Chapter 14 The Paradise Lost Arc (Start)

“This meeting is adjourned. Good fortunes to you all!” The Mistress concluded her speech as she stood

It felt like everything had went by so fast. I woke in her arms to the sight of calming waters. A momentary pleasure I’ll probably treasure for the rest of my long life. I do wish it could've lasted longer, but I guess life doesn't wait for everyone.

I was given the same of type of clothes she wore which I wear pretty nicely if I do say so myself. I’ve got myself some boob pockets as well but besides looking sexy it feels liberating to wear actual clothes. Might have myself a private dance party when I'm alone.

I guess the thing with today is that I have to say goodbye to three people who dropped into my life and are now leaving it. I guess this is what fate has in store for me. Best to change it in the future.

I watched all the supposed captains depart the ship and return to their own ones. I was close to the unmanned helm as I saw Naoko approaching me. Guess this was it. She's going to say her goodbye.

“I’m heading off.” She said “I didn’t want to leave with a goodbye.”

I’d just nod. I’ve never had to say goodbye, especially not like this.

She reached out and patted my arm and nodded.

“I don’t think you’ll find Alyssum anywhere, she’s already on her ship ready to leave.” She added "I haven't seen her either."

Figured as much…

She looked to me for a second before moving away, leaving me for good. I’d watch her board her own ship before heading to the mast, to catch some shade. Forgot I’d have to deal with the bright sun here.

“Ynnessa.” I heard the Mistress’s voice call to me

I turned to face her as she walked towards me. Huh, she was wearing an actual pirate’s hat. Kind of cool. Had a big feather and everything.

“It’s time.” She said “Follow me.”

Right, right. I wasn’t going with her either. I’d be going with some randoms. She’d escort me across to the last remaining ship. She’d embrace me into a hug and would hold me tight. Once she let go she grabbed my face and titled it up to look at her.

“Remember my words. Only you can forge your desired future, but you must place yourself on the path first.” She said

I nodded twice to her words. Bright new future for me.

She’d let go of me and would return to her own ship, looking back to me she spoke.

“I’ve made arrangements, you’ll have your desired room below deck. I trust the captain, you can too.” She said

“T-Thank..you..” I said before everything went into motion

Over the next few hours the distance between each ship grew more and more until I could barely see any of them. The wind was quite strong today as well. It’s making my hair fly all over. But despite being midday I feel exhausted. I’d head below deck to find my room.

It didn’t take long to find it, and it was much like the one I woke up in a day before. I guess the captain’s quarters were the ones that could have any style. Makes sense…I think at least.

Stepping inside I’d close the door and lock it then I’d move to sit on my bed. I didn’t know what to feel to be honest. Of course I was sad, but I couldn’t just cry about it all day.

It’s awfully quiet…

Oh! Right! Completely forgot I could level up. Should probably do that right now before anything else.

I’d open up my inventory and a pop up appeared asking me if I wished to level up. I’d nod and then the classic red, green and blue bars would appear asking which I would like to invest into. But since this was Highlander mechanics it did show how much that one bar would increase to.

My Health would increase to seventy-five while my Stamina would reach fifty-five. My Mana would reach two hundred and fifty which was pretty good. But like I said before, we going into health. I’m not dying anytime soon!

I’d reach out and would tap the red bar which would grow slightly. A new pop up appeared with all the stats increased from my time in prison and after that I’d be brought back to my inventory.

Don’t get cool shit until later…fuck…

And like that everything is quiet again. I sighed as I laid down and stared at the ceiling.

The fuck am I going to do? Maybe work on wands? Perfect the craft or something? I’m not exactly made to be a sailor. And I've been hyping up making wands, but haven't done shit with the idea and knowledge. I guess it doesn't matter since I lost my notebook and any access to magical study books.

I’d sit up.

I’m not going to be lonely if I do this.

I’d extend my hand and would summon my skeleton summon.

Materializing in front of me the first thing he’d do is look around the place. I can guess it was probably odd for him to be in a cave and now in a shack, room, thing…whatever it's called..

My summon’s gaze would then turn to me. He’d get on a knee and would bow his skull. He’s just staying there. Why is he doing that? So, I guess I was right about conscience thing.

But why is he bowing? Does he feel guilty or something?

“I..um…It’s…alright…” I’d say to him

To my words he’d stand up and would return his…dormant state I guess? It’s hard to determine his emotions since he’s a…skeleton and all. The lack of eyes doesn't help either. You know I thought having an actual skeleton summon would be terrifying for me, but it doesn't seem that extreme if that makes sense.

