The host’s body is filled with tiny nanites. The nanites constantly work to upkeep the host’s peek physical condition and repairing any damaged cells at the cost of energy. The more severe the damage, the more energy required. Any amount of damage can be repaired so long as at least 50% of the host’s brain remains intact and the required energy is supplied.

The host may now emit and detect terahertz radiation to create a local mapping of their surroundings. The host’s eyes can now absorb infrared light, allowing the host to see heat signatures and thermal variations.

The host’s vision will be supplemented with useful and relevant information, such as energy levels, mana levels, and other information the host desires at any given moment. The bars reflect the host’s natural limits and can be exceeded.

The host has a mana battery integrated into their body. This provides a direct source to store and retrieve excess mana. Due to the amount of corrupted shadow mana absorbed, all mana in the battery will be converted into shadow mana. A side effect has also transformed all the host’s magical potential into shadow magic and prevents them from learning any others. The host’s system has also developed a subsystem to develop their shadow powers.
Warning: if the battery suffers significant damage, it will cause a rupture and result in a catastrophically explosive release of mana. The host will likely not survive such an event, at this time.

I’m really pouring everything into speed. Although, there’s a surprising amount of durability required for this kind of speed. I waved my hand, dismissing all the descriptions of my augments and powers.
“That was reckless,” Orange said without changing her glare.
I rolled my shoulders and bounced on my feet, getting a feel for the difference in my movements. “I was just trying to rip the band-aid off. The goal was to not be in pain for as long as possible. I wanted to get it over as quickly as possible.”
Orange’s eyes drilled harder into me. “We understand. However, if we hadn’t staggered the arguments partially as we did, your brain would have been overloaded. It would have caused nearly irreparable damage. You would feel the pain of all the augments being added simultaneously forever. Or at least until you augment your brain to remove the pain receptors.”
Orange stormed up to me. “We can take care of you only so much. If your orders are detrimental to your health, we will disobey. We don’t like it, so don’t put us in that situation again. If we advise against certain courses of action, consider our advice. It’s only for your best interest.”
I slumped my shoulders and hung my head. “Sorry.”
Orange grabbed my shoulders. “That being said, you did better than projected. Well done.”
I froze. “You’re not angry?”
She shook her head. “We do not feel emotion like that. All we intended was to inform and instruct you. Our appearance was simply imitated to convey the severity of the situation. There are risks of overloading yourself.”
She held up four fingers. “In the future, try not to take on more than four augments at a time.”
I swallowed the hard lump in my throat. “Alright. I’ll keep that in mind.”
“As for your curiosity about why defense is required when your speed is as high as it is,” her face returned to its normal emotionless countenance as she continued, “because, for every action, there’s an opposing reaction. Friction through air resistance and impact forces every time you strike are magnified as your speed increases.”
I groaned. “I never made it to physics in high school. Passing basic algebra was hard enough.”
Orange took a step back, and the surrounding area shifted into the fort again. “Physics lessons can wait for a more relaxed time. Training for the upcoming battle will be more relevant.”
I looked around. “What about my body?”
Orange waved a hand. “Don’t worry. Killa is taking care of you. All you need is to rest your mind. Your body has already recovered.”
I sighed. “Alright. So, training again, just like the simulation earlier?”
Orange slowly faded out as skeletons and zombies faded in. “I’ve increased the difficulty by twenty-five percent. Your goal is to survive for ten minutes.”
All the skeletons drew their weapons.
