Far away from the city, a meeting was transpiring between two beings. One of them, a short, girthier fellow who happened to be fully furred. He was wearing hide pants and was bare-chested, a large axe resting on his back.
The man opposite of him was tall, easily three times the height of the furred being, with thin limbs that seemed like they were fit for a squid. The being was fully bald, no hair appearing on any pore of its body. It had two large round eyes, and 5 holes on its face. One mouth, two ears, and two nostrils.
The bald beings spoke up first, "Sir, the preparations are almost complete. We've trained 5 more 4th Realmers and one has almost broken into the 5th Realm."
The furry being took a second to think before speaking. "That's good. It will help get rid of the small fry and clear out the area. But we will be needing more Realm 5 and above people. He, will be a very hard target. I doubt even the people he rules the city with know his true strength. This is like a game to him, but we must show him that we are not to be underestimated, even if he is well into the Teen Realms."
"I will advise the Trainer then. How many more soldiers would you like to have prepared?"
"Make 3 more 4th Realmers. Get one to the 5th Realm. Choose one of our trusty workers and get them to the Sixth Realm. Once that is all done, get a squad of 20 people to go out looking for new arrivals. We are sure to fins some interesting abilities throughout the masses, even if all of them are weaklings."
The bald being bowed before vanishing from sight. The other being sat down, sighing as his bottom hit the floor.
"I have to make it to the Tenth Realm before we attack. Otherwise I won't even last a minute against him."

When Sear awoke, he felt different. Light, like gravity didn't have an effect on him anymore. He tensed his body, feeling all of his muscles respond with a never-before seen speed. He felt the raw power emanating through his body. It was invigorating. He wanted more of it.
*I've been boosted to the Second-Stage of the Second Realm(2-2) because of that orb. I have to gain those peoples trust if I want to gain strength faster. I won't allow myself to be stuck in this world for the next millenium. But before that, I should go purify. It seems like the monthly time is here, and I want to make as much use of it as possible.*
Sear left the room, his body seemingly cutting through the air instead of pushing against it like before. His control was miles higher, and as he ran through the city he would quickly change directions without acidentally creating a crater.
His movements were smoother, his body was getting used to his new power. He was still going slow, not wanting to go full speed and slam into the barriers on the outskirts of the city. He made it to the door in record time, before quickly leaving the barrier and running through the forest.
He began picking up speed quickly, his body quickly passing his old max speed and then doubling, tripling, quintupling it in a heartbeat. He was out of the forest before he could even blink, the terrain passing below him, only allowing a red blur to be seen. He continued on this way for an hour before stopping.

Extending his mana sense out to it's furthest, which he didn't even know the size of anymore, and seeing that there was nobody nearby, he began to purify. The mana in the air around him began to swirl, a light blue hue surrounding his body as the air began to pulse.
With each pulse, more and more mana began to move. One kilometer, ten kilometers, fifty kilometers, 100 kilometers. Soon, all the mana within half an hour's run from where he was started moving towards the sky above him. The blue hue surrounding his body turned into a mist as it slowly began to spiral upwards towards the sky.
As the mana arrived at the center above his body, it began transferring downwards in a density so high you could see a small blue stream flowing into him. Stretching out from the top of stream was a spider-web of highways were mana had come together to slowly move towards the center.
The ground beneath Sear quaked just a bit, the pressure in the air around him increasing tenfold. He continued to sit there, absorbing mana. Within his inner world, he was slowly purifying more and more parts of his mana sea, which had swelled to an unimaginable point. Most of the mana he absorbed from the orb was unpurified, so he was basically back at the start of the Second Stage of Mana Purification.
He didn't mind this though, as it would not take long before he would be able to purify all of it. Like this, time passed, the spider-web of highways slowing becoming shorter and shorter, all being infused into the center before being sent down into his body. The stream, now a few centimeters thick, pulsed every few seconds, more and more mana being sent down into Sear.
Soon, the stream dried up, leaving Sear sitting at the center of a small crater, caused by the high levels of mana being absorbed in the area.
Opening his eyes, Sear exhaled, his diaphragm fully extending. He stayed there, simply looking around, before getting up and stretching. He still wasn't used to his new strength, and he had to make sure his body didn't suffer due to that.
*I managed to get 5% of the way through. Slower than I'd like, but it's some progress. Another one of those and I should be on the border of getting to (2-3). The orb got me pretty far through the second stage already. I wonder how long it would take normal people to get to this level of power. If they could only do this once a month, then it would easily take a couple years to get to this level, while I got it in less than a month, even if by unconventional standards.*
*Either way, I have to get stronger. The highest Realm people on this world are in the 30's, while outside there are monsters so far above that that they could probably kill everything on this planet within the day. For now, I'll see how everything goes with L.L. If I can get him to trust me more and give me more orbs, I should be able to quickly power-level to a realm even higher than his.*
*Now then, I should be going back.*
As Sear prepared to take off, he felt someone appear behind him. Turning around, he saw L.L.'s familiar face.
The two stood still, looking at each other silently before Sear spoke up. "What do you need?"
"I see that your process went well. You're ability truly works wonders. Before we go back to the city though, I want to see you fighting. There's a (2-1) nearby that you could fight. I'll let you absorb it, as I doubt that it would do much for you at this point."
"What type of beast is it?"
"You'll see that when we get there. You can go on ahead, I'll stay at your speed."
After being told what direction it was in, Sear prepared to fly. Beforehand though, he created a series of glyphs that would increase his speed and cut down on wind resistance . Stepping through them, he launched into the air. The area he took off from earlier now had a large crack running through it, the ground not able to absorb the force from his takeoff.
Smiling, L.L. following behind, without causing a massive crack to appear. Sear slowly went higher and higher, feeling the air resistance cut down even more, his speed continuing to rise and he began to pour more and more mana into flying. He was already going more than twenty times his previous fastest speed, and kept increasing.
It was exhilarating for him. Never would he have thought, as a small farm boy, that he would get this strong. It made him chuckle, his thinking about how he used to wish he was a god so that he could punish those that hurt him. Now, he could probably destroy the entire planet, he was even more powerful than those gods he dreamt of.
he was probably even more powerful than the 'god' that the people of the planet believed in. He was probably just another overseer of the planet who wanted to be a little too intertwined into his planet's life.