“Y-You…can….sit…..anywhere….” I’d awkwardly motion around the room

He’d just move to sit at the edge of my bed. I guess this is going to be a quiet kind of journey. Between us at least...

I’d lay back down onto my bed, my breasts moving around as I did, I can say goodbye to jumping in bed if I don't want to get slapped in the face with my own tits. I wonder if a boob tent would be better and make the jiggling not be as intense. Definitely no skimpy armors for me, mage armors aren’t as skimpy from what I remember, but I’m not going to jinx it.

I’d yawn as I laid there. I was tired, huh? My eyes would blink slowly. Guess I’m fading to sleep. I’d lift my head to look at my summon, I should probably give him a name.

“I’m…going…to…sleep…” I’d tell him

He’d glance back and would at least I think give me an acknowledging look. Thinking for a second I’d sit up and would look at him. I think I’ve got a name for him.

“Can…I…call..you…Talos?” I’d ask him

He looked up at me again, his empty eye holes staring at me for a second before nodding. Suddenly, right above him a nameplate would appear. I think he likes the name. I like to think it’s fitting for a soon to be mighty summon. Reforging the standard summon spell costs a bit in time, but man is it worth it.

Once our little naming session was over I laid back down into bed and threw half the cover over me. Then I’d slowly drift to sleep.

A familiar cold washed over me. I felt like I was in some sort of limbo, both present and not present at once if that makes any sense. I felt myself drifting forward. And just for a split second I could see something. It looked like a person, but I couldn’t make out any details before my body jolted up from the bed.

A shiver went through my body as I looked around, Talos was gone and the room looked a bit different. It looked..damp? And a little wet?

My body was suddenly thrown forward, but I managed to catch myself on the hanging light. The entire room began to shake violently left and right. Something was, well, obviously off. The second everything seemed mildly stable I let myself go and fell to the floor, then I headed to the door, but whatever was happening wasn’t making it easy.

As I struggled to open the door I could start to hear the commotion from other side and probably from the upper deck. I’m going to make a guess that we’re in a storm. A really bad one. Unless there's a sea monster or giant squid. Jesus, the ocean is a scary place when you think about it.

The shaking of the ship got more violent as I got out into the hall. I summoned Talos to help a bit with movement. It was a struggle to even get near the upper deck, but whatever the hell kind of storm was happening had already rearranged half the ship from my guessing.

The second I peaked my head out I was splashed with water. I swear if I lose these clothes I’m going to be annoyed.

The wind was worse than before. The night sky was anything but clear. I could hear thunder along with the splashes. Glimpses of lighting as well almost every five seconds. With the help of Talos I climbed up and reached the mast and held on. I’m thinking it’s better to be thrown into the sea than be crushed by furniture.

The yells of the crew were inconsistent to say oddly. They were all distant, but some of them suddenly stopped or the yells turned into screams. Were we being attacked? I don’t remember any monsters that could use storms like this or, rather creatures that attack during storms like this. It couldn’t be sirens, I was sure. Not even sea harpies or hydras. Or sea dragons.

Man..the ocean and sea are terrifying. I can’t remember the difference between the two right now. I guess that’s what happens in life and death situations.

Then I heard it. It sounded like twisted foghorn. I could feel the sea itself move as I stood on the ship. I glance to where the sound was coming from and saw something moving.

To call it gigantic would be an insult, it was…much more bigger than that. A humanoid form, but you could see the moving lightning go around it a hundred times over. There’s no fucking way that’s the Storm Lord. There’s no fucking way…

Why the hell is that thing in the realm of mortals? It makes no fucking sense!

As my thoughts run wild of theories and questions as to why this deity is even present I see it turn this way. The small turn from it causes major ripples in the waters. The phenomena in lore known as “Running Lightning” happened.

Multiple streaks of pure lightning shooting across, right above the waters. The impact into the ship was inevitable, along with the time it took.

By the time I knew what happened the ship was torn into three, maybe four pieces and I was falling in the air. I couldn’t focus on anything before a piece of wood knocked me in the head making me lose consciousness.

I felt something poke me, well, a few things. I also felt like my boobs were hurting for some reason. Then the faint sounds of..people talking? I didn't think I was that close to land. Maybe I was asleep for a while?

“An Elf?” the blurry voice said

“Is she dead?” another asked

“She’s breathing.” a third spoke

“What should we do?”

“Take her home. We can’t let a sister die.”

Sister? I can’t be in my homeland. That would be impossible. Maybe it’s a cultural thing? That might be it. I can’t exactly open my eyes right now since I feel weak and fatigued.

