Chapter 16: Training Room

Chapter 16: Training Room

When Isa walked through the door, she saw a large room, massive actually, and she knew that she could change anything within the room with just a thought. Whether that be the material the room was made of, it was a rectangular metal box.

Once she had looked around sufficiently, a hologram appeared and slowly became more and more real-looking. The hologram, now something touchable, said, "Welcome to the training room. I am this room's avatar and can do various things. If you have questions about this room, I am the one to ask. I also was given a special skill, the art of swordsmanship. I am currently at the rank of Divinity. Divinity is the rank above Grandmaster that allows for the suffusion of mana into the weapon. Once you master pieces of Divinity, you can do various things with the mana to the point that you can change the blade to various forms and lengths with just your thoughts. The ranking system goes: Untrained, Newbie, Experienced, Proficient, Expert, Master, Grandmaster, and Divinity. You are currently Untrained. Would you like to start training?"

Isa had no idea what to say and what came out of her mouth was, “Uhhhh….”

Isa thought about what had just been said for a minute and realized she was here to train Evie, not herself.

"As an avatar of this place, I can extend my senses of this room to you, allowing you to always watch what is happening without conscious thought. This will allow for both you and your familiar to train at the same time. I ask again, would you like to train?" the avatar said.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

Isa looked at the avatar and said, “You need a name. I am going to name you Francis. Are you okay with that?”

“Of course, young missus”.

"Give me a minute to change most of this room into an obstacle course for Evie, and then I will take you up on the training."

"As young missus says," Francis responded.

Isa worked for a good 10 minutes to set the obstacle course for Evie. Isa could tell it would be much faster the next time she did something like this; she was just getting the hang of the room's controls.

Once she was done, Isa turned to Evie, who had been silently following her, and thought to her, "Go, show me what you can do." Evie bolted off and attempted the course. Isa had made it easy, primarily for muscle gain and to minimize Evie's debuff.

Isa realized she could teleport and didn't have to walk over to Francis. So she did.

"I'm ready," Isa told Francis.

“Very good, young missus. Can you see Evie even as you’re talking with me? I sent my perception of this room to you.”

"Yes, thank you for that; it will help tremendously with using this room."

Isa was watching Evie and saw that she was failing at almost everything, but was still trying. And getting better every time she did something. Isa was happy with the cat's determination and hoped she never lost that.

"Okay, young miss, we will start with footwork."
