Chapter 5 — Bad Manners

Chapter 5 — Bad Manners

“Looks like you survived, may God bless you little fellow.”

Alexis whose body was wrapped up in clean cloth from head to toe immediately glanced towards the voice came from, only to see the silhouette of the man that is sitting in the corner.

Alexis slowly opened his blackened mouth as throaty sound escaped from there, “Wrro—arrgh!!”

But before he could even complete a word he was assaulted with pain that felt like being bitten down by countless ants all over his body, as he was unable to move his arms to scratch he could only lay his back once again to the hastily put grass mattress.

“Little fellow take it easy the burns in your body had yet to heal.” A warm and soft voice came out from the silhouette.

It was followed by a warm light that suddenly surged out the palm of the man heading towards Alexis and when this light touched his body it relieved the pain greatly until only a little bit of itchiness remained which disappear shortly after, finally Alexis relaxed his body.

“Wra-waatrer.”

“Water? Little fellow wait for a while.” The priestly man said before heading out of the camp.

The newly risen sun shines upon the man as he walked towards the middle of their camp where the rest of the group were, they were eating there breakfast on a long table.

“Little Lance that fellow finally woke up.”

Damian couldn't help but choked on the water he is drinking after hearing the priest words.

“Cough, cough, little lance…hehe.”

When Lance glanced at him Damian shut his mouth but his lips couldn't stop curving into a smile.

“Don't call me that, Heretic. How is he? Is he able to talk?”

Heretic sat in the seat next to a muscular bald man—Tron, he smiled at Lance and said, “His body been burnt close to being cooked its already a miracle he survived, for now he still feels pain and can barely talk—right water, he said he wants water.”

Lance nodded before scooping a bowl of soup and gave it to the young miss sitting next to him and the witch.

“Thank you but I already had enough.”

She refused him shyly but he shoved it again in front her making her hold it in her hands in puzzlement, then before she could ask anything Lance pointed at one of the cup on the table.

“Bring him that and the soup.”

“Pfft~”

Damian whose holding his laughter from before couldn’t finally take it anymore as he laughed boorishly, he was then followed by the man with an angel-like smile—Ezekiel who freely laughed meanwhile the rest just chuckled or smiled.

“...Fine!”

She cannot take more shame and embarrassment as she hurriedly walked towards the tent the Heretic just went out to.

After a while the tent's curtain flapped open and Kyrille with her platinum silver hair and pair of pink eyes entered bringing with her a bowl of steaming hot soup and a fresh cup of water.

When she saw Alexis bundled up she couldn't help but took a step back and complained, “Why do I have to be the one? Shouldn't it be the servant's du..ty...?”

Kyrille's voice lowered until she stopped with a sullen face, she then put down the bowl and the cup next to him.

“Your water!”

She was just about to walk away when she saw him weakly reached out for the cup but he couldn't lift even a finger due to the after-effect of the spell used by Heretic.

Her beautifully arched brows slowly creased. “Tsk, you really are weak one, you cannot even move your fingers.”

Kyrille sat sideways next to him and hold the cup but she realized that it would be hard for him to let him drink when he is laying down.

Her frown then deepen and her eyes spoke their unconcealed disgust.

“Why do I have to....Sigh! I'll remember this and after you got healed be surely pay for this.”

She moved a little closer to the side of his head and then her hands lifted Alexis cloth-covered head up before laying it down on her lap.

“Not even the prince was able to experience this treatment…what a humiliation!”

Her gentle action betrayed what she just said, if not for her face full of disgust and a cloth-covered human coal it would picturesque scene or maybe it is already one.

After letting him drink the half the water in the cup, Kyrille took the bowl filled with hot soup, she lifted the spoon and blew it until it was cool enough before lowering it towards his mouth.

“Say 'aah'.”

As time passed her face slowly turned back to being one of expressionless but hidden in her soft-colored eyes was a blooming gentleness.

In Alexis blurry vision he could see the silhouette of a woman gently feeding her, the softness her thighs and her lullaby like voice slowly made him fell asleep.

He was dreaming about the past when he was sick and had his mother care for him the whole time, that time her gentle actions was one of the reason for alleviating the pain, it was a beautiful dream.

“Ara? You fell asleep while eating? That is a bad manners you know?”

Kyrille put down the bowl and shortly after she slowly lifted his head before placing it back on the pillow made of leaves.

“Hmph! Being able to fall sleep in the legs of the most—”, she paused in the middle of her words when she remembered some nasty things before she continued, “—a beautiful girl like me you should be honored.” she haughtily look down on him before heading back continue

“Say 'aah’.”

“Aaauhm.”

A recreation of what happened inside the tent were being acted out by Damian and the Ezekiel.

When she saw what the two of them doing she couldn't help but broke her expressionless face and flared up.

“You! Did you see it!?”

Damian did not answered her instead he looked down at Ezekiel and said in a forced female voice.

“Ara? Did you fell asleep while eating? That's a bad manner you know?”

When she heard that her face became red from both anger and embarrassment, then her fair right hand started to darken.

“I'll kill you!”

Kyrille chased Damian for a while before Lance called them over.

“Enough of that and prepare to set off.”

The grey haired and bearded man that Lance calls Old Man asked, “What about the kid?”

“Get him in the wagon we still need information about what happened, if nothing changes then we'll drop him on the Norcois City.”

“Understood.”

The group gathered their tent, fed their horses and hit the road before the sun placed itself in the middle of the sky
