In Bilad Ash-sham in the city of Damascus, since Mohammad Azzumurrud is a Koran memorizer, he decided to deepen his knowledge and understanding of the Holy Koran so that he comes nearer to Allah. So who is Allah? Allah is Creator of everything, the Creator of the heavens and the earth and the Creator of mankind; Allah is the Lord of everything, the Lord of the worlds, the Lord of the heavens and the earth and the Lord of mankind; Allah is the One and Only True God.
So what is the Holy Koran? The Holy Koran is the Speech of Allah that Allah revealed to Prophet Muhammad through Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) over a period spanning approximately 23 years. Prophet Muhammad lived between 570 and 632 A.D. Since Prophet Muhammad is the final Prophet and Messenger from Allah to all mankind, the Holy Koran is also the final book from Allah to all mankind. The language of the Holy Koran is Arabic and its length is around 600 pages.
Allah revealed the Torah to Prophet Moses but Jews altered and corrupted the Torah after some time. Allah revealed the Gospel to Prophet Jesus but Christians altered and corrupted the Gospel after some time. Both the Torah and the Gospel that are in the hands of Jews and Christians nowadays are corrupt and outdated. The Torah and the Gospel have all been superseded by the Holy Koran.
Because the Holy Koran is the final book from Allah to mankind and because Prophet Muhammad is the final Prophet and Messenger from Allah to mankind, the resources of Islam must be preserved from any change or corruption and this is one of the reasons why Allah chose Arabs for His final message because Arabs are well-known for their supreme and exceptional memorization. There are a myriad of Arabs and Muslims who memorize the Holy Koran which is around 600 pages. Arabs also memorize thousands of quotations of Prophet Muhammad and hundreds of verses of poetry and poems. Arabs and Muslims preserved the Holy Koran as it was revealed to Prophet Muhammad by two kinds of preservation: preservation by chests (memorization) and preservation by lines (writing). Allah promised to preserve and protect the Holy Koran from any corruption as He said in the Holy Koran:
“Verily We: It is We (Allah) Who have sent down the Reminder (i.e. the Koran) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption). (9)” [THK: S 15: V 9].
The purpose of the Holy Koran is guidance for mankind and jinn. The Holy Koran guides mankind and jinn to the Straight Path of Allah which is the True Religion, Islam. Allah said in the Holy Koran:
“This is the Book (the Koran), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are the God-fearing [the pious and righteous persons who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)]. (2)” [THK: S 2: V 2].
“The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Koran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong) …(185)” [THK: S 2: V 185].
“And this is a blessed Book (the Koran) which We have sent down, so follow it and fear Allah (i.e. do not disobey His Orders), that you may receive mercy (i.e. be saved from the torment of Hell). (155)” [THK: S 6: V 155].
“Certainly, We have brought them a Book (the Koran) which We have explained in detail with knowledge, - a guidance and a mercy to a people who believe. (52)” [THK: S 7: V 52].
“Alif-Lam-Ra. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Koran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. (This is) a Book which We have revealed unto you (O Muhammad) in order that you might lead mankind out of darkness (of disbelief and polytheism) into light (of belief in the Oneness of Allah and Islamic Monotheism) by their Lord's Leave to the Path of the All-Mighty, the Owner of all Praise. (1)” [THK: S 14: V 1].
“Verily, this Koran guides to that which is most just and right and gives glad tidings to the believers (in the Oneness of Allah and His Messenger, Muhammad ). who work deeds of righteousness, that they shall have a great reward (Paradise). (9) And that those who believe not in the Hereafter, for them We have prepared a painful torment (Hell). (10)” [THK: S 17: V 9-10].
“The revelation of the Book (this Koran) in which there is not doubt, is from the Lord of the Alameen (mankind, jinn and all that exists)! (2)” [THK: S 32: V 2].
The Holy Koran is miraculous in its eloquence. Since Allah is perfect in His Self, Attributes and Actions, the Holy Koran has also perfect eloquence. Allah challenged all mankind and jinn to bring the like of the Holy Koran, the like of ten Suras (chapters) of the Holy Koran or the like of one Sura (chapter) of the Holy Koran. Allah said in the Holy Koran:
“And if you (Arab pagans, Jews, and Christians) are in doubt concerning that which We have sent down (i.e. the Koran) to Our slave (Muhammad), then produce a Sura (chapter) of the like thereof and call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides Allah, if you are truthful. (23)” [THK: S 2: V 23].
