Entry 25: Tabitha Explores the Lake of Mist (Part 3)

Tabitha jumped back, a jet of mist erupting before her, a spooked school of fish scattering underfoot. The sudden ejection reflected in her brown eyes, the rush of water droplets dispersing into the air. The pink haired girl stood in an alley (Nymph behind her). At their sides, more such jets exploded forth.

“Mist Geysers. Guess that explains the mist. These things must be scattered all over the city, but I wonder why they are active now. I don’t recall seeing any such things yesterday.”

She looked down a side alley, spying more Mist Geysers and something red (a Red Water Morph to be more precise) walk across. More gushes of mist sounded (the alley the girls stood in quite crowded with Mist Geysers).

“Follow my lead,” Tabitha spoke to Nymph, her brown eyes watching the repetitive bursts. She knew the pattern, her Curiosity skill ensured that she did. Taking Nymph’s hand, she pulled the water formed girl after her. Weaving from side to side, dashing past geysers during their rest period, the duo progressed forward.

Smiling, Tabitha turned to Nymph (a few Mist Geysers still around them). Nymph panted a bit (clearly winded from the burst of activity) but managed a slight giggle. Behind her, a Mist Geyser bellowed, giving her a burst of newfound energy as she leapt up into Tabitha’s arms.

“You do know I have no plans to be carrying you, right?” The pink haired girl sweatdropped (her brown eyes on her shivering friend).

Entry 26: Tabitha Encounters a Phantom in the Mist

A plume of mist blew upwards as they walked, the sparkling droplets of water intermixing with the ambient mist hanging in the air. Tabitha paid it no heed as Nymph followed her. By this point, she had become accustomed to such eruptions.

She glanced back to the Water Nymph behind her, the watery woman (her eyes sparkling) looking at the bellowing geyser. Tabitha smiled at the sight of Nymph, a hint of red entering her vision. Sensing something was off, the pink haired girl drew her Pan of Great Smiting +1, watching the surrounding mist.

“There!” Tabitha pushed Nymph back, meeting a clawed hand with her pan. The translucent red hand dissolved into tiny red droplets that intermixed with the surrounding mist.

“Red Water Phantom. Utilizes sneak attacks. Can dissolved into red mist. So that’s it.” The brown eyed girl looked around, noting the slight red tint to the mist. She met the thing’s razor sharp claws with her pan once more.

“Unfortunately for you, I’m not so easy to sneak attack.”

The beast’s hand pulled back. Instead of dissipating this time, the creature did the opposite, appearing to step out of the mist. The creature stood tall and wiry with a body made of red water. Its hands ended in dangerously sharp claws, and tendrils extended from its body. It just stood there (not really in a menacing fashion), its tendrils slowly swaying. Tabitha lowered her weapon (unsure what to make of the situation).
