Chapter 96 - Emily's unusual guest

Chapter 96 - Emily's unusual guest

Hazel's soul would be treated every three to four days by Aile. He no longer needed to call her, she had established her schedule, which was late at night after most of the people were asleep.

Like this, another three years passed.

In these three years, Aile had established a routine. Talking and connecting with people in the early morning, followed by training with Fiona, Diana, Sara. Occasionally Fiona would bring the 3 assistance she got, and they would whisper and talk about stuff after they were done with their cultivation or unique training methods.

Sara would join them too. She had started her cultivation, and she was improving quite well and fast, she had reached close to the second stage.

Sophie, Laila and Leia were mostly spending their time on missions with Emily. Their progress was astounding.

Hazel started to get used to Aile, and he also trusted her a bit more. After the combat training, Aile would eat and get a brief account of anything that happened. Then he would go back into connecting with the energy channels, until late at night. Next, he would either train with his blade or improve his soul power by healing Hazel. His spirit surmounting cultivation also reached the top of the 3rd stage.

Aile had just closed his eyes when he heard a knock on the door.

Knock

Knock

Knock

Aile opened the door and saw Diana, she had an unnatural expression. She said, "Emily and the others have returned. They told me to call you, they also have a guest."

Aile nodded.

He got up and walked with Diana to the hall. Where the supposed guest was at with Emily and the others. As he walked towards the room, the mark on his soul that resembled the barn of multi-coloured yarn pulsated. The two balls of energy that it was nurturing also had a greedy expression tempting Aile to continue on this path.

Aile entered the room and saw everyone was present. Emily looked down as soon as she saw him, and everyone else had a tense look. He then looked at the person that came with them. She was dress in a black-dress wearing a sort of red cape and mask. Her mask only had openings for the eyes. Her eyes were brown with a slight shine to them. She was examining him while he was observing her.

Finally, an eternal voice came from her, "You must be her husband?" Once she finished talking, she looked towards Laila. Who looked very disheartened and apologetics once her eyes connected with Aile's.

Aile came and sat in front of her on the opposite side and nodded.

"Ok, then I will not beat around the bush. I want you to release her of her vow of marriage. Do not worry, I will compensate you?"

Aile asked, "Why do you want that? And what do you want to do with her?" Aile realized that she is not here as a guest. He also noticed some bruises on Emily, it seemed that they were forced to bring her here. If Emily could not defeat her, it was going to be very hard to deal with her. Aile wanted to evaluate her more to see if Hazel would be her match.

"Nothing bad will happen to her, I have taken a liking to Laila. I want her to study under me. This tiny place and all of you are constraints for her. All of this has turned to shackles, it is slowing her progress down. She can only grow when she is free from all her bindings."

"You want her to be free, yet you are forcing her to come with you, that is indeed ironic."

"Do you really think that I would have a problem just taking her with me? I came here so that both sides could end this peacefully."

"From what I have gathered, you will not force her, one the vow that you want me to break is a problem for you. Two, even if you take her, she will not follow you. I know her better than you. If you really think that you could tempt me with something and I will abandon her, then you are wrong. I do not need anything."

Then the atmosphere of the room got a lot tenser.

She finally replied, "You are right, perhaps then I should keep you alive but kill the rest of the people here." She looked at everyone else in the room. "You can decide to give her up and save everyone else or keep her and lose everyone here."

Aile just smiled at her.

"What? Seems you do not care about them equally."

"Haha, I am sure that you will not harm anyone, after all, we are family and friends of Laila. From all the effort you have put into coming here, you do not want to leave empty-handed. Unfortunately, you cannot have what you want."

Then she audibly sighed.

"Ok, I admit that you are not scum and you are a little smart. But let's be honest Laila is blind, and you know she is not proficient in combat because of it. How long do you think she will survive like this? If I take her, I can teach her to become self-reliant, and I can give you an advantage that will make you the strongest person in this kingdom. You will be strong enough to protect the people dear to you, and she will be safe. You can have whatever you want in here, and this will be for the best. If you truly care about her, then you should leave her."

Aile looked at her and chuckled, "I will worry about her safety, so do not bother, and I am sorry I will not be tempted by power. I can become powerful myself."

"Let me tell you something that will change your mind then." She lifted her hand in front of her and opened her fist. Faint traces of energy of different coloured formed in her hand. The multiple-energies coalesced an in a spiral fashion and danced around her hand.

Swish

Two people stood in front of Aile. One was Diana, and the other was Emily. They thought that she was going to attack him. Aile was happy that they valued him but at the same time did not want them to risk their lives for him. Aile gently placed his hands on their shoulder and gestured them to stand back. They nodded reluctantly. Before they moved, the energy that was gathering in her hand suddenly moved, and directedly connected to Aile's forehead.

Tears formed in Diana's eyes, and Emily had an angry expression. They both used their cultivated energy to block the connection or cut it. Aile was standing lifelessly. The lady with the red mask had her hand trembling a little.

Not long after everyone joined Diana and Emily in their futile effort to break the connecting energy.

Aile currently was actually content, the energy that was attached to his forehead was being absorbed by the multi-coloured soul law circle. The two round objects that it was nourishing was glowing as it became brighter, looking like a rainbow orb.

Soon each orb formed 5 protrusions, each a different colour, and the protrusions resembled pointy nail-like structures standing upright.

Then the marbles moved and attached themselves to Aile's eyes and different coloured protrusions extended themselves from Aile's eyes to his, cheeks, neck, chest, shoulder and through his forearm to his fingers.

Currently, Aile's eyes resembled a multi-coloured swirl, and each one of his fingers glowed a different colour. His eyes and his fingers were connected together. He had finally understood the last law that he was gifted. Unlike the previous ones, he did not need to comprehend the laws as once those energy swirls resembling a marble attached to his eyes, he got the comprehension from them.

After a few seconds which seemed longer for Aile, Emily, Diana and the others he came back to it, he saw many-coloured clouds and the line connecting to everyone.

The clouds on top of Emily, and the line connecting to her was getting darker and decaying. He looked at her and noticed that she was utilizing all of her energy for a final attack. It was aimed to kill the lady that wanted to take Laila. He quickly extended his hand and held her shoulder and in angry tone said, "Stop it!" He knew that she would die if she does that. The dark decaying-energy that gathered around her was yet another sign that showed proof of his conjecture.

Emily's rage died down after seeing that Aile was fine, but there was still a look of apology in her eyes, she muttered, "I am glad you are fine." Then she smiled and collapsed.

The black decaying-energy that gathered around her disappeared. The lines and clouds around her restored to how they were before. Aile had learned the final law, which was the law of fates.