“And this Koran is not such as could ever be produced by other than Allah (Lord of the heavens and the earth), but it is a confirmation of (the revelation) which was before it [i.e. the Torah, and the Gospel], and a full explanation of the Book (i.e. laws decreed for mankind) - wherein there is no doubt from the Lord of the Alameen (mankind, jinn, and all that exists). (37) Or do they say: "He (Muhammad) has forged it?" Say: "Bring then a Sura (chapter) like unto it, and call upon whomsoever you can, besides Allah, if you are truthful!" (38)” [THK: S 10: V 37-38].
“Or they say, "He (Prophet Muhammad) forged it (the Koran)." Say: "Bring you then ten forged Suras (chapters) like unto it, and call whomsoever you can, other than Allah (to your help), if you speak the truth!" (13) If then they answer you not, know then that it [the Revelation (this Koran)] is sent down with the Knowledge of Allah and that none has the right to be worshipped but He! Will you then be Muslims (those who submit to Islam)? (14)” [THK: S 11: V 13-14].
“Say: "If the mankind and the jinn were together to produce the like of this Koran, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another." (88)” [THK: S 17: V 88].
There are three stages for benefiting from the Holy Koran: reading (recitation), understanding and inference. The first stage is reading the Holy Koran or part of it. Muslims read or recite the Holy Koran regularly from the beginning to the end. The second stage for benefiting from the Holy Koran is understanding the verses of the Holy Koran and their wise meanings. The vast majority of the verses of the Holy Koran are crystal clear. Some verses need to be understood with the aid of an Arabic dictionary and/or a book about the exegesis of the Holy Koran. The last stage for benefiting from the Holy Koran is inference and this stage is for Muslim scholars who infer jewels of wisdom from the Holy Koran that are beneficial in life on both the theoretical and practical levels.
The Holy Koran has two dimensions of benefit: the dimension of knowledge and the dimension of work (application). First, the Holy Koran provides us with knowledge about the relationships between the Creator (Allah) and the people, between people themselves and between people and other creatures. As for the dimension of work, the Holy Koran was not only revealed to be read or recited; it was also revealed to be applied in people's lives. The Holy Koran contains the instructions and orders of Allah that must be applied by people so that they attain happiness in this fleeting life and in the Hereafter on the Day of Judgment.
So how can the verses of the Holy Koran be classified? Two Arabic verses of poetry classify the verses of the Holy Koran into nine types:
سأنبيكها في بيت شعر بلا ملل
بشير نذير قصة عظة مثل
ألا إنما القرآن تسعة أحرف
حلال حرام محكم متشابه
“Verily, the Koran is nine letters (classes); I shall inform you about them in one verse of poetry without boredom.
Lawful, forbidden, entirely clear, not entirely clear, a bearer of good news, a bearer of warning, story, exhortation, a parable (or similitude).”
Next, we delve deeper into each one of these classes.
1) Lawful:
The Holy Koran informs people about lawful things they are allowed to say, do, eat, drink, etc.
Here is one example where Allah says in the Holy Koran:
“They ask you (O Muhammad) what is lawful for them (as food). Say: "Lawful unto you are At-Tayyibat [all kind of Halal (lawful-good) foods which Allah has made lawful (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables and fruits)]. And those beasts and birds of prey which you have trained as hounds, training and teaching them (to catch) in the manner as directed to you by Allah; so eat of what they catch for you, but pronounce the Name of Allah over it, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Swift in reckoning." (4) Made lawful to you this day are At-Tayyibat [all kinds of Halal (lawful) foods, which Allah has made lawful (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables and fruits). The food (slaughtered cattle, eatable animals,) of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) is lawful to you and yours is lawful to them. (Lawful to you in marriage) are chaste women from the believers and chaste women from those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) before your time, when you have given their due Mahr (bridal money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage), desiring chastity (i.e. taking them in legal wedlock) not committing illegal sexual intercourse, nor taking them as girl-friends. And whosoever disbelieves in faith [i.e. in the Oneness of Allah and in all the other Articles of Faith, i.e. His (Allah's), Angels, His Holy Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)], then fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers. (5)” [THK: S 5: V 4-5].
