Entry 15: Tabitha Goes Down the Stairwell

Yellowish light (amber perhaps) bathed the stairwell, the fluorescent lights possessing that familiar flicker. Tabitha poked her head over the metal railing, finding flights of stone stairs spiraling downwards. She tensed as a squelch sounded close behind her, her hands clenching the silver colored railing.

She abruptly broke to her right, fleeing down one flight of stairs after another. Her shoes tapped frantically as she descended, threatening squelches following behind her. The terrifying sounds died down as she made headway.

The pink haired girl stopped for a moment to catch her breath. She turned her brown eyes upwards, the higher portion of the stairwell staring back menacingly. Another squelch sounded, and she caught a glimpse of a disturbing red mass. She looked down the stairwell (the bottom far below). She resumed running, flying down the stone stairs, the squelching falling further and further behind.

Tabitha came to the bottom of the stairwell, stepping down onto the concrete floor. She dropped to her hands and knees in fatigue, panting heavily, sweat pouring from her. Her breath caught at the sound of flowing water.

Uneasily, she turned her worried brown eyes back to the stairwell, a drop of sweat dripping from her chin. In a mix of disbelief and horror, she watched as red water flowed down the stairs, closing in on her. Just before it reached her, she stumbled back and climbed to her feet. Quickly turning away, she fled down a brown brick tunnel, grayish concrete at her feet.

Entry 16: Tabitha Wanders Through the Tunnel

Tabitha walked along the tunnel’s brown brick wall, a cool white light shining down upon her. The flickering fluorescent lighting illuminated the many cracks within the wall, the concrete at her feet having the same sorry state to it. The pinked haired girl shivered when her hand brushed something wet.

Turning her brown eyes to the tunnel wall, she spied a trickle of water bleeding from a crack. The flowing water drained into yet another crack in the floor. The scene repeated itself numerous times with quite a bit of water coming out of the wall just to disappear into the gray concrete floor. At least this water looked normal instead of red. Paying it no mind, she continued deeper into the tunnel.

Her steps came to a sudden stop, the tunnel becoming flooded before her. She blinked in annoyance (not happy with the prospect of continuing on with wet feet). Looking back, she weighed her options.

Considering what was chasing her, going back was a no go. Sighing, she resigned herself to the soggy life, inching closer to the water’s edge. She stepped into the ankle deep water, quivering at its cool touch as it soaked through her shoes and socks. Taking a moment to get used to the feel, she shifted her weight from one leg to the other. Memories of The Realm Between Life and Death and a certain light up goddess flooded back to her. Grimacing at the thoughts, she began splashing down the tunnel.
