Chapter 9: Izuku Midoriya Can't Stand School. (1)
I got up the next morning, and slowly got out of bed. Checking myself in the mirror once again, only to see something rather surprising.
Thankfully, my body was mostly the same. But there was a pretty big key difference.
My eyes. They looked sharper, and more worryingly… were glowing a bright green.
"What the?" I asked myself, as I looked more closely at my eyes, which was when I noticed that… it wasn't all that bright of a glow, just a bright color of green… in fact, it was a rather dull glow all things considered, and would only be really visible when it's dark.
Eventually, I decided to just chalk it up to my quirk being weird and went on with my day.
I made sure to have a quick breakfast, had a shower, got dressed in my Aldera Junior High Uniform, and said goodbye to mom before heading off to school. And by the time I actually stepped out? I was already dreading it.
Aldera Junior High, it was the one place that I honestly hated the most in the world. Filled with bullies, from the students to the damn teachers… all of whom I couldn't do anything against, due to them having Quirks.
Walking to the gate of the school, I heard some whispers from the various other students who were coming to school.
"Whoa! Who's the hunk?"
"Hey, doesn't that guy look kind of like Deku?"
"Is there a transfer student?"
I just ignored them, as I continued walking into the school. People seemed to think that I was some sort of transfer student or a relative of 'Deku'… or both.
Eventually, I made my way into class, and saw that nobody was there, not even the teacher… so I quickly sat into my own chair and pulled out my notebook.
After all, I might as well come up with some possible usages for my Stands, while I’m waiting for everyone else to come in.
"Hmm, maybe I could have [Ocean Man] secrete its stamina-sapping goo into its tentacles to quickly take out villains from a range?" I muttered to myself, as I sketched out the Stand in my notepad, detailing its various strengths and weaknesses.
“Or perhaps I could use [Grimm] to quickly speed blitz a Villain? She doesn’t have much strength, but she could definitely make for an excellent distraction… or even outright defeat the weaker villains”
“Maybe I should try to beat Kacchan at something? His Quirk would be incredibly useful as a Stand…”
But, I was so focused on writing in my notebook, that I didn't even notice as someone walked into the classroom.
"Deku?" The voice of a girl asked questioningly, as I turned up to look at who it was… ah, it was one of my classmates.
She had a fairly pretty face, covered by a pair of large square glasses, and long braided brown hair… and she was wearing the Aldera girl’s school uniform.
If I remembered correctly, this was… Saki Yoshida, a girl whom I've shared classes with since I first started school. And I’m pretty sure that she had some sort of telekinesis-based quirk.
"Ah, hello there Yoshida-san," I said with a smile, as the girl looked me up and down, a confused look on her face.
"…What happened to you?" She asked with a simple head tilt.
"My Quirk finally came in!" I said with a smile, causing her to smile slightly in return.
"Oh? Congratulations, uh… Izuku?" Saki said with a slightly confused look on her face, as if… she hadn't actually known my name, "So… what's your Quirk?"
"Ah, it's actually pretty interesting-" I started, before being suddenly interrupted when the sliding door slammed open, causing me to turn to the disturbance to see… Kacchan.
"DEKU!" Kacchan shouted out, as he quickly launched himself with an explosion to my desk, "What the hell is this that I heard from Auntie Inko about you finally getting your Quirk!? And not TELLING ME!?"
"A- ah, hey there Kacchan," I said with a smile, as he seemed to stop to actually take in my appearance for a moment… a blush of what must have been embarrassment reaching his cheeks. Maybe he just noticed how rude he was being?
"Tch" Kacchan clicked his tongue in annoyance, before putting his focus on Saki, who looked utterly terrified if the small yelp she gave out was anything to go by, "And what the hell are you doing, talking to Deku"
"I- I was just curious?" Saki said fearfully, as she backed away from Kacchan.
"Yeah, I bet you were! You fucking extra!" Kacchan growled out, as Saki quickly went back to her seat which was… directly behind me. Huh, never noticed that.
I turned around and sent her a small smile, which caused Kacchan to get even angrier as he whirled back around to me.