2) Forbidden:
The Holy Koran informs people about forbidden things they are not allowed to say, do, eat, drink, etc.
Here is one example where Allah says in the Holy Koran:
“Forbidden to you (for food) are: Al-Maitah (the dead animals - cattle - beast not slaughtered), blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which Allah’s Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering, (that which has been slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allah, or has been slaughtered for idols) and that which has been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by the goring of horns - and that which has been (partly) eaten by a wild animal - unless you are able to slaughter it (before its death) - and that which is sacrificed (slaughtered) on An-Nusub (stone-altars). (Forbidden) also is to use arrows seeking luck or decision; (all) that is Fisqun (disobedience of Allah and sin). This day, those who disbelieved have given up all hope of your religion; so fear them not, but fear Me (Allah). This day, I (Allah) have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But as for him who is forced by severe hunger, with no inclination to sin (such can eat these above mentioned meats), then surely, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (3)” [THK: S 5: V 3].
3) Entirely Clear:
The vast majority of the Holy Koran consists of entirely clear verses.
For example, Allah says in the Holy Koran:
“Say (O Muhammad ): "I am only a warner and there is no Ilah (God) except Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah) the One, the Irresistible, (65) "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving." (66)” [THK: S 38: V 65-66].
4) Not Entirely Clear:
Some verses in the Holy Koran are not entirely clear and only Allah knows their complete meanings. Allah says in the Holy Koran:
“It is He Who has sent down to you (Muhammad) the Book (this Koran). In it are Verses that are entirely clear, they are the foundations of the Book [and those are the Verses of commandments, obligatory duties and legal laws for the punishment of thieves, adulterers, etc]; and others not entirely clear. So as for those in whose hearts there is a deviation (from the truth) they follow that which is not entirely clear thereof, seeking Al-Fitnah (polytheism and trials), and seeking for its hidden meanings, but none knows its hidden meanings save Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: "We believe in it; the whole of it (clear and unclear Verses) are from our Lord." And none receive admonition except men of understanding. (7)” [THK: S 3: V 7].
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
An example of a verse that is not entirely clear is where Allah says in the Holy Koran:
“The Most Gracious (Allah) rose over the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). (5)” [THK: S 20: V 5].
In this verse, Allah mentions that He rose over the Mighty Throne but we are ignorant of how Allah rose over the Mighty Throne. We know how a human king rises over his throne because we know the shape of the throne and the shape of the human body. But since we do not know the Self of Allah (there is nothing like Allah) and we do not know the shape of His Mighty Throne, we do not know how Allah rose over the Mighty Throne. Allah said in the Holy Koran:
“The Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you mates from yourselves, and for the cattle (also) mates. By this means He creates you (in the wombs). There is nothing like Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer. (11)” [THK: S 42: V 11].
5) A Bearer of Good News:
The Holy Koran contains verses that are bearers of good news to Muslims who believe in the Holy Koran and accept Islam as their religion. Muslims who believe in the Holy Koran and accept Islam as their religion will be rewarded with Paradise in the Hereafter on the Day of Judgment. Allah said in the Holy Koran:
“And give glad tidings to those who believe and do righteous good deeds, that for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). Every time they will be provided with a fruit therefrom, they will say: "This is what we were provided with before," and they will be given things in resemblance (i.e. in the same form but different in taste) and they shall have therein purified mates or wives, and they will abide therein forever. (25)” [THK: S 2: V 25].
6) A Bearer of Warning:
The Holy Koran contains verses that are bearers of warning to disbelievers (non-Muslims who reject to embrace Islam) who reject to believe in the Holy Koran and reject the religion of Islam. Non-Muslims who reject to believe in the Holy Koran and reject Islam after the message of Islam has been conveyed sufficiently to them will be punished in Hellfire in the Hereafter on the Day of Judgment. Allah said in the Holy Koran:
“Therefore I have warned you of a blazing (Hell); (14) None shall enter it save the most wretched, (15) Who denies and turns away. (16) And the pious and righteous will be far removed from it (Hell). (17) He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, (18)” [THK: S 92: V 14-18].
“Verily, We have warned you of a near torment - the Day when man will see that (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will say: "Woe to me! Would that I were dust!" (40)” [THK: S 78: V 40].
