Chapter Sixteen: Going to Europe

Chapter Sixteen: Going to Europe

World War Three been raging on for eight months now. The Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact crossed the Iron Curtin into Western Europe kickstarting World War Three which happened on January 1st, 1999 at 00:00 hours.

It caught the world by surprise but the North Atlantic Treaty Organization countries has soldiers at the frontlines trying to hold back the wave of the red menace. Most of the U.S Sixth Fleet had either been destroyed or unable to fight.

US and BCLBLFDF Soldiers were sent a month ago to help hold the line with the latter having units encircled behind the Iron Curtin with the Seventh, Eighth, Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, Twelve, Thirteenth, Fourteenth, Fifteenth, Sixteenth, Seventeen, Eighteenth, and Nineteenth Infantry Divisions (260,000 soldiers and 2600 MBT's) giving the Reds a hard time.

Sonata paid attention to the war more than Julia where Sonata doesn't want to have a child or children in a world that's under the leadership of communists and Sonata abhors communists.

Dilmore, Little Bird

Sonata had her eyes glued to the TV watching news reports about the war. Sonata's brother even told her how the war isn't going in either or's favor and became a bloody stalemate with some other parts with either or breaking through.

Sonata's brother told her about it and it isn't pretty. Where both sides did some things but a lot of stray bullets and stray rockets killed civilians. But mostly the BCLBLFDF Air forces been using Laser-guided bombs to destroy bunkers and reinforced buildings.

But their airforces have been using napalm on infantry, 30mm Gatling canons on vehicles, and cluster bombs on infantry and light vehicles. Also, 17000-pound bombs to clear LZ's for helicopters or to clear out a huge group of enemies. Not adding their bombers (C/B-15J Strategic Bomber for Little Bird, B-42 Strategic bomber for Blister Canyon, and B-92 for Lava Falls)

Sonata heard reports of the C-15Js striking the Soviet Union as far as the Western Siberia Plain and close as the Murmansk Oblast.

Sonata didn't want to miss anything about it. But there was a knock on the front door. so she answered it. And it was her brother. He gave her, her orders and she was going to East Germany.

At Air Force Base Constellation.

Sonata border a C-181 plane and on the plane was her brother who was heading back into the heat of the combat. But the plane also had one hundred and twenty airborne rangers, It also had a couple of M1961 MBT (M60 Patton).

It was a very long flight to West Germany.

"Hey Sonata," said Sgt Paul Jackson, "You okay?"

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

Sonata replied, "Yeah I'm fine. Just can't believe another war would've broken out in our lifetimes. But we are the unproven soldiers of our generation. The Lost Generation had World War One, The Greatest Generation had World War Two and the Korean War, the Silent Generation had the Korean War and the Vietnam war, the Baby boomers had the Vietnam war, and Generation X which is us had the Second Korean war and World War Three."

It took almost a whole day to reach Dusk Frontier Combat Base which had been under siege by Soviet and other Warsaw forces for the past eighty-three days. But the base hasn't been overrun yet due to constant napalm and cluster bomb strikes keeping the attackers at bay.

At Dusk Frontier Combat Base

There was no way for the plane to land without enemy artillery blowing up the plane the only way out is for the plane to fly low enough and jump out and tuck and roll.

They did but they had to run to the trenches to avoid the intense artillery and mortar fire that was raining down on the base.

Sonata saw all the barracks destroyed, and a lot of destroyed vehicles such as trucks, cars, jeeps, helicopters, planes, and so on destroyed.

Some places around the combat base either have an IFV or APC either still in working condition or completely destroyed. But outside of the base, she saw a squadron of three LB-25 "Pegasus" multirole jets drop canisters of napalm on approaching enemy attackers.

She also noticed some of their gunships fly or just hovering but firing their three-barreled Gatling cannon or M753 chain gun with 1200 rounds. Or firing their Viper 70mm rockets.

They kept their heads down so shrapnel wouldn't kill them.

If this shelling doesn't end soon this base will cease to exist! Sonata thought, Fuck that was close! We need to find those guns and take'em out of action!

Sonata kept ducking down more as each time more explosions came from landing artillery and mortar shells.

The Little Bird Sixth Infantry was only armed with Garand rifles (M1 Garand but with 16 rounds, not 8), Semiautomat Service Garand (M14 Battle Rifle), Automatic Service Garand (M14E2) for support gunners, X16 (M16A1), Commando (GAU-5A/A), .30 Carbine (M1 Carbine), 7.62mm GPMG (M60 GPMG), .50 HMG, M1949 GMPG (M1919A4), Trench 1937A1 (M1 Thompson), Marine Combat Shotgun (M870 MCS), Police Tactical Shotgun (M1100 shotgun), Steak (M37), & Baker 250 (M500).

The artillery and mortar barrages ended and enemy soldiers headed right at them but there around clock air support and helicopter gunships help repel them temporarily but the heavy amount of gunfire the infantry, and airborne infantry also Sonata and her brother had was immense enough.

The enemy loved to throw their artillery at the Little Birdens but after a while it stopped.

"Hey Paul," said Sonata, "I love Julia. But she makes her favorite food fourteen to seventeen times a month! Yeah, Dirty rice is good food. But after a while it kinda gets repetitive!"

Sgt Paul replied, "Yeah I know. But it's either saying something without being rude or just do nothing or taking over cooking from now on! My wife, she cooks a lot of the same thing as well. But I don't complain,"

"But I don't know how to say it without sounding like I'm disrespectful to her," said Sonata

There was soon the sound of multiple engines where it was a huge wave of Warsaw Pact mechanized infantry with the support of T-54s, T-55s, T-62s, and T-80s.

The Little Birden Soldiers had their portable Anti-Armor launchers hidden and got them such as the Mk216 Shoulder-fired-launched-multi-roled assault weapon, M36 Light Anti-Armor Assault Weapon, and M-17 Viper Anti-tank launcher. Of course there a lot more deadlier and have pinpoint accuracy and can hit a penny from 3500 feet away.

When the tanks got close the Anti-Armor infantry blew them up and Sonata, her brother and the other soldiers not adding support aircraft attacked the infantry. But with them dug in they were hard to hit.

World War One meets the Modern World, Sonata thought, I mean we're entrenched like the soldiers of World War 1 and we're in the modern world.

They held the line and they killed the attackers. But this time they planned a counterattack with reinforcements.

Their reinforcements were from the Fourth Infantry Division. That consisted of 18500 soldiers, 200 Main Battle Tanks, 72 Artillery guns, six hundred trucks, and forty-eight hundred APCs.

Sonata doesn't know how many battles are happening at once or how many soldiers are attacking/defending East Germany. After all, there are

NATO it's 1,350,000 soldiers, and twenty armored divisions

For Little Bird, it's 3,800,000 soldiers and marines, 2,450,000 tanks, 1368 howitzers, and four thousand anti-air guns.

And for Blister Canyon and Lava Falls, it's 2,500,232 infantry, three armored divisions, 40,000 anti-air, and 1400 artillery guns.

A combination of the BCLBLFDF and NATO is a combination of 131 infantry divisions, 42 armored divisions, and 203,000 aircraft both jets and helicopters.

The Warsaw Pact has 228 infantry divisions, 36 armored divisions, and 100,800 aircraft both jets and helicopters.

Stalin already owned half of Europe, Sonata thought, Guess they just got done with waiting of the West well Western Europe to roll over. They thought that the west already belonged to them but just in the hands of unlawful owners.

They went on their way with their counterattack and they were able to destroy the Soviet and Warsaw pact mortars and artillery guns. They also pushed on and crossed the Iron Curtain into Soviet territory.
