Book Two: Chapter 6

Sora, Maxor, and Garan stopped under a tree in the middle of a forest. It wasn't far from the town, but nobody else was there.

"Can you now explain what is going on?" Garan asked.

Sora rubbed her fingers through her long blonde hair. "Okay….. I am actually a man, trapped inside the body of a woman."

Garan scratched his trunk. "Why didn't you tell me before?"

Sora shrugged. "I was trying to find a good time to tell you."

Garan laughed. "The time is now I suppose."

"Sorry, but it is true. That Lich King stole my body. Now he is using it for himself."

"Then let's fight him," said Maxor. "He's at Northon, right?"

"It's not that simple," said Sora. "He is powerful."

"So. I have beaten foes who were bigger than me. You need not become bigger to fight a sorcerer."

Garan held up his finger. "And great intelligence can triumph."

Sora wished that was easy. Fighting a level one hundred player would take longer to win at Sora’s current level unless Sora could find a stronger weapon. Something that could break through the player’s defense and inflict as much damage as possible. Lucillia may have trapped all the players, but he still has to obey the game rules.

She leaned against the tree with her arms crossed. “Maxor, do you know anyone who found a hidden dungeon?”

“Maybe, why do you want to know?” Maxor asked.

“All hidden dungeons have special weapons that can make anyone strong. If we can find one, we can get good weapons to defeat the Lich King. They might be our only hope to save the world.”

“I heard hidden dungeons are very dangerous,” Garan informed, “and the loot is random.”

Sora knew that, but where else could they find special weapons and gear? If there were still hidden dungeons around before the Lich King took over, then other players will hunt them down. And they won’t give up their gear when their lives depended on them.

“I came from a thieves' guild who knows many secret places,” said Maxor. “One of them should know where a hidden dungeon is located.”

Sora smiled. “Good! Then let’s meet them!”

Maxor rubbed the back of his head. “Ssssssssure, but there is one problem.”

Sora’s heart dropped. “What problem?”

“Iiiiiiiiiiiii….. Got exiled.”

Garan shrugged. “Why does that matter?”

Maxor held out his palms. “They told me if I return-” He slid his finger across his throat. “Cut!”

“They’ll kill you?”

“What do you think?”

Sora sighed. “So much for someone who might know.”

“Nonsense!” Garan exclaimed. “We can talk to them, and we will use brute force if they try to harm us.”

Sora nodded. “Wonderful choice.”

Maxor widened his eyes. “Didn’t you hear me? They will-”

Sora glared at him. “You got a problem with Garan’s decision?”

The wolf shook his head. “Nevermind. I’m sure I can negotiate with them. They’re not barbarians.”

“Then take us to them now. Many people are probably dying now.”

Maxor shrugged. “As you wish.”