“And We have not taught him (Muhammad) poetry, nor is it suitable for him. This is only a Reminder and a plain Koran. (69) That he or it (Muhammad or the Koran) may give warning to him who is living (a healthy minded the believer), and that Word (charge) may be justified against the disbelievers (dead, as they reject the warnings). (70)” [THK: S 36: V 69-70].
7) Story:
The Holy Koran has stories that are full of wisdom so that Muslims can learn valuable lessons from these stories and apply them in their daily lives. All the stories of the Holy Koran are complete truth (they are not fiction). The stories of the Holy Koran make Muslims strong and
firm their hearts. Allah said in the Holy Koran:
“And all that We relate to you (O Muhammad) of the news of the Messengers is in order that We may make strong and firm your heart thereby. And in this (chapter of the Koran) has come to you the truth, as well as an admonition and a reminder for the believers. (120)” [THK: S 11: V 120].
Here is one example about the story of Prophet Abraham, the leader of monotheism, with his polytheistic folk. Allah says in the Holy Koran:
“And indeed We bestowed aforetime on Abraham his (portion of) guidance, and We were Well-Acquainted with him (as to his Belief in the Oneness of Allah). (51) When he said to his father and his people: "What are these images, to which you are devoted?" (52) They said:"We found our fathers worshipping them." (53) He said: "Indeed you and your fathers have been in manifest error." (54) They said: "Have you brought us the truth, or are you one of those who play about?" (55) He said: "Nay, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who created them and to that I am one of the witnesses. (56) "And by Allah, I shall plot a plan (to destroy) your idols after you have gone away and turned your backs." (57) So he broke them to pieces, (all) except the biggest of them, that they might turn to it. (58) They said: "Who has done this to our gods? He must indeed be one of the wrong-doers." (59) They said: "We heard a young man talking against them, who is called Abraham." (60) They said: "Then bring him before the eyes of the people, that they may testify." (61) They said: "Are you the one who has done this to our gods, O Abraham?" (62) [Abraham] said: "Nay, this one, the biggest of them (idols) did it. Ask them, if they can speak!" (63) So they turned to themselves and said: "Verily, you are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers)." (64) Then they turned to themselves (their first thought and said): "Indeed you [Abraham] know well that these (idols) speak not!" (65) [Abraham] said: "Do you then worship besides Allah, things that can neither profit you, nor harm you? (66) "Fie upon you, and upon that which you worship besides Allah! Have you then no sense?" (67) They said: "Burn him and help your gods, if you will be doing." (68) We (Allah) said: "O fire! Be you coolness and safety for Abraham!" (69) And they wanted to harm him, but We made them the worst losers. (70) And We rescued him and Lut (Lot) to the land which We have blessed for the Alameen (mankind and jinn). (71) And We bestowed upon him Isaac, and (a grandson) Jacob. Each one We made righteous. (72) And We made them leaders, guiding (mankind) by Our Command, and We revealed them the doing of good deeds, the establishment of prayer, and the giving of regular charity and of Us (Alone) they were the worshippers. (73)” [THK: S 21: V 51-73].
8) Exhortation:
The Holy Koran exhorts Muslims to do good things and avoid evil things. Here is one instance of exhortation from the Holy Koran where Allah says:
“Say (to them O Muhammad): "I exhort you to one (thing) only: that you stand up for Allah's sake in pairs and singly, and reflect (within yourselves the life history of the Prophet: there is no madness in your companion (Muhammad), He is only a warner to you in face of a severe torment." (46) Say (O Muhammad ): "Whatever wage I might have asked of you is yours. My wage is from Allah only. and He is a Witness over all things." (47)” [THK: S 34: V 46-47].
9) A Parable (or Similitude):
The Holy Koran has numerous parables or similitudes with deep meanings. Allah says in the Holy Koran:
“See you not how Allah sets forth a parable? - A goodly word as a goodly tree, whose root is firmly fixed, and its branches (reach) to the sky (i.e. very high). (24) Giving its fruit at all times, by the Leave of its Lord and Allah sets forth parables for mankind in order that they may remember. (25) And the parable of an evil word is that of an evil tree uprooted from the surface of earth having no stability. (26) Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world (i.e. they will keep on worshipping Allah Alone and none else), and in the Hereafter. And Allah will cause to go astray those who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.), and Allah does what He wills. (27)” [THK: S 14: V 24-27].
