Chapter #66 Growing

I followed them through the forest sucking up everything I saw. They were hunting a 10 year heartbeast that was a gazelle.

We snuck up on it and the leader of the group shot an arrow through it."Ill carry it I said". They all agreed and sucked it into my bag. Normally they would have to carry it together. "Thank you". They said to me."Your welcome".

With that, we made our way back to the outpost. "Why is there no cannons on the wall I asked them. "Because everyone here is a warrior if a powerful heartbeasts comes we will just kill it".

"Oh okay," I said. I pulled out my bag and pulled out the gazelle and gave it to them. This bag was going to change my life. "I had to be careful with it as everyone who would see it would know its a treasure". With my snacks secured which was all the ten year fruit I sucked up I went home the number on my arm said 100. I didn't know how much my could store but I knew it was a lot. And nothing rotted while t was in the bag. I had got the hang of using it to suck stuff in, then I would reach my hand in and grab out whatever I thought about.

I went to bed as it had become night and been an eventful day.

The next day I got up I had accomplished all of the things that I had come to this outpost to do. I felt the want to visit the exchange outpost. There were going to be some wagons that were going there today. The supply route had wagons that moved goods between the three outposts and the sand bar. I knew one wagon was going to the exchange outpost today. I walked out of the outpost and onto the road. I found a wagon that only had a few chests in it. The driver was sitting on the front of the wagon. "Can I get a ride with you?" I asked. "Yes you can but you have to pay me." I dumped out half of my ten year fruit into one of his chest and he said I could ride with him after that. The wagon train was escorted by the most powerful warriors of the three camps. It had to be as the wagons were slow.

I noticed in the back of the wagons that the spatial chest could hold a lot these chests must have been made at this outpost. I sat in the back until with a jolt the wagon started moving. It was an uneventful journey we made it to the other camp I was in the back of the wagon so I didn't get to see the scenery change. We stopped and I looked out and there was a tall fence made of wood. Eventually, we got let in. This was the home of the crafters as they used mana to generate resources so most of the people here weren't warriors but were instead crafters. As soon as the wagon stopped I got out and saw a huge crossbow mounted on the highest point in town. That must be how this outpost defends itself. I made my way to the place where the leader of the outpost would be. I went to the bottom of the crossbow and asked the man there about housing.

"Where am I supposed to stay?" I asked him

"Just find an empty house and live there".

"Okay thank you I said to him.

With that I ventured farther away from the middle of town to the outskirts. I found a empty home that wasn't being used and I decided to make it mine. I put a note on the door saying somebody lived here. I spent the rest of the day outside I pulled the couch outside from inside my house. And laid on it while thinking about all the stuff I was going to make. I waited and at the end of the day I had three hundred mana. The next day I got out of bed and decided to explore the town. The first place I went was the crafting building the crafting chest was in the basement and it was heavily guarded and constantly watched. There was a fee for using the chest you had to give part of what you made to the outpost. This was to ensure that there was a steady stream of raw materials going to the island and the other outposts. I went into the crafting room and looked over all of the things that I could make. I found some mana iron ore and put it I the chest and then I poured 100 mana in and out came the mana ore.

I picked it up put the mana iron ore back and went to sell it I had to give some to the outpost but the other I traded in for five days worth of food in the cafeteria.

After that I climbed the staircase up to where the crossbow was. I got a good look around and what I saw was endless plains in all directions.

I went to the cafeteria to get some food. They were serving elk I guess that's what there was to hunt on the plains. It was ten year elk and it tasted very good. i went to the crafting building again and got a book on what materials the outpost head and how they wee used. It was the most useful thing I could grab. I went home and started to read while laying on my couch outside. There was a great many things I wanted all of the good stuff was at the back. The book started out with the easiest stuff to make and then progressed to the harder stuff to make. I stayed out in the sun all day until it got dark and it was time to go to bed.