"Now, listen here, Deku! And listen well! Just because you've got a Quirk! And a-all of those muscles! Doesn't mean that you're gonna be able to beat me when it comes to being Number One!" Kacchan shouted, as he glared at me, "And if you think for even a second that you're gonna be able to make it into UA? Then you'll be sorry!"
"So… what you're saying is that you think I'll actually be able to make it as a Hero if I go to a different Hero School?" I said with a slight grin, causing Kacchan to sputter indignantly, "Thanks Kacchan!"
"Sh-shut up, idiot!" Kacchan shouted, as he looked away for a few seconds before turning back to me, "What even is your quirk anyway?"
"Ah well, it's-" I started, before getting interrupted again. But this time, it was by the rest of the class and the teacher finally walking into the classroom.
So, Kacchan grumbled as he made his way over to his seat, and the teacher began the role call.
The teacher then started to drone on, taking various students' names.
"Suji?" The teacher asked, causing the student next to me on my right to raise his hand. He seemed familiar… and just like that, I remembered who he was!
"I'm here!" Oki Suji was a bit of a meathead, but his Quirk was pretty good, allowing him to instantly bulk up into the size of a goliath… it'd definitely be good for Hero work, as if I remembered correctly? He gained strength proportionate to his size. Perhaps with some training he could bulk up even further? But that’s just a small theory, and not all based in fact.
"Alright. Akamatsu?" The teacher asked, causing the student to my left to raise her hand.
"I'm here, sir!" Homura Akamatsu was a pretty cheerful girl, and if I recalled, she had a really good Quirk that let her transform her entire body into fire. A very destructive ability, but incredibly good for combat. She could become a sort of second Endeavor, if she wanted to be a Hero.
"Bakugo?" The teacher asked, causing Kacchan to raise his hand with a growled 'Here'.
And finally, he made his way to me… before looking at me with a shocked expression.
"…Midoriya?" The teacher questioned, as he looked at me strangely, as if he was seeing an entirely new person.
"Here, sir," I said as I sat slightly straighter, seeing that several of my fellow students were now staring at me in complete shock.
"That's Midoriya? What the hell!?"
"I thought he got kicked out for being quirkless or left or something?"
"Oh god he's hot- oh my god I just said Deku was hot… I’m gonna die!"

I just sighed slightly at hearing all of those whispers, slumping in my chair as I decided to just focus on my classwork.
Thankfully, the bell eventually rang and it was lunch time… while everyone else ran out to go play or do stuff with their friends, I had to figure out just what I was going to do.
I eventually took a deep calming breath, before I quickly walked out of the classroom.
These people have denigrated and mocked me for my entire life… and now they've been whispering about how 'cool' and 'handsome' I looked, and theorizing about what my quirk must have been
If I heard yet another theory about how my quirk just has to be 'Attraction of Hot Things' or something like that because of my parents' quirks?… I was going to scream.
So, as I walked out onto the school grounds, I saw that Saki was sitting by herself… and every other seat was taken. So, I quickly walked over and sat across from her. At least she seemed nice enough… and from what I remembered, she didn't really take part in the bullying, mostly acting as a bystander if anything.
"Hey," I said softly, as she looked at me for a moment before smiling slightly as she returned to her lunch.
I then took out my own bento box, and decided to eat it… maybe I should learn how to cook healthier foods? Because if I was going to go to this school? Well, I might as well get some good meals out of it.
"So, what is your quirk?" Saki asked after a few minutes with a curious look on her face, the two of us having finished our respective lunches, "Y-you never got around to telling me"
Oh, right. I hadn’t done that, did I? I kept getting interrupted every time I tried to tell someone…
"Ah, well it's actually pretty interesting. It allows me to gain an aspect of someone's quirk, if I defeat them" I said with a smile, as I discreetly summoned my smallest Stand, [Mainframe].
"Aaw, they're adorable," Saki said, as she leaned in to get a better look at the Stands, which were curiously looking around the bench I was sitting at.
"Yeah. They can go into digital devices and track things for me… I think it'll be pretty useful for my Hero career when I get into UA" I said with a smile, as one of the [Mainframe]'s grabbed my chopstick and raised it upwards like it was some sort of mighty blade, while the other ones clapped in excitement.
