stick with this procedure.”

Zixin also asked Xiulan to apply the magical procedure with her own new stick. Xiulan applied the magical procedure and after thirty days, she tried her stick on some stones but her stick did not work and could not turn stones into gold. Now Zixin could answer the fourth question: “Is this technique repeatable with someone else? Can someone else apply the procedure and get a stick that turns stones into gold?” with “No, this technique is not repeatable with someone else.”

Zixin wanted to increase his confidence that this magical technique is not repeatable with someone else so he asked his cousins Guang, Jinjing, Shirong and Bingwen to apply the technique without informing them about the expected result of the technique. When the cousins touched stones with their own sticks, nothing happened. Zixin also asked his cousins to touch the stones with his own magical stick and again, they failed to turn stones into gold with Zixin's magical stick. So now Zixin increased his confidence that this technique is not repeatable with someone else.

Now Zixin reached the following conclusion based on his limited experimentation: “My magical stick that turns stones into gold works only with me and the magical technique does not work with anyone else.”

Zixin knew that this magical technique, if revealed, can cause him some troubles with the government. So he took extra precautions to keep this top-secret technique confidential. Zixin wanted to get the most out of his magical stick and climb the ladder of richness and influence gradually in a reasonable manner so that no one can question his growth. If Zixin grows unreasonably fast in an unusual manner, the Ministry of Intelligence might question him about his unbelievable source of richness.

One source of threat Zixin thought of was the goldsmith. If the goldsmith sees Zixin frequently coming with raw gold to be exchanged for money, he might think that Zixin has discovered a secret goldmine from which he continuously brings raw gold. This might cause the goldsmith to inform the government about his suspicion or he might even spy on Zixin to know about his unusual way of obtaining raw gold. Therefore, Zixin wanted to convert his raw gold (stones converted into gold) into golden taels. If Zixin can directly convert his raw gold into golden taels, he can have money without the need for an intermediary (the goldsmith). This will keep him away from raising any suspicions from having a myriad of transactions with the goldsmith.

In order to convert raw gold Zixin was generating with his magical stick to golden taels, Zixin realized that he needs the help of his four cousins and that he must impart his secret to them. Zixin invited his cousins to a banquet in his house and he shared the secret with them:

Zixin: My dear cousins, do you remember when I asked you to do an experiment for me over one month?

Jinjing: Yes, your experiment is still vague to us. We do not know why you asked us to soak a stick with three rods in a basin for one month and do some rituals every day.

Zixin: I wanted to test if the magic that succeeded with me will also succeed with you. It turned out to be only successful with me.

Shirong: Which magic do you mean?

Zixin: My dear cousins, I have a secret to share with you but you must promise me to keep this secret confidential and not disclose it to anyone.

Guang: I truly promise to keep your secret confidential.

Jinjing: I also promise to keep your secret confidential.

Shirong: I also promise to keep your secret confidential.

Bingwen: I also promise to keep your secret confidential.

Zixin: I have discovered an occult magic technique that can turn stones into gold.

Guang: Really? Are you serious? Does such technique exist?

Bingwen: Zixin, are you dreaming? How can this technique be possible?

Shirong: I cannot believe that. Magic has intrinsic limitations. How can you do that?

Jinjing: I am really surprised. Zixin, can you show us?

Zixin: Okay, I will show you so that you become confident about my truthfulness.

Zixin brought multiple stones and when he started to touch them with his magical stick, the stones were instantly converted to gold.

Jinjing: Wow! Is this true gold?

Bingwen: Am I dreaming? It is gold.

Guang: It looks like gold but is it real gold?

Shirong: Zixin, I trust you. It seems gold. How did you discover this technique?

Zixin: I will tell you the story from the beginning.

Zixin started to tell his cousins about his story with discovering this occult magic technique.

Jinjing: But what if the effect of this magic is temporary and not permanent? What if at certain point of time you will not be able to convert stones to gold with your magical stick? Have you considered this option?

Zixin: I asked myself these questions. There are two options: either the effect of this magic is permanent or temporary. In both cases, we should make the most out of this magic. Logic and common sense dictate to us that we maximize the benefit of this magic and utilize it to the fullest.

Shirong: Zixin, do you know how far you can go with this technique? You can become the richest person in the Lightning City.

Bingwen: Not only in the Lightning City but in the entire Chinese Empire.

Guang: Not only in the Chinese Empire but you can become the richest person in the entire world.

Zixin: I know. But this is conditional upon having the right decisions with the right circumstances.

Jinjing: So what are your plans for now?

