Chapter 20

The next destination was the Raging Heavens sect. This sect has 128 auxiliary branches they had consumed in efforts to expand their territory. The sect controls massive amounts of land and is considered a supreme power which has existed since ancient times. Only a few of the other supreme sects within other faraway regions could stand up against its might.

The golden eyed snake traveled for half an hour at full speed before they reached the border of the Roaring kingdom’s region.

As they reached the border , the golden eyed snake suddenly roared in pain and fell toward the ground.

“Filthy humans, you dare use a beast supressing formation on me?!”

“Vile creature, why have you trespassed onto our territory?!”

Three elderly individuals confronted the giant snake. Two of them were in the peak of the golden world realm while the one leading them was a half-step to immortal ascension.  They were one of the many sects protecting the borders of the main region of the Roaring kingdom.

“Isn’t that….”

Upon seeing the women, one of them seem to have recognized her.

“Isn’t that the daughter of elder Botan. Her name was…Pascal?”

The other two immediately frowned.

“That can’t be possible, her cultivation was smashed, she couldn’t have lived for so long.” the half step individual said.

When the Roaring Heavens Sect attacked the Thunder Storm sect, no one expected the young master to offer up a illustrious position of elder to some sect master of a 'weak sect'. However, when they saw how beautiful the daughter of Botan was, no one could really say they didn’t understand why.

There was also the fact the young master was as malicious as to sell the daughter just a few years later and to even announce it to everyone. There were many of the elder generation who knew Pascal.

As they were in deep thought, the world suddenly turned blue, and white breath could be seen as they breathed out.

Before they could even say anything, all three had their chests penetrated by frozen spears. The three had expressions of terror before they shattered.

The Beast supressing formation quickly dissipated and the snake continued on its way.

Everywhere they passed snow would began to fall. Those who saw the giant snake tried to run away but as it passed them they all felt relief.  Then snow began to fall which triggered the curiosity of many. However, as people began to see others freeze and shatter from touching the snow, the terror stricken citizens could not help but cry and run in fear.

It wasn’t long until the group made it to the inner regions of the Roaring Heavens sect. Many had tried to stop them only to be pierced by an unimaginably fast frozen spear.

At the moment, they were confronted by 6 elders who were all at half the step to immortal ascension.

All the elders were in disbelief that this group had been able to make it this far this quickly. One of them stood dumb struck when he saw the women on top the head of the spider.

This elder was the father of that woman, Botan Isa!

“Daughter…. Is that you?” he asked

“Father, it is me.” She replied coldly.

He also recognized Relic, the little kid who stuck to his daughter for over 15 years.

“This…. How can this be?!”

“Father, I want to know, why you always treated me so poorly compared to my sister?” her voice was soft and calm.

“Enough of your foolish questions, quickly surrender yourselves. You two have already caused a mess in the kingdom, if you give yourselves up now you can still redeem yourself.” He gave her a stern look.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

Pascal had a look of sadness when she heard his words.

Finally, she rose up and summoned an immaculate white sword. The instance it was summoned, all of the elders stared in disbelief at the aura the sword was putting out. All of them knew exactly what kind of sword this was.

“Transcendence weapon!” they all shouted.

In the next instant a blue world surrounded them all. Every one of them felt as if their movements were restrained and could hardly move. They all quickly summoned their own domains which counteracted the blue world. However, within the blue world, Relic reigned supreme. Frost spears traveled at a speed they could not dodge and all of them were penetrated by these spears. None, of them knew what hit them as they dropped out of the sky and shattering upon hitting the ground.

Botan stood there stupidly for a few moments before he fully grasped what had just occurred. He looked at Relic’s deep blue eyes and began to chatter his teeth.

“D-dao s-s-seed!”

“Good Luck, Master.” Relic sat back down of the snake. He did not retract his blue world as he was purposefully restraining Botan’s fighting capabilities to that of a golden world cultivator.

“Father, this will be our last time seeing each other.”