Now Mohammad Azzumurrud aspires to become a certified Koran memorizer. He is already a Koran memorizer but he is not a certified Koran memorizer. A certified Koran memorizer has to recite the entire Holy Koran from memory with the rules of mastery and excellence in front of another certified Koran memorizer. So who is the first certified Koran memorizer? The answer is: the companions of Prophet Muhammad because they recited the Holy Koran as they heard it from Prophet Muhammad. Certified Koran memorizers have a connected chain that links them with Prophet Muhammad and his companions. Let us for example see the connected chain of Hafs Bin Sulayman who is one of the greatest certified Koran memorizers and teachers [W-6].
Hafs Bin Sulayman learned the Holy Koran from Asim Bin Abi Annojood.
Asim Bin Abi Annojood learned the Holy Koran from Abdullah Assulami.
Abdullah Assulami learned the Holy Koran from Ali Bin Abi Taleb (the companion of Prophet Muhammad).
Ali Bin Abi Taleb learned the Holy Koran from Prophet Muhammad.
Prophet Muhammad learned the Holy Koran from Angel Jibreel (Gabriel).
Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) learned the Holy Koran from Allah (the One and Only True God).
Mohammad Azzumurrud succeeded in reciting the entire Holy Koran from memory in front his teacher who is a certified Koran memorizer and now Mohammad is a certified Koran memorizer with a connected chain that links him with Prophet Muhammad then Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) then Allah.
One day, Mohammad was chatting with his parents and here is a snapshot of the conversation:
Abdurrahman Azzumurrud: Mohammad, who is your best friend?
Mohammad: My best friend is the Holy Koran. It stays with me all the time; in times of travel and settlement; in times of happiness and sadness; in times of relief and distress. When I am alone, the Holy Koran creates an atmosphere of companionship for me; when I am sad, it makes me happy; when I am depressed, it infuses me with great hope; when I am down, it elevates me; when I lower my sights, it inspires me tremendously.
Zaynab Albahr: So Mohammad tell us more about your connection with Holy Koran.
Mohammad: There are certain verses from the Holy Koran that I remember and recall in different occasions. When I fear someone or something such as the unknown future, I remember these verses from the Holy Koran to expel my fears:
“So fear not mankind, but fear Me (Allah). (44)” [THK: S 5: V 44].
“They said: "Our Lord! Verily! We (Moses and Aaron) fear lest he (Pharaoh) should hasten to punish us or lest he should transgress (all bounds against us)." (45) He (Allah) said: "Fear not, verily! I am with you both, hearing and seeing. (46)” [THK: S 20: V 45-46].
“So Moses conceived fear in himself. (67) We (Allah) said: "Fear not! Surely, you will have the upper hand. (68)” [THK: S 20: V 67-68].
“... O Moses! Fear not, verily! the Messengers fear not in front of Me. (10)” [THK: S 27: V 10].
When I feel loneliness, I recall these verses from the Holy Koran to soothe my heart:
“... Be not sad (or afraid), surely Allah is with us … (40)” [THK: S 9: V 40].
“... And He (Allah) is with you (by His Knowledge) wheresoever you may be … (4)” [THK: S 57: V 4].
When I feel I am weak in the face of difficulties, I remember these verses from the Holy Koran to strengthen my heart:
“And when the two hosts saw each other, the companions of Moses said: "We are sure to be overtaken." (61) [Moses] said: "Nay, verily! With me is my Lord (Allah), He will guide me." (62)” [THK: S 26: V 61-62].
When my soul whispers to me that I should follow my desires and disobey Allah, I recall these verses from the Holy Koran:
“"Verily! I am Allah! none has the right to be worshipped but I, so worship Me, and perform the prayer for My Remembrance. (14) "Verily, the Hour is coming and I am almost hiding it from myself - that every person may be rewarded for that which he strives. (15) "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. (16)” [THK: S 20: V 14-16].
“Then, for him who transgressed all bounds (in disbelief, oppression and evil deeds of disobedience to Allah). (37) And preferred the life of this world (by following his evil desires and lusts), (38) Verily, his abode will be Hell-fire; (39) But as for him who feared standing before his Lord, and restrained himself from impure evil desires, and lusts. (40) Verily, Paradise will be his abode. (41)” [THK: S 79: V 37-41].
Abdurrahman: May Allah reward you every good for living with the Holy Koran. Your experience with the Holy Koran is beautiful and worth sharing.
