Chapter 36# Shadow Clone

Chapter 36# Shadow Clone

To apologize I should make a ring that and drinking were the only things that I excelled at.

The mana number on my arm was 103 so I didn't use up all of my mana.

I should stay inside today and just watch grand elders adventure.

I could hear the raindrops start to fall anyway.

With a click, my glasses turned on.

I was back in the forest greenery surrounded me everywhere.

The trees seemed to be over 50 feet tall as they stretched into the heavens.

The strange thing was that out of the corner of my vision was a small girl.

Now that didn't make sense at all I couldn't think of a reason for her to be there at all. She looked young but I could tell she had an ability active.

So she must be at least 16 grand elder kept gesturing to her with his hands.

I get it! Shes his apprentice he is kind of old.

If she was 16 that meant she was a year younger then me.

Even though I drank a lot and went to the bar I was 17.

So it was nice to see another person my age interacting with grand elder.

With a slight of hand, he seemed to be showing her the way around the forest.

It didn't seem like there would be anything interesting that happened. But right as I was about to tune off something happened.

She ran into the field to try and loot a dead creature the looked like a wildebeest.

Out of the darkness lept a feral heartbest cat it grabbed her in its jaws and shook her apart.

But she just disappeared in a puff of smoke.

That wasn't her she must have a temporary cloning ability.

Because when grand elder looked to his right she was there coughing up blood.

He quickly grabbed her and carried her while he shadow stepped away.

Looks like she was a great apprentice because a bad apprentice would have died from that.

I hope I could still get some meals even though he was training an apprentenice.

Wouldnt that be horrible if his way of punishing me was to take away my food.

That sunk me into a pool of fear.

I better apologize to him soon.

And the best way to apologize was to make him a present.

I guess I would have to put off my drinking ability ring.

Besides I had to go back to the island pretty soon to fulfill my promise with Q.

With grand elders' ability, he must have selected a genius of an apprentencie.

If I made her a ring he would definitely forgive me.

The day passed while I thought about endless rings too make her.

The next day I was up too 200 mana because the chef had cooked really good regen food. Now I could average about 100 mana a day if I stayed inside all day.

So I spent the majority of my time in front of the sunlight.

Elder would take his apprentice out with him everyday and he still managed to provide 100 year beasts for me.

And when he didn't I would be fed from the bison.

That was enough it was time to go meet his apprentice not that I had close to enough mana.

I waited until they were on there way back from the forest.

Then I ran out too the gate were cannon man was.

He still refused to acknowledge me, he was a real defense nerd I thought to myself.

I stood in front of him and copied his pose he still didn't say anything.

I wonder what would happen if I tried to draw on his face?

Someday I would have to try it.

"I came here to get grand elder to come with me to make a drinking ring."

His face got red but he still didn't say anything.

"So I just have one question. When we drinking and riding around in the wagon how did it start flying?"

He was fine with answering that question it seemed.

"We had to stop the wagon you were going to fast for us to use force so I had one of my friends use his ability to bring it slightly off the ground so it stopped. Your firework show woke up the entire outpost. You mess around."

It seemed like he wanted to start cussing but restrained himself.

I had an idea for getting under his skin.

"Cannon man do you have a family in the outpost?"

That question seemed to cheer him up he answered "Yes, I have a lovely wife and two beautiful daughters."

"How old are your daughters?" I asked while pretending to not care.

"The eldest is 19 and the youngest is 16."

"You should really invite me over to eat sometime," I asked

He seemed to catch on too where this was going it made him even madder. I finally got a reaction he turned looked me in the eyes and said.

"If you even think of coming near my daughters I don't care what grand elder says. I'll make sure you wish you were never born. They would never like a worthless drunk like you anyway."

Now I was definitely going to meet them. But I kept that thought in my head.