"Oh, you're going to UA?" Saki asked, as she idly floated one of her chopsticks to the small Stands, "I've never really been confident enough in my Quirk to even think of applying"
"What do you mean? Your Quirk has amazing potential" I said, as I looked at her strangely, "Think about the possibilities for rescue, or fighting villains by flinging them away"
"…Thank you, but that just wouldn't work," Saki said with a slight blush, "My Quirk doesn't work on living beings. And it can't lift anything too heavy… I wouldn't make for a good Hero anyway"
"Nonsense. Anyone can be a hero, if they put their mind to it… and if those are your only two limitations, what about solely focusing on combat? Or learning how to specifically grab people by their clothes?" I suggested after a moment of thought, "…I believe that you could be an amazing Hero"
Saki's face lit up in a practically fluorescent blush, as her chopsticks started flying upwards… carrying one of the quickly panicking [Mainframe]'s with it.
"Th- thank you, De- I mean Izuku… that means a lot," Saki said, before watching with an amused smile, as the other [Mainframe]'s created a makeshift pole to reach their ascending comrade… only to end up all falling, and making the perfect landing pad for the floating Stand to land on top of.
The two of us then continued chatting for a while longer. But eventually, the bell rang and I had to head off to class… but before I did so, I decided to do just one last thing.
"Hey, real quick," I said, getting Saki's attention as she was packing up her bag, "Do you want to help get me another aspect?"
"Uh, sure? I'll be happy to help," Saki said with a smile, as she looked back at me, "Uh… what do you need me to do?"
"I just want to play a game… maybe a thumb war?" I said with a smile, extending my thumb upwards, "As I said before… to get an aspect of someone's quirk I have to beat them. But I also figured out that it can just be in a game"
"Oh okay," Saki said, as she quickly sat down and extended her thumb out nervously.
The two of us then pressed our fists against each other and engaged in a thumb war.
Quickly, I moved my thumb to the side, dodging Saki's own, before maneuvering it over hers and attempting to pin it down.
But surprisingly enough, she had assistance from my own Stand! Betrayal!
The [Mainframe]'s quickly dogpiled onto my own thumb, causing me to swiftly dismiss them… but this gave Saki the opportunity to strike!
So, when she descended her thumb down toward mine… she gasped in surprise, as I quickly turned the tables and pinned her thumb against our fists.
After all, the [Mainframe]'s betraying me? That was all a clever ruse in order to lull her into a false sense of security.
You’re a genius Izuku… a damn genius!
"Haha, I guess you won… but I've gotta go now," Saki said, before quickly running off to get to her classes.
After finishing the game, I saw a green light appear from behind her, and grinned. After all, I've successfully gained a new Stand, with no real cost.
It manifested after a minute, taking the form of a pinkish knight-like figure with a large blue heart-shaped gemstone in its torso.
Looking at it, I instinctively knew what its ability was… it was capable of essentially puppeteering anything that they touched, with its near-invisible strings.
This allowed it to control any object that its strings got its hands on within its range, though it wasn't able to control living beings.
Now I just had to figure out just what to call this Stand…
Looking at the Stand, I decided to name it… [Master of Puppets] after the famous ancient Metallica song.
Mainly because it honestly really fits well with the ability of the Stand.
With that, I swiftly returned to my classes, and for the most part? I just quietly did my work and ignored everyone else's quiet conversations about me, until it was time to go home.
Sure, people would constantly whisper whenever they thought I wasn’t in earshot… but thankfully, I quickly learned to just drown it all out. What did I care what they thought? They didn't care about me before I got my quirk, so why now?
So, by the time the bell rang signifying the end of school, I helped clean up the classroom and quickly left for home.
I barely even noticed Kacchan waiting by the door to talk to me, and when I did? I just rapidly walked past him, ignoring anything he had to say.
And with that, I just walked back home, ignoring anything that anyone would have to say to me on my way back.

Alright, sorry for the delay. I pinched a nerve in my neck and it’s still healing.
But here we are, finally on the Akun version of Chapter 4. Took us long enough. If you see any mistakes? Just @ me, as I started porting this at 4:00 AM.
Also yes to those who recognize it? The name Saki Yoshida is from Metamorphosis. And no, she won't go through the same plot as the infamous doujin. This is just a name claim.
