The lizard man swung his tail, swiping Maxor off his feet. He jumped over the fallen and dashed toward the door.
Garan stepped in front of him, but Ectol slid through Garan’s legs and sprinted outside.
Sora pulled Maxor up and rushed toward the door. “Come on!”
Outside, Sora looked to the right and left. Her eyes caught Ectol running down the street.
“Stop!” Sora raced after him, not worrying about Maxor and Garan behind her. If Ectol gets away, Sora might not find him again. He definitely knew where the body snatcher was, but he won’t give up his intel without a chase.
Ectol looked backed as Sora caught up to him. He pulled a cart down, spilling fruits and vegetables to the ground. A white mouse merchant nearby shouted, “Hey!”
Sora leaped over the products and pushed the merchant out of her way.
Ectol sprinted into a thong of villagers at a marketplace. Rats, cats, and dogs were strolling about, checking out the vendors. If Sora doesn’t keep moving, she could lose him in the crowd.
She squeezed past a tall bear warrior and a pig lady. Moving through a big crowd was the worse place to catch a lizard.
Sora stopped in the middle of the crowd and looked around. She couldn't see Ectol anywhere among the crowd. Too many NPCs and players were roamed around her.
This is getting hopeless! Sora spotted a little raccoon girl in a pink dress, licking a lollipop. Modern candy does exit inside the game world, except they have their own brands.
For the heck of it, Sora approached the little NPC. She annoyed the girl's notification. "Excuse me! Did you see a reptile man passed through here? He's tall, long snort, and he is wearing a hood."

The raccoon girl sneered at Sora. "Pay me!"
Sora's ears twitched as if she has to listen to the girl again. "What?"
The girl held out her little black hand. "Pay me, and I'll tell."
Sora rolled her eyes. She doesn't have time to argue an NPC, programmed to act like a child. If she scourged the NPC, the guards would kick her out of town. Then she would lose the slave trader for good. "Okay, how much?"
The raccoon girl smiled. "One gold."
That's cheap. Sora handed the girl one gold. Sometimes NPCs were unpredictable.
The raccoon girl pointed her lollypop at an alley across the street. "He went in there."
"Thanks!" Sora rushed toward the alley. Indeed, it was a good place to escape through without running into many flocks of people.
Sora raced into the alley between two tall cabin buildings. Without warning, something landed on her and stuck a blade through her back.
Sora
HP: 25
The fox girl punched the lizard man off her. She rose and faced him.
Ectol got up next and pointed a knife at her. "Stay away from me!"
Sora pulled out her broadsword. "All you have to do is tell me where your buyer is."
"Revealing my buyers is bad business!" Ectol raised his blade up and charged.
It looked like Sora will have to fight him. However, she doesn't want to kill him. Dead NPCs couldn't tell anything.
Before the lizard reached her, Maxor landed on top of Ectol and punched him.
Ectol
Unconscious for five minutes.
Sora sighed and placed her sword back into her sheath. "Thank you."
Maxor rose over the lizard's body. "That was a good drop I gave him. Next time you should try running across rooftops. Quicker to reach targets."
"Okay." Sora glanced at Ectol. "Let's make this greenskin talk, somewhere private."
Maxor rubbed his chin with a grin. "I got a good idea."