Zixin: I want to avoid attracting people's attention to my magical stick and the fact that I now have unlimited money supply. If the government discovers this, I will be in trouble with them. Currently, I need to exchange raw gold or the stones that I convert to gold with a goldsmith for money. If the goldsmith sees me frequently bringing raw gold to exchange for money, he will have suspicions about me and my unusual activity with him. He might also inform the government about my suspicious transactions with him.

Guang: You are right. You must be cautious enough to keep your secret confidential.

Bingwen: In that case, you should not exchange raw gold for money with a single goldsmith. Diversify your transactions with numerous goldsmiths so that you are less susceptible to suspicions in that case.

Xiulan: But the problem still exists. Over time, one or many goldsmiths might have questions and raise suspicions about Zixin's unusual activity with them. Since we have unlimited money supply, we need to unceasingly exchange raw gold for money and ultimately suspicions will be raised about us.

Shirong: You are right. So do you have a solution for this dilemma?

Zixin: I thought about converting my raw gold directly into golden taels. In that case, we do not need the goldsmith as an intermediary to give us money. I need your help in this regard.

Jinjing: Do you mean you want to start your own mint? It is an extremely dangerous move. Only the government has the right to mint golden taels. If they discovered that we have our own unauthorized mint, we will at least end in jail.

Xiulan: We know it is a very dangerous move. But it is the only way we can climb the ladder of richness without raising suspicions about our source of money.

Zixin: My dear cousins, can you learn how to open and operate a mint? All the people you hire must be perfectly trustworthy and reliable. Otherwise, we will all face a severe punishment from the government.

Guang: If we want to open our own confidential mint, we need the help of ironsmiths I guess. We need people expert in using a furnace for smelting gold and people expert in creating and using molds. We need to make sure that golden taels we produce are identical copies of the government's issued golden taels. Otherwise, the government will start to chase us.

Zixin: You are right. Can you fulfill this mission for me? I mean learning and hiring the right personnel to open and operate our own confidential mint?

Shirong: Zixin, I am with you in every endeavor you are willing to take.

Bingwen: I am also with you.

Guang: I am also with you.

Jinjing: I am also with you.

Zixin: Thank you, my beloved cousins. I truly appreciate your loyalty and commitment.

Xiulan: Now we are a great team with great dreams to achieve. Let us together grow.

The four cousins of Zixin took the matter seriously and they started an information seeking phase for familiarizing themselves with the requirements of opening and operating their own private mint.

Zixin: Xiulan, opening our own private mint is extremely dangerous as we discussed.

Xiulan: True, but it is our best option for masking our unlimited money supply.

Zixin: But I want to grow financially overnight. I do not want to grow gradually. Growing gradually is time-consuming and requires so much planning and execution effort.

Xiulan: Can you elaborate more on why you do not want to grow gradually?

Zixin: Suppose I start my own business by buying a small shop and hiring the staff to operate that shop, since I need to report yearly taxes to the government, the government has to know my income. If I grow gradually by buying more shops and recruiting more people, I cannot grow very fast because the government will question my unusual growth and the large amounts of funds that I have to expand in a tremendous manner. Therefore, I need to grow slowly to keep the government convinced about my normal expected growth.

Xiulan: True. In that case, our unlimited money supply will not be utilized to the fullest. We will have limitations and constraints on our growth. But how about concealing our wealth and falsely reporting taxes? So for example, we report our income as 100000 golden taels while we generated 200000 golden taels.

Zixin: But if we want to own assets such as lands, buildings, equipment, etc., the government must know about our ownership and track our expenditures. It is easier to lie about operating expenses than to lie about capital expenditures.

Xiulan: So what are you thinking? Do you have any plans in mind to allow us to be rich overnight without making our growth dubious in the eyes of the government and people?

Zixin: I was thinking: why should we become the government's enemy if we can be the government's friend?

Xiulan: What do you mean? How can we be the government's friend?

Zixin: Are you aware of the Treasure Finding Policy stipulated by the Ministry of Finance?

Xiulan: No, I am not familiar with this policy. What is it?

Zixin: This policy stipulates that whoever finds buried treasure, the government gets half the treasure and the finder of the treasure gets the other half.

Xiulan: It is really an interesting policy. Are you planning to feign finding a treasure so that we get half of it?

Zixin: Exactly. I will feign finding a tremendous treasure and share this news with the government. They will get half the treasure and I will get the other half.

Xiulan: It is really an amazing idea. But what if the government become greedy and they do not share half the treasure with us?

