Chapter 53 – Emotional Princess

Chapter 53 – Emotional Princess

The person blocking the path had not expected this from two young kids, he was not on guard, allowing Aile to succeed.

"ahhhhhhhhh,"

Not bothering what happened to him, they ran towards the direction of the exit; between the bushes, trees and shrubs. They did not notice if there were spider webs, birds or any other thing beneath their feet. They just ran.

After a few tens of metres, Aile began to gain back his reasoning and he started to monitor around him. He sighed as he had two bad news. In front of them was a group of people that was here to steal the Ruin book and they would be able to notice their movement in this path.

Behind him, he noticed that the person that he just tried to blind has been chasing after them.

He sighed.

He was annoyed that he has to carry the princess with him, as she did not let go of his hand. Without her, he could have easily escaped. Secondly, he was annoyed at the person who blocked their way a few seconds ago. This is because he stupidly kept a grudge against two children and was chasing them with full effort. He cursed him for being an asshole. He could not reveal his cultivation in front of the princess to fight back.

Therefore, he was thinking of how to deal with him without using his cultivation. The person behind him was gaining on them, and he would catch up to them in one minute.

Aile smirked he came up with another plan, he nudged the princess and said in a domineering tone, "In a few minutes, just agree with what I say and do not speak more."

He then changed their direction a bit and headed towards a direction of the three people that came to the garden to seal the Ruin book.

Soon in front of them arrived a group of three people, Aile put up a pitiful expression and said, "Mister, Save us! A bad person is trying to kill us because we saw him take a shiny book."

Hearing this, the three had an excited expression on their face, "Oh really... Do not worry, we will protect you. Which direction is the bad person at?" Greed could be seen in their eyes as they said this. It was clear that they were not righteous people. They were planning to take the book by any means to make money, this was an action fueled by greed.

Their greed also allowed them to be used by Aile.

Aile quickly pointed behind him and said, "In that direction."

The three people grinned at each other, and soon everyone heard the sounds of footsteps behind them.

The man came, and Aile immediately shouted while pointing at the man, "That is him!"

Of the three men, the one in the middle said to Aile, "You two wait here we will deal with him!"

The group of three went around and circled the person that was chasing Aile and the princess. He was confused and did not know what was happening. Suddenly he was surrounded by three people after two kids tried to blind him.

Aile did not stick around to see and listen to the three greedy idiots fight. He ran towards the exit of the forest with the princess. This was just a delay strategy hoping to lose their pursuer.

They ran for another 10 minutes when Aile noticed that he was being followed again and by the same person. He cursed in his mind, "Damn it, this cockroach will not let me go."

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

He was also surprised at how quickly his pursuer managed to deal with the group of three people, and he still managed to follow their tracks and catch up this quickly.

He knew that he could no longer let him catch up again. If he did, he would end up fighting and reveal his cultivation in front of the princess. So he had 10 minutes to come up with a strategy. Eventually, he came up with one. He said to the princess, "That person is still following us! But he is injured, I will fight him! You should go straight this way and leave the garden. I will stay here to face him." He said while pointing towards the direction of the northern garden's exit that they had been running. He hoped that she would leave so that he could become shadow. As the longer, he remained as Aile the more people could see him and get the impression that there is more to him. His low key behavior would be rendered useless.

She shook her head and said, "No! I will stay too." It seemed that she had become dependent on him. After all, she had just faced a life-threatening situation, and Aile had saved her. To her Aile was the only one that could be trusted in the northern garden.

Aile did not have enough time to convince her, so he said, "Ok, fine, In that case, you go and hide behind that tree, I think he is injured. I will try to knock him out!"

She was reluctant but seeing Aile's serious expression she agreed.

Aile then picked up a sharp stone and hid behind some tall shrubbery. Soon a dishevelled man arrived.

Aile shouted, "Hey!"

The man stopped and tried to find him and looked toward the direction he believed the sound came from.

Swish

Only to see a fast object that was approaching his face swiftly.

Splat

The stone entered his head, and the man dropped down.

Aile then picked a few more rocks and threw it at his head, making sure he would not get up for a last strike.

This was an extra precaution, he started to take after the last incident where Jack's guard injured him after he had struck him outside of Port Kiar near the bandits.

He then amplified his hearing and made sure no one was around and looted the man.

He found 2 gold coins on him and a small dagger that had recently been used. There was the smell of death coming from it.

The dagger was quite unique as it had a holder attached to his hand, making it very discrete. He quickly took it off from him and wore it.

Then he went to where the princess was hiding and said, "Let's go he will not chase us anymore!"

The princess no longer sounded anxious and said in her melodious voice, "That is good, did you knock him out!"

Aile looked at her and then nodded, "Yeah, something like that."

The princess then came and held his hand, Aile sighed seeing this. He said to himself, "If I wanted to leave you, do you really think this would stop me."

Then, they quickly made their way towards the exit, and once they were close enough to it, Aile stopped and looked at the princess and said in a grave tone. "Do not tell anyone that you came here or anything about me!"

Aile did not want to be noticed by too many people. He did not want to be linked to this disaster that was continuing in the northern garden.

She shook her head and said, "No! I want these people to be punished. I could have died."

Aile was not fond of people who used other's influence to deal with their problems. He also found people who did not reciprocate help very self-centred.

Aile was annoyed, He thought, "where was this bravery a few minutes ago."

Aile then tried to appeal to her better side and remind her that she too sneaked in here and might get into trouble, "Well, you see I sneaked out and came here. If people find out that I was here and only with one guard, I will be in trouble. Just do not tell anyone." Aile was hoping that she could draw a parallel from his situation and realized that her action of coming here without a guard could become an issue to her too. He hoped to convince her that his suggestion was for the best.

Aile wanted to stop her from speaking about this whole incident altogether. This is because, from the way she acts, she would not be able to keep a secret, and she would involve him. She seemed to be too emotional at the moment and he was hoping to bring her back to a calmer state.

Aile knew that it was reasonable for her to act emotional after everything that happened in here, but he did not have time to patiently calm her down. He just wanted her to realize what she was doing. From the way she had behaved before, she seemed logical, as she hid her identity.

He expected her to realize that it would be best for both of them if this incident did not come to light.

She replied in a haughty tone, "Do not worry, I am very influential and you saved me so no one will be mad at you!"

Aile sighed that she was not budging.
