Chapter 30 — Blissful Moment

Chapter 30 — Blissful Moment

Their wagons drove through the main street heading straight where the inn they stayed before as they kept most of their luggage that are unnecessary for the expedition there, of course they paid them.

However before their transport arrive at its destination both Damian and Ezekiel hopped out of them heading out on separate directions.

When the horses was pulled to stop next to the inn the acting coachmen of the two wagons called for their arrival. Everyone inside then got out with the ladies just carrying their own luggage first to head inside the building while the men transfered all the things the second wagon carries towards the first as it was something Lance rented.

Alexis helped them carrying boxes of furs that they bought cheaply back in the campgrounds just before they departed.

Leaving the rented wagon to Lance and Tron the other one cluttered towards the stales at the back and after placing all the boxes in the inn's storage room everyone left to their new rooms.

Alexis just put his bag inside the cabinet when a knocking sounds came from his door, when he curiously opened it and looked outside he saw Kyrille waiting there, before he could even ask her motives his arm got fished out of the room.

As every one of the members of the band did their own things the young man found himself being dragged somewhere by the young miss, again.

“Where are we going?” he asked just in case something like being lost happened again.

“Shopping district.”

“Do you remember where?”

“Are you doubting my intellect?” Kyrille turned her head back at him and shot him a glare.

Alexis hurriedly shook his head but still he courageously asked her, “No. B-But aren't we going the wrong way?”

“I know.”

“Then—”

Before he could even start his sentence he was forcefully pulled towards a two-wheeled carriage the one without a roof that's waiting at the end of the street, things happened quickly that before he noticed it they already took their seat on the soft couch.

“Where's your destination young master and miss?” The coachman courteously asked.

And like it was natural Kyrille crossed her legs before giving their intended location.

When the horse started running the streets Alexis tugged the hems of her clothes as he whispered a question, “Why are we riding something like this?”

Kyrille quickly pushed his face far away from her ear and said, “To avoid wasting time.”

“But—”

“If its about the money then what Sir Lance gave before we departed was more than enough.”

Alexis was loss for words and just accepted it, he let his back be envelop by the softness of the couch while his eyes enjoyed the sights of the city with her.

Before long their carriage arrived at the Shopping District and let the two of them get down in front of the store called Miney's Clothes, it was the clothing shop that they found the last time and bought their clothes.

Kyrille paid for the ride before Alexis could even asked about it, he was then dragged toward the store.

“Aren't we supposed to split the payment?" he asked.

“You can think of it as a my gratitude.” Kyrille said before she opened the door.

“Gratitude? For what?”

His question was answered by a cheerful greeting exactly when the light outside entered the dim store.

“Welcome!”

'A woman's voice!'

Alerted like cautious crickets they snapped both their necks towards where the counter is, different from before it was not the quiet man standing there instead is the auntie who once forced both of them—Kyrille to try different dress for a long time.

“Oh? Looks like you kept your promise!” she said in surprise while her feet left the counter as she eagerly walked closer towards them but stopped when she noticed Kyrille's hand holding onto Alexis'.

“Ara, who's this cute boy here? Is he your brother or lo—”

“Brother, He is my little brother.” she interrupted her words making the owner opened her smiling eyes a little before immediately turning into cunning eyes.

“So brother right~?”

Alexis nodded uncomfortably when she started inspecting him up and down, he did not know why she lied but no matter what he just needed to pretend. Well from his height that yet to hit the spurt and the almost two years age gap between them one could possibly saw them as siblings.

“Well let's not just stand there, come here I'll let you guys see my new works! I am sure those would suit you two especially the sister one.”

Her words made Kyrille's body shook and his face contort for a moment before she elegantly smile and followed her also she finally let Alexis hands go, his wrist was already sore and red due to her strength.

As he massages his wrist they arrived at a corner where dresses like the previous one they bought are displayed, they still had a lot of frills and colors that made it look gloomy but this time there are added colors that had darker shades which greatly mixed with black and added flower designs that made the somberness lessen.

“You can try any of them—no you try all of them!” she shoved one of the dress that she got from who-knows-where to Kyrille.

“Oh right! Before that I should introduce myself first, I completely forgot to tell you the last time I am Miney, the owner of this clothing shop.” She—Miney introduced herself before pushing another dress towards her. “Now hurry up and try this!”

Kyrille made a pitiful look towards Alexis but he has no power against the owner and he kind of also want to see her try the newly made dress so he pretend to not see it and continues picking his clothes but before he could choose one he was also dragged by Miney and was forced to try couple of clothes too.

From gorgeous and beautiful shirts and dress to the just plain weird and bizarre apparels they were dolled up until the exhaustion hit them, in the end they took a long time there and was only able to escaped when they almost finish changing into all of Miney's collection.

They picked their favorite clothes and paid them in a discounted price, during the process she was bugging the two of them but when they said that they still have somewhere to go she gave up and wish them well.

Now dressed in their new clothes the two could finally bathe in sunlight that seemed so bright after they exited the shop.

“Come again!” The store owner shouted from the entrance bidding them a good bye, both of them waved back without saying anything except smiling unnaturally.

When they turned their back from the store walking on the side of the street, Alexis shifted his head at the side and asked, “Will you come here again?”

“No.” Kyrille wearily answered.

He said nothing in reply as he's also in the same thought, he was just a bit sad not being able to see her in gorgeous dress again.

“So where are we going next sister?” He asked while adjusting the buttons and the collar of his new shirt until he feel comfortable in it.

“We are out the shop so stop calling me that!” she glared and coldly reprimanded him.

“S-Sorry...so where are we going next?”

“How do I look?” Instead of answering his question she asked while her pupils shifted away from him.

Alexis did not know what she's up to and just honestly said what's on his mind, “Black truly suits you.”

Maybe she liked the compliment as he saw her lips curve into a small smile, but while he's enchanted by it she grabbed his hand before strongly pulled it together with her as she started moving faster.

“Let's go!”

Due to her suddenly dragging him the bags filled with their newly bought clothes that he are holding almost fell, he didn't complained and just followed her while only having one thought in his mind:

'I really don't understand her.'

The two once again took a carriage letting it travel on a different route towards the central plaza, Alexis was clutching his pouch the whole ride and exactly when it stopped the coachman was surprised by the fast payment of the young man.

He made a proud smile while she just chuckled. They toured around the plaza eating from food stalls to another, played with pigeons that loiters near the fountain, and relax on the bench as they watch the sun set on the west.

When the night came and the stars wake they ended their date and walked back towards their place.