Zixin: I do not think they will do that. The purpose of the Treasure Finding Policy is to promote the cooperation between the government and people and encourage the truthfulness, honesty, transparency and integrity of citizens. Suppose they do not give us half the treasure, they are the losers. Since we have unlimited money supply, we can contrive other ways to generate wealth and fortune.

Xiulan: I always have admired your intelligence and shrewdness. I hope things will work for us in the best possible way.

Zixin: Thank you, my sweetheart, Xiulan, I hope that too.

The next day, Zixin invited his four cousins for dinner to discuss his new plan with them.

Zixin: How have you been? Have you started inquiring about opening and operating our own private mint?

Bingwen: Yes, but you have to give us more time to crystallize our vision and move smoothly from planning to implementation.

Xiulan: Forget about opening our own private mint. Zixin and I decided to do without this dangerous move.

Shirong: So have you found a better plan?

Zixin: Yes, I found a better plan. Since I have now unlimited money supply, I want to grow financially in the quickest possible way. The quickest possible way is become the richest person in the Chinese Empire overnight.

Guang: But how can you do this without making your growth dubious in the eyes of the government? If the government discovers about your magical stick, they will detain you or confiscate your magical stick and prevent you from further growth.

Jinjing: True. Unusual and unexpected growth alerts the government easily and puts you under thorough monitoring.

Zixin: I was telling Xiulan, why to become the government's enemy if I can become the government's friend?

Shirong: How will you become the government's friend?

Zixin: I will feign finding a gargantuan treasure. According to the Treasure Finding Policy adopted by the Ministry of Finance, the government gets half the treasure and I get the other half.

Bingwen: That is an astounding idea. This way you justify your financial growth overnight in a justifiable and benign way.

Jinjing: Furthermore, you become the bosom friend of the government. By sharing a gargantuan treasure with the government, you acquire the love and trust of the government.

Xiulan: True. We thought that this is our best move to become the richest people in the Chinese Empire overnight in a convincing, benign and justifiable way.

Guang: So how much raw gold will you feign finding as a treasure?

Zixin: I want to be ten times richer than the richest person in the Chinese Empire. Therefore, the treasure I will feign finding must be twenty times larger than the fortune of the richest person in the Chinese Empire. The government gets half of it and I get the other half.

Xiulan: So now you have a new mission, my dear relatives. Do you know what it is?

Shirong: I guess you want us to find the fortune of the richest person in the Chinese Empire, am I right?

Zixin: Exactly, that is the goal.

Bingwen: Give us some time to make a reconnaissance and obtain this interesting information for you.

Zixin: Take your time. Thank you so much, dear cousins. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

During the subsequent days, the four cousins started to inquire about the richest person in the Chinese Empire and they knew that his name is Yuxuan Jingguo. He owns a chain of hotels across the large cities in the Chinese Empire. His fortune is estimated to be 100 million golden taels. The four cousins shared the news with Zixin so now Zixin has an approximate threshold of richness he should aim at. According to Zixin's logic, he desires to have ten times the fortune of the richest person in the Chinese empire. Hence, he must generate a fortune of one billion golden taels. To do so via the Treasure Finding Policy, he must bury raw gold whose value is two billion golden taels so that he gets one billion golden taels and the government gets one billion golden taels.

Zixin: My dear cousins, before implementing our plan, do you see any flaws in the plan? Are there any breaches that could thwart our plan?

Jinjing: Zixin, are you confident about your occult magical technique. What if your technique lets you down at a certain point in time?

Zixin: As I mentioned before, I assume that my magical technique is trustworthy and reliable. Let me get the most out of it. In other words, let me realize its true potential.

Guang: I believe that the current plan is the best move. It is much safer than opening and operating our own private mint.

Shirong: True. As Zixin said, there is a big difference between becoming the government's friend and becoming the government's enemy.

Zixin: So to apply this plan, I need your help.

Bingwen: We are with you heart and soul, Zixin.

Zixin: Thank you so much. This is why you are my dearest relatives, cousins and friends.

Xiulan: Long live cooperation; Long live teamwork; Long live commitment; Long live loyalty; Long live friendship.

Zixin: Remember my dear cousins that once I become rich and influential, I will share my success with you. Your efforts will not be in vain. Just trust me and have faith in me.

Guang: We are certain of your great generosity. Thank you, Zixin.

Jinjing: We know that our effort will be greatly appreciated by you once you are successful. Thank you, my dear cousin.

Xiulan: Zixin always reminds me of what he owes you and he is willing to pay you back in the right time under the right circumstances.