I felt my body being lifted from wherever I was laying, the pain in my boobs was also gone suddenly. My hearing wasn’t clearing up either. I started feeling numb again until I was out cold. My mind was blank of everything. But then I felt the feeling of my body laying against something.

Slowly, I opened my eyes to find myself a decently sized room. The walls weren’t stone I noticed off the bat, couldn’t place what it was made out of. Sitting up I realized that even the feeling of the bed was different from what I’ve experienced so far.

Now the question is where the hell am I? And…oh come on…

I’m in different clothes, fuck I liked those pirate garbs. Now I’ve got a boob tent. But..wait…these look oddly familiar.

I think it’s called a chlamys? Wait that’s Greek. I know where I am then. I’m south of the Kingdom of Man. What was this place called again? Olympia, I think.

I move my legs to the edge of the bed and place them on the floor. It’s not cold which is nice, but being in this area means that the weather is going to get hot. I’m not the biggest fan of the heat I should say.

Before I could sit up I heard some shuffling from outside the room. I glanced to where the door is to see a young Human woman step inside with a bowl in her hand. At the sight of me her eyes went wide with a smile and she turned around.

“She’s awake!” she yelled

The accent was a bit off from Kom, you know what? Kingdom of Man as Kom doesn’t sound terrible, let’s just shorten it to that for now. But like I was saying, the accent was clearly different from Kom. The woman also had more of a brown skin tone and darker hair than the Humans I've seen so far. She looked about in her mid-thirties I think.

She placed the bowl down and approached me, picking up my hand and kneeling down.

“How are you feeling?” she asked me

“F-Fine..” I replied

“We found you on the beach passed out. You’re lucky you got washed up here, friend Elf.” She explained

I honestly have no idea what distance I was from this place at all. I might have been drifting for days or just hours. Maybe I was ragdolled for a few miles by the Running Lightning. Guess it doesn’t matter at the moment.

“We..?” I asked

Before she could further elaborate about three other women entered the room almost climbing over each other. All of them were Humans, but they were also much younger than the woman in front of me.

“Are you okay?” one asked

“Any lingering pain?” the second one asked

“Where are you from?” the third chipped in

“I..uh..” I was a bit caught off guard at the sudden questions

“Girls!” the woman in front of me let go of my hand and stood “Let her breathe. She probably has no clue where she is.” She said

“Why didn’t you tell her then?” the second girl asked

She was the shortest out of all of us actually. She was shorter than me which was surprising. She looked at me.

“You’re on Themiscyra.” She said

Oh.

Honestly?

I’ve got no complaints. This is probably the best location I could’ve ended up in. Especially now as a woman. There should be plenty of tombs and caves ripe for grinding. I can probably get to level ten in a week if I put in the work. Or I could just retire here, but I don’t think that’s the best plan.

I’m somewhere in the south of Olympia then. Athens is much more north. I wonder if there’s still war between the gods here and the Hobgoblin Lords. I should be safe from any type of conflict like that to be honest.

“O-Oh. G-Good..to..know..” I replied “W-Who..are..you…all?” I asked after

The eldest of the four clapped her hands.

“Apologies. I am Jocasta. These three are my daughters. Aglaia, Chryse and Nephele.” She said

The tallest out of the three daughters stepped forward and bowed her head.

What’s that one color of brown? Auburn? That’s the color her hair had, her eyes were also a lighter shade of brown. Her figure resembled that of volleyball girl to be honest. She was probably an athlete. She had plenty of cake to show if you get my meaning.

For reference, Themiscyra is the home of the so called Amazons in Greek myth. So, there are no men here. But in Highlander, Themiscyra isn’t just a city. It’s the entire island which is pretty big. Half the size of Crete I think. Everything has their old Greek names besides a few locations.

I’d acknowledge Aglaia with a nod.

The middle girl, Chryse would step forward and bow her head like her sister before. Unlike her other sisters her hair was black, but her skin was the lightest as well. Her figure was slim and she had some cleavage to show.

I’d nod to her as well.

Finally, the youngest I’m guessing would step forward. Hair almost red like an apple, her skin like olive. She had a smug look to her. Nephele had the most normal eyes out of the three. She was also flat out front. She might be one of those egotistical short girls I’ve heard of online, but I might be wrong because well…you know..

“I..I’m..Ynnessa..” I said

“Pleasure to have you in our home, Ynnessa.” Jocasta said

I’d just nod, not knowing what to say

“Please, rest. If you need anything we’ll be downstairs.” She said

The four of them crawled back out, or well, Jocasta dragged the three back out.

Well..

This is certainly one way to start a new chapter in my life.
