Virion laid flat on the bed for him. A book laid over his face. His snores filled the room he was given on the main airship. The ships were unable to pass through due to the barrier over the mountain. The captain was dreaming of his home, like usual for him.
However they were being invaded with an old friend, Grimm.
“That bastard.” Virion awoke from his dreams, only thinking about Grimm. “Been nearly 18 years since our last real fight. I wonder how much both of us have changed. Because I for sure am living in a different world.” Virion said to himself in the mirror of the room.
He looked to his many scars from the past. The most important, being the one above his waist. From his time when he and Grimm were rookies. He would challenge Grimm all the time, and always lose. He sighed looking at it.
“Ahh, fuck those days. I should get married when I get back.” The captain smiled thinking about it. “She’ll be mad at me, but I know she’ll say yes when she hears about Grimm. Especially if I bring her some exotic fruit.”
He smiled to himself before being interrupted by knocking on his door. His expression dropped as he went to answer the door. It was a regular foot soldier.
“What is it?” He asked sternly.
“Sir! We’ve received word of a spotting of Grimm.” Virion’s eyes squinted a little.
“Where?”
“By the front line of ships. He’s within the barrier. They spotted him with a tall cyan haired woman who appears to be some sorceress.” The description made Virion furious. He grabbed the soldier by the collar.
“WHAT! YOU TELLING ME HE FOUND ANOTHER SORCERESS!” The smaller man quivered in fear.

“Sir…”
“Come on, let ‘em down captain.” A voice appeared from behind Virion. He turned to see his second in command, Kal. Virion let go of his victim and left to lean over the edge of the ship. “Here. I brought you your favorite.”
Kal offered his captain a freshly made hamburger. A favorite not only for Virion, but his love as well.
"So. Are you serious about marriage " Kall asked. Making the captain turn quickly with an embarrassed face.
"You were listening!"
"You aren't really the light talker." Kal defended.
"That doesn't matter stay out of my business jackass!" He pushed his second in command away. Then turned back to the ledge. Kal knew exactly what expression he had. He could sense that the captain wanted to cry. Seeing someone he despises yet wanted so badly to be like. It hurt him more than any blade or magic.
"Hey. You know what i do when I’m down?” Kal asked.
“You sing those terrible songs.” Virion already knew the answer.
“I sing the best song ever from the world's greatest voice. My purpose for joining the knights is that I hope to one day kneel before the songstress, and take her hand in marriage.” Kal clamored on about. Virion sighed at the man.
“You know, Maybe you wouldn’t sound as insufferable if you took off that damn helmet.” Virion yelled.
“No can do boss. Removing this helmet will reveal my beautiful face. And If i do that, then all the women of the land will flock to me like birds. I have to save myself for my one true love.”
“Well if you’re going to sing do it somewhere else.” Virion said angrily walking away.
“What about Grimm? He’s on the move again with that boy you spoke of.” Kal wondered.
“Leave them be. I’m sure that the person controlling the barrier is within that group. They’ll have no choice but to dispel it at some point. They know we're here, and they’ll be waiting for us. I’m going to lay back down.” Virion said leaving the deck and heading back into his room. However he did not immediately retreat to his bed. Instead, he let his mind imagine.
In his mind the room turned into an indoor bath, fit for only him and her. Both were completely nude in the steam. She sat by the water. Her feet dipped inside and let one of her hands flow through.
She turned to notice the man, and returned with a warm smile. He came closer, and the two descended into the hot water, wrapped in each others arms.
In this moment of imagination, he felt completely safe and happy.
However it didn't allow itself to last very long. He looked up to his lover, and she had changed. Into a completely different woman. A woman he long knew. A woman he long remembers.
Her body then began to break, then shattered like glass, and the bathhouse now became a void of darkness.
He turned his head in all directions. Until he noticed bright blue eyes. They began to approach.
From the darkness, a reaper came for him, bearing it’s large scythe. It lifted it above, then slash down on the nude knight.
Virion snapped back to reality. He still stood where he was, and had only one thing to take from that.
“I guess I still love her.”
