Chapter 16-The Raid Pt. 1
As the group came closer and closer to the town, Sear began to move his creations into position. All around the village sentries were posted along the walls. He also managed to quickly create tunnels underground for his troops to move through thanks to his earth magic.
He smiled thinking about what was about to happen. It would be his first true test of skill, and he would have to use all of his trump cards to win.
“My lord, what should Heer and I do?” He looked over to see his commander kneeling before him.
“Take 50 Guardians and 20 Flashings with you both and stand near the west gate of the town. Once they get close attack and kill all.” They moved away leaving Sear to think alone.
According to the soldiers he tortured, they would quadruple his forces and still have many left over. While they weren’t the strongest of foes, a group of that size could inflict quite a lot of damage. It seems that he would need to personally get involved after all.
With the last few seconds he had, he continued to expand the size of his orbs. His dark magic orb was now 5 centimeters in diameter while the other orbs were all 5 millimeters, with Air Magic being 7. He pocketed them all and stood up to go see if anything had happened yet. At that moment he heard shouts from the edge of the village.
When he looked over, he was surprised to see a meteor flying towards the town. It wasn’t very large, but it would easily panic the entire town if it managed to land.
Clutching his Air orb, Sear focused on the air around the orb and slowly began to make the air denser and denser to the point that it was visible at this point.
While it didn’t stop it, it gave him a few seconds to think about what to do.
Use Earth Magic to break it? Would only make smaller meteors. Punch it? Would hurt and same thing would happen. Use tree roots to create a shield to block it? Not strong enough yet to block that. Water magic would only flood the town and fire magic would do nothing to stone.
The only thing he had left that he could do was utterly obliterate it with Dark Magic. And by that, he meant create a wall of dense magic that would absorb the rock. He would basically create a flat black hole. He would need to try making one in the future.
Seeing as the meteor was beginning to close in, he jumped towards the meteor. Soon, he got close enough to it that he could touch it. Stretching his hands out. He sent magic flying out of him. He created a wall big enough to fully block it and got away.
But then something he didn’t expect happened. Around the meteor he could see a faint white glow. The meteor passed straight through the magic wall without even being slowed down.
He could do nothing but watch it crash into one of the larger houses in the town.
On the moment of impact, the meteor exploded sending magic of all types flying through the city. Screams could be heard coming from all directions as a large plume of smoke rose up into the air.
Soon most of the city was covered in smoke, and Sear had to use his magic to keep himself from suffocating.
He heard a clashing of weapons coming from his left so he ran as fast as he could to the main battle.

As soon as Sear reached the outer walls of the city, he finally saw the battle. All of his Guardians were fighting head on with the soldiers, each one fighting 4 or 5. Many were actually able to kill their opponents and help out other guardians.
They were also quite good at using their earth magic to trip the knights and make them attack their own. When he looked over to his commander, all that he saw was a line of death.
All around him men perished to either his sword or the spikes that came out of the ground all around him. This continued for a few minutes until a white light began to slowly shine throughout most of the men.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
They now suddenly moved faster, and actually managed to create cracks in the guardians. Realizing that they were using holy magic, he decided that it was time to get involved. Taking control of the air on the battlefield, he slowly began to push it all away.
He could now see many of the knights visibly pale as they began to suffocate. It started slow at first, but by the time Sear’s Air mana had run out he had killed a good 50 of the men, and the rest would be weakened for a few more seconds. Once again his guardians began to slaughter anything around them.
BOOM!!! Sear was sent flying away from an explosion that occurred right in front of him. He was sent flying into a house which collapsed once he crashed into it. Pushing the rubble off of him, he saw over 100 mages begin to move into the battle.
He smiled, and charged in.
In a matter of seconds, he had closed in on the mages. He jumped, and while pirouetting he summoned large spikes of ice all around him and launched them away from his body. The mages had now become frozen kababs.
Kneeling under a sword, Sear used his earth magic to create pillars of rock coming out of the ground. While the pillars didn’t exactly kill men, it launched them a fair distance into the air before the landed on the ground and died because of that.
Once he saw his Flashings begin to move in, Sear backed off to regain his mana. He was still quite novice with those magics so he had very little mana for them.
He continued to take in the battlefield as a thought occurred to him. There were hundreds of dead bodies around, and most of them had bones.
He sat down before covering himself with a layer of rock and then roots to blend into the surrounding landscape.
Concentrating on the bones around him, he slowly pushed them all out of the bodies. He could hear screams from the surprised soldiers. Continuing, he began to make something larger than he had ever made before. The bones began to combine to make meter long claws that connected to large legs.
The creature now split into two parts. One of the part began to thin slightly before ending off with a large hook at the end once it reached a length of 10 meters. It then continued to grow in the other direction. Two large arms grew and accommodated a pair of human like hands.
Its neck elongated upwards until it came to an end. A large snout formed and several gigantic teeth began to fill in its jaw. Out of the side of its head, 2 large curved horns grew out.
Just as people thought it would finish it continued. Along its back 2 protrusions began to grow and expand very rapidly. Soon, it was made in all its glory and everyone got a glimpse of what it truly was.
Roaring with vigor, the creature landed on the ground, and with a swipe of its tail killed tens of men. People could do nothing but watch it, stunned in place.
They were seeing a skeleton dragon in all its glory. A hoarse laugh could be heard coming out of the dragon’s mouth before it began to form two black orbs on the edge of its horns. Once large enough, the dragon leaned forward, and the orbs launched off and collided into packs of men, sending limbs and blood flying through the air.
As it continued to kill, its bones began to turn red. Slowly a layer of muscle could be viable on the dragon. It looked like something that would have been skinned alive, except that nothing skinned alive could look that excited. Launching itself up into the air, the dragon once again summoned two large black orbs, only this time they were about 10 times bigger.
Seeing this, men began to flee as mages began to erect a barrier in order to stop it. Sadly, it could do nothing as the orbs flew harmlessly past it. They exploded, and this time it looked as if someone had dropped bombs along the entire battlefield.
Friends and foes alike were killed by the large explosions. At this point, the dragon had finished growing. Its muscled bulged as hard red scales grew onto it. Suddenly it spoke.
“Hahaha. Puny humans. See what happens when one of your kind attempts to recreate and control me! I am Zedrin, the Dragon King!” Zedrin roared, sending shockwaves of air through the area.
He turned and began to fly off into the area, leaving a stunned Sear and less than 100 men on each side standing. Seeing as the bane of their existence had ran off, the mages and knights began to once attack, getting Sear out of his trance.