She took up her sword and charged towards her father. Botan also summoned his own sword which paled compared the white sword in Pascal’s hands.

Sparks flew with every clash of the sword. With the restriction of the blue world, his speed could only match that of his daughters.

Botan was slightly shocked his daughter could keep up with him. Even with his restrictions, he was more experienced and should have been able to overwhelm her. Lightning danced around them as the father and daughter fired magical attacks at each other.

Sword light would occasionally slip by leaving cuts on both their bodies. Thunder roared across the sky as many mortals ran away in fear.

“Daughter, it seems you are a lot stronger than I gave you credit for. I will admit, as a father I was not the best and could even be considered as a terrible one for giving you up. But that is why, you cannot defeat me!”

He had a plan. If he could take Pascal as a hostage, then Relic would not be able to harm him and he may even get him to surrender. The benefits he would receive for capturing a person with a Dao seed would be limitless.

His eyes flashed with greed as he casted an incantation gestures.

“With the essence of lightning,  greater than the world, come forth, the force of the Lightning Dao!”

A black streak of lightning stretched across the sky and hit Botan. He groaned in pain and spat out blood but had a smile on his face.

“This is a technique I spent many years to gain enlightenment on. The only other person I taught it to was your sister. Although you are my daughter, I have always seen you as a disappointment. The birth of your sister was like that of a deity. On the day of her birth, 7 streaks of lightning raced the crossed the sky and the birds sang harmonious songs. The day you were born was also the day famine struck our lands and all our plants were plagued by a disease. I knew at that moment you were fated to be a thorn at my side.” His face suddenly turned ugly.

“I only regret my soft personality for your mother. Otherwise I would have gotten rid of you a long time ago!”

Her face darkened upon hearing these words coming from her father.

“Do you understand? You were always fated to live the life of the ordinary! How could I waste my time on someone like you and pass on my legacy? The only good thing you have ever brought me was this position as an elder! You have already surpassed your usefulness, please die for father!”

His body suddenly flashed and his sword chopped down towards her. She barely held up her sword in time to defend, but she still flew off from the impact.

Seeing that Relic did not make a move Botan let out a breath of relief as he chased after Pascal.

“A couple more hits and I will be able to take her hostage.” He murmured to himself.

The black lightning strengthened his body, allowing him to move faster and hit harder.

He struck the mountain Pascal landed in and the mountain instantly fell apart. She used her sword to block the attack but still coughed up blood.

He attacked furiously, swinging left and right in a continuous fashion.

She barely blocked every attack. Her hands were numbs from the successive attacks and her organs were all shaken from the continuous beating.

They both panted heavily from exhaustion.

“Daughter, this is the end!  I will commend you on finding a good disciple like Relic. Even I didn’t think he would make it this far. Here is my last attack!”

Lightning flashed from his sword as he pierced the sword towards her shoulder.

His sword pierced directly through and blood spurted outwards. Her body flew back wards however he quickly caught up and held his sword against her throat.

“Relic, if you don’t want your master to die you will remove your domain and surrender yourself to the Roaring Heavens sect!” He shouted.

However, Relic’s eyes did not change nor did his expression waiver.

Seeing this, Botan’s eyes twitched.

“Do you not care if your master di….”

He suddenly coughed up blood.

His eyes lowered to Pascal who had her own sword pierce through her chest and into his, striking his heart.

“You….”  Blood dripped from his mouth as his consciousness blanked to black. His body fell from the sky along with Pascal who was too tired to hold herself up.

“Good Job, master.” Relic appeared and carried the immobile Pascal back to the snake.

He looked at the blade thin hole where her sword went through. He quickly gave her medicine to close up the wound.

“It is all thanks to you, disciple. Without your guidance I don’t think I could have defeated him even with your sword.” She smiled back at Him.

The two rested on top of the snake to catch their breath.  Their next battle will probably be their last.

At this moment, the entire inner sanctum was in pandemonium.
