Veer's Resolve

After completing the other official documentation, Shivam and Veer officially joined the club together.

“You can start your club activities tomorrow. Don’t be late,” Niharika said while arranging files on the desk. “You can leave now.”

Shivam and Veer thanked the club members before leaving.

“Why did you decide to join here when you are already a member of Elemental Embrace Society?” Shivam asked Veer as they walked towards the hostel.

“Well, college policy doesn’t stop anyone from joining more than one club, plus...” Veer trailed off, his tone serious.

“Plus, what?” Shivam looked at Veer’s serious face.

“Senior Niharika is... well, let’s just say she’s got a certain charm. I couldn’t resist,” Veer said with a mischievous grin.

Shivam shook his head, a smile tugging at his lips. “I should have known.”

As they walked, they noticed that every student they passed was looking at them strangely. Feeling uncomfortable by the stares, Veer approached a group of students.

“Hello everyone, sorry to disturb you, but can you tell me why you and everyone else are glaring at us?” Veer asked them directly.

“Don’t you know yet? The guy with you is Shivam, right? The one who got that high PS level on the testing. Apparently, he’s famous now. Someone put his info on the college’s notice board,” a guy in the group said while holding back laughter. “By the way, aren’t you that one fresher who got the most ideal PS? Why are you wasting your time and talent by sticking around with a guy like him? Believe me, dude, he’s got no future. He won’t even pass this year’s semester exam, and if he fails his finals as well, the college will kick him out. So why are you wasting your time?”

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

After hearing all of that, Veer understood why everyone was glaring at him and Shivam. “What happened? Why do you look so depressed all of a sudden?” Shivam asked when Veer returned.

“Nah, it’s nothing,” Veer replied nervously. “Hey, why don’t you go to the hostel alone for today? I’ll come back after completing some guild documentation.”

“Oh, okay,” Shivam replied.

When Shivam left, Veer immediately rushed toward the college’s notice board. After running for a while, he finally saw the notice board with Shivam’s photo on it. Without a moment of hesitation, he tore the poster down and threw it into the dustbin, his hands trembling with frustration.

A group of students not too far from him laughed as he threw the poster away. Veer recognized them immediately—they were from the Sky Sorcerer Club.

“How long can you save that bastard? You hit me in my own club. Just you wait, I’m going to make you regret your actions. You will beg for mercy,” said a guy with a small bandage on his nose, the voice captain of the Sky Sorcerer Club.

“You want more? Wasn’t that punch enough for you that day?” Veer mocked.

“You...” The voice captain was furious.

“Chandra, stop! We will deal with him later. Let’s just leave him for today,” another guy said to Chandra. “And as for you, kid, you are just a fresher now. As a senior, I suggest you not mess with seniors. And the complaint you registered against Chandra—take it back and submit an apology letter. The Sky Sorcerer Club will forgive you if you do that. We don’t like to be enemies with a talent like yours. You might be weak today, but you won’t be forever. But if you don’t apologize, your life in this college will not be easy.” As he spoke, the winds around them flowed in a weird pattern, making an almost invisible eagle-shaped image behind him. After saying that, he left, and the other students followed.

“I have to become stronger to protect him from these bastards,” Veer said to himself, determined to follow through.

When Veer was engaged with those seniors, Shivam was watching from afar. “That idiot, who does he think he is? Protect me? Huh,” Shivam muttered. Although Shivam said that to himself, he was touched by Veer’s actions. He also decided to get stronger to avoid causing trouble for Veer.

While Shivam was deep in thought, he felt something was missing. The fairy, who had been asleep for a long time, was not in his mind but right in front of his face.

“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!” Shivam screamed when he realized how close the fairy was. “What on earth are you? I almost had a mini heart attack,” he said, trying to regain his composure.

“You really are a...” the fairy paused before completing her sentence.

“What?” Shivam looked at the fairy strangely.

“Moron!” the fairy said. Before Shivam could interrogate her, she went back inside his mind and fell asleep.

“What is wrong with her?” Shivam was left confused again. It wasn’t long before he realized why she called him a moron. The students around him were looking at him like he was some kind of weirdo. It wasn’t their fault; anyone would think the same if someone screamed for no reason and then started talking to thin air. They couldn’t see the fairy, but Shivam didn’t know that yet.

After embarrassing himself in front of the students, Shivam finally returned to his hostel. Veer arrived later.

“Hey Veer, what took you so long?” Shivam asked while arranging his clothes.

Veer looked at Shivam nervously. “Ha ha, didn’t I tell you that I had some guild documentation left? Ha, I thought I told you,” Veer said while looking around nervously.

“I see...” Shivam said. He knew that talking about what happened in the college wouldn’t change anything, so he kept his mouth shut for the time being..
