Entry 23: Tabitha Explores the Lake of Mist
Tabitha pulled Nymph into the alley, pressing herself flush against the wall. She edged towards the alley’s entrance and peered around the corner. Distorted humanoid creatures (Red Water Morphs) stumbled about aimlessly in the street.
“Too many of them.” The pink haired girl moved deeper into the safety of the alley. A foreboding mist hung in the city, slicking the walls of the cerulean buildings. Her clothes (heavy with condensation) stuck uncomfortably to her. Grimacing at the wet feeling, she motioned for her friend to follow.
Nymph followed closely, her water formed body jiggling slightly with each of her steps. She timidly glanced about as they crept deeper into the alley, side alleys branching off, the oppressive mist not letting up. She suddenly found herself being yanked into one of the aforementioned side allies. The watery girl swung around and grabbed onto her pink haired friend (who now crouched behind a gray dumpster).
A pair of Red Water Morphs stepped into the alley’s entrance, the misshapen pair’s movements making unsettling plops and squelches. Neither had a face yet still managed to look about with jerky motions.
“Wait here,” Tabitha reassured her friend as she retrieved her Pan of Great Smiting +1 from the Pouch of Hammerspace at her left hip. She took up position at the center of the alley, holding the pan aloft, a drop of sweat running down her cheek. In unison, the two Red Water Morphs twisted towards her, their translucent red bodies gurgling.

Entry 24: Tabitha Explores the Lake of Mist (Part 2)
“I can take them.” Tabitha held the pan at ready, her brown eyes on the two twitching monstrosities. She stood perfectly still, waiting, her feet planted firmly on the translucent lake surface. A lone fish swam by, seemingly uninterested in the impending battle.
One of the two Red Water Morphs lunged forward, but the pink haired girl was faster. She swung the pan like a sword, bisecting the monster, its halves melting into a reddish puddle at her feet.
“Guess this thing works as a cutting implement too. Not sure if I should be impressed or weirded out by that though.”
The remaining enemy took its turn, jerkily swinging its arm out. Tabitha ducked down, the sweeping attack grazing her pink locks. She rose up, twisting around and nailing the thing’s bulbous head with a kick. It reeled back from the blow, its body twitching disturbingly. With a quick slash of her pan, the red creature fell in defeat.
“Somehow, that Curiosity cheat seems to help with combat too.” The pink haired girl tossed the pan up and caught it before returning it to her Pouch of Hammerspace. “You OK back there, Nymph?”
The water made girl stepped out from behind the dumpster, giggling. Running up to Tabitha, she threw her arms around her friend, glomping onto her. Her watery body jiggled ever so slightly as she nuzzled against her friend’s chest.
“I’m glad you’re OK too, but you mind getting off?” Tabitha responded (a slight blush on her cheeks).