Zaynab: I am touched by your speech about your relationship with the Holy Koran. Mohammad, do you remember “Bring your Proof” game that we played previously? I want to test your recall of the Holy Koran by asking you questions and you should bring the proof from the Holy Koran. Are you ready?
Mohammad: Yes, I am ready, my dear mother.
Zaynab: Enumerate people whom Allah loves.
Mohammad: Allah said in the Holy Koran:
“... Truly, Allah loves the good-doers. (195)” [THK: S 2: V 195].
“... Then Allah loves those who are the pious. (76)” [THK: S 3: V 76].
“... Verily, Allah loves those who act justly. (42)” [THK: S 5: V 42].
“... Truly, Allah loves those who turn unto Him in repentance and loves those who purify themselves (by taking a bath and cleaning and washing thoroughly their private parts, bodies, for their prayers). (222)” [THK: S 2: V 222].
“... And Allah loves the patient. (146)” [THK: S 3: V 146].
“... Certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him). (159)” [THK: S 3: V 159].
“Verily, Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in rows (ranks) as if they were a solid structure. (4)” [THK: S 61: V 4].
“O you who believe! Whoever from among you turns back from his religion (Islam), Allah will bring a people whom He will love and they will love Him; humble towards the believers, stern towards the disbelievers, fighting in the Way of Allah, and never fear of the blame of the blamers. That is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower. (54)” [THK: S 5: V 54].
Zaynab: “... That which Allah wills (will come to pass)! There is no power but with Allah. ..” [THK: S 18: V 39] (This verse is recited when you admire someone for a good quality he/she has). Excellent Mohammad, you have great memory and ability to recall and link information.
Abdurrahman: Enumerate people or things that Allah does not love.
Mohammad: Allah said in the Holy Koran:
“.... Truly, Allah likes not the transgressors. (190)” [THK: S 2: V 190].
“... and Allah likes not mischief. (205)” [THK: S 2: V 205].
“Allah will destroy usury and will give increase for Sadaqat (deeds of charity, alms, etc.) And Allah likes not the disbelievers, sinners. (276)” [THK: S 2: V 276].
“Say (O Muhammad): "Obey Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad)." But if they turn away, then Allah does not like the disbelievers. (32)” [THK: S 3: V 32].
“... And Allah does not like the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers). (57)” [THK: S 3: V 57].
“... Verily, Allah does not like such as are proud and boastful; (36)” [THK: S 4: V 36].
“And argue not on behalf of those who deceive themselves. Verily, Allah does not like anyone who is a betrayer of his trust, and sinner. (107)” [THK: S 4: V 107].
“Allah does not like that the evil should be uttered in public except by him who has been wronged. And Allah is Ever All-Hearer, All-Knower. (148)” [THK: S 4: V 148].
“... and eat and drink but waste not by extravagance, certainly He (Allah) likes not Al-Musrifun (those who waste by extravagance). (31)” [THK: S 7: V 31].
“... Certainly Allah likes not the treacherous. (58)” [THK: S 8: V 58].
“Certainly, Allah knows what they conceal and what they reveal. Truly, He likes not the proud. (23)” [THK: S 16: V 23].
“... Do not exult (with riches, being ungrateful to Allah). Verily Allah likes not those who exult (with riches, being ungrateful to Allah). (76)” [THK: S 28: V 76].
“Verily, Allah likes not the Mufsidun (those who commit great crimes and sins, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupters). (77)” [THK: S 28: V 77].
Zaynab: Who is the enemy of mankind?
Mohammad: The Satan (Iblees) and his followers are the enemies of mankind. Allah said in the Holy Koran:
“O mankind! Verily, the Promise of Allah is true. So let not this present life deceive you, and let not the chief deceiver (Satan) deceive you about Allah. (5) Surely, Shaitan (Satan) is an enemy to you, so take (treat) him as an enemy. He only invites his Hizb (followers) that they may become the dwellers of the blazing Fire. (6) Those who disbelieve, theirs will be a severe torment; and those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise). (7)” [THK: S 35: V 5-7].
Zaynab and Abdurrahman: Amazing work, Mohammad. We are blessed to have our son a Koran memorizer. Always recite the Koran and never forget it. We, Arabs, are blessed to recite the Holy Koran and understand the Speech of our Creator, Allah, directly without a translator.
