It's a nice, cool afternoon, and-
Oh my god, is that a puppy? It's so cute! Well anyways this dog is important.
I am a dog in search of an owner whom I can give my life too. He must be brave, and courageous. The dog thought. Maybe that guy over there? He smells good.
Noah and Jason were walking to the park. It was a Sunday afternoon. Noah was eating a ham and cheese sandwich. It was previously ham, cheese, and bread with eyes.
"Noah, you gotta stop eating from that store. Why would you even want food that screams?" Said Jason. No matter how many times they told him to eat non-screaming food, Noah just didn't listen.
"But it's good for you. Plus, it's the only store we get our food from. Every other place is shady." Noah said.
"That food mart IS the shady store. I don't think I've ever even seen someone working there."
"That's why we get our food from there."
"Do... Do you guys steal the food without paying?"
"You don't?"
"Noah. You know I don't. You know that's not normal."
They sat down on a park bench, waiting for Jayden, Ben, and Liam. Benjamin and Jayden were stuck at school for a mandatory freshman and sophomore assembly about the effects of injecting syrup into your veins. Liam was at drivers Ed.
Noah looked over to see a little orange-ish yellow, and white Shiba Inu walking up to them. He laid down next to Noah.
"Oh! How cute! Look, look Jason! See!" Noah said, tapping rapidly on Jason's shoulder.
"Noah, it's just a dog. Chill." Jason said not really impressed.
Noah bent down and patted the dog on the head. The dog closed his eyes when he did this.
"Here, have the rest of my sandwich!" Noah said, laying the half eaten sandwich in front of the dog.
The dog graciously ate it. He wagged his tail in a cute manner that instantly won Noah's heart over.
"He doesn't seem to have a collar, so I think I might steal him and take him home." Noah said, picking up the dog and pressing his face against it.
“You just steal everything don't you.” Jason said.
The dog was happy to hear that this human was taking him home. Yes you may take me with you. That is your reward for your kindness. The dog thought.
"Are you sure Noah? You know taking care of an animal is a big responsibility, right?"
"It's not my first time having a pet you know. I've owned a goldfish or two in my day. I mean, all the fish died, so, y'know."
"I know what? Are you going to finish that sentence?"
"No."
"Okay, as long as you know what you're doing." Then Jason felt Noah's hand tap on his thigh.
"Do you want to help me take care of him today?" Noah said.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
For some reason Jason got flustered. He tried not to look at Noah's face in order to not get more flustered to the point where he couldn't comprehend a sentence.
"Yeah, sure." Jason said, sort of a small voice.
"Good!" Noah said, grabbing Jason's hand, and dragging him along, while still carrying the dog.
When they got to Noah's house, they walked in and put the dog in the middle of the living room. The dog smelt its surroundings. The dog seemed to like the place and was very comfortable.
"We should give him a name." Noah said. He thought for a moment. What inhumane name could Noah possibly come up with.
"How bout, randy." Oh, that's not bad actually. "Randy, the destroyer."
Oh.
"Ignoring the destroyer part, doesn't it seem weird to give it a human name?" Jason asked.
"Well, it makes him seem more like a friend than just some pet." Noah said, petting randy.
Randy liked that name. Yes, a perfect name master! I am in fact a destroyer.
That's cute and all Noah, but aren't you forgetting something. You know, the whole reason you came to the park? Well, here's a little reminder.
The door suddenly slammed open.
"You assholes! Where the fuck were you?!" Jayden said, bursting in. Benjamin and Liam followed him in.
"Hey Jayden! How was the say no to syrup assembly?"
"It was stupid, thanks for asking! We waited out there in the fucking heat for you guys! Noah you're a stupid mother- oh a dog."
Jayden looked at the randy. Then he sat down on the ground and petted him.
"Dogs are gross. Couldn't you have brought home a cat?" Jayden said. despite calling randy gross he still petted him
"You like cats Jayden? That's really cute." Benjamin said, for some reason he has a serious expression on his face.
"Ben, you're a dork." Jayden groaned, pulling his hood over his head. Benjamin let out a small chuckle.
"Wow, I've never been in your house before. You have a lovely home, Noah." Liam said, smiling at Noah.
"Yep, it's our humble little home." Noah said.
There were footsteps coming from the front door. Noah's dad walked in. He looked like a mess and super gross.
"Why the hell are you home so late." Jayden said.
"Oh, you know. I just had to make a run to the bank." Anthony said. He walked into the living room, then stopped in his tracks. "What is that dog doing here?!"
"I'm adopting him." Noah said.
"Noah, you know that we can't have a dog. I'm allergic, remember."
"Well, I'm keeping him." Noah's voice was monotone. "So die and deal with it”
"Noah." His dad seemed to be in an annoyed mood.
Jayden decided to butt in.
"Well, you were always the reason mom couldn't get a dog. You know how much she wants one too, right?" There was a hint of anger in Jayden's voice.
Anthony closed his eyes. He looked almost guilty, as if he had fresh regret.
"Fine, just keep it away from me until I get some allergy pills." Then he walked up the stairs.
Jason looked at Noah and Jayden. Noah didn't have his usual calming smile on, instead it was replaced with a frown. Jayden seemed sadder than usual.
Luckily Benjamin was there to comfort Jayden. Benjamin gave him a big hug, and probably almost suffocated Jayden, but it seemed to cheer him up. Jason didn't really know how to cheer Noah up. So he grabbed Randy, and pushed his snout gently on Noah's cheek, so it kinda looked like Randy was giving Noah a peck on the cheek.
Noah looked up at Jason. Jason smiled at him, trying to give Noah comfort. Noah smiled back at him, and chuckled. He took Randy from him and put the dog on his lap.
Randy was enjoying himself. Yes, master pet me! You saved me from the man who smells like a woman's perfume. I shall be your faithful companion! Randy had fallen asleep on Noah's lap.
For the rest of the afternoon, the boys talked to each other about whether the dangers of syrup addiction was actually real until they all had to go home. After they left Jayden had gone upstairs, and went to sleep.
Noah was left on the living room couch with Randy. Noah was about to go upstairs too, but Randy started barking. Noah looked at Randy. He had gotten a piece of paper and a pen that was on the coffee table. He put the pen in his mouth, and scribbled something on the paper.
He brought it to Noah. Noah read the piece of paper.
Thank you master
Noah smiled at randy.
"No problem." Noah said as he picked Randy up. "Let's go to bed."
