No Mountain High Enough

No Mountain High Enough

Steven woke up in his bed, and checked the morning announcement. Instead of Clara being tired, she was instead sick looking. She had her hand on her stomach. “Students…of…” She ran off-screen, and vomited. A message on screen played, that said “SCHOOL TODAY HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO THE HIGH AMOUNT OF STUDENTS THAT GOT SICK FROM CARELESSLY EATING random shit YESTERDAY” “Who’s shocked,” Steven said, as he turned off the TV. He went out of his dorm room to meet with Iris. Iris told him, “Seven is sick, and Marty is glued to his toilet seat.” Steven was shocked, “Damn, that bad? Well, to be honest what did he expect after drinking so much vegetable oil?” Noronake walked up to the two, “Well, since there’s no school, you guys wanna go to the mountains. Steven, I know you said you can’t come, so I guess it’ll just be me and Iris.” Steven said, “You guys have fun.” Noronake said, “Mhm. Iris, get your stuff ready. Meet me in the parking lot, I have the brown Porsche.” Iris was shocked, “You have a Porsche?” Noronake said, “Yes indeed, I said I was an actor before working here, didn’t I? And I did mention my wife is a whole supermodel, right? Anyway, I’m gonna get some of my stuff ready, I’m probably not gonna climb the mountain. You hearing those rumors about the Mountain Killer? Someone is throwing people off the mountain.” Iris nodded, “That is exactly why I’m going. I’m gonna get that killer.” Steven checked his phone, and left, “Alright guys, I gotta go. See you two later. Noronake said, “Welp, best of luck. Ohhhhh that’s Seven isn’t it. Hehe, see what I did there.” He left to get ready, and so did Iris.

Perspective Shift: Iris

Iris walked around the parking lot, with her cue stick in her hand and a few cue balls in her pocket. She found Noronake in his brown porsche. She walked up to the car, and got in. As he started backing up the car to leave the parking lot, he asked her, “So, what kind of music do you like?” She answered, “Probably older music. Like from the 1970s.” Noronake poked at the dashboard a bit, before putting on a Japanese album. “This is Taeko Ohnuki, I think you’ll like her songs.” He started driving towards the mountain, hitting a bunch of dead ends and turning the wrong way frequently. “You know,” Iris told him, “I could always Slide Zone to find the best route…” Noronake laughed, “I know where to go, I swear. I just have to get a feel for this area, you know?” Iris sarcastically said, “Sure you do…” After driving even more, and getting even more lost, Noronake stopped in the middle of an empty neighbourhood. “Iris, I’m lost.” He admitted. “Please use Slide Zone.” Iris smirked, and said “Alright. Go forward and take a left.” Noronake waited, and looked around. “Hold on, before you say any more, can you use Slide Zone to check if there are any cops around?” Iris looked around, and said, “No.” Noronake said, “Good. This album is about to end and I don’t wanna have to find another one. I gotta get there before this ends.” He turned on the music to it’s highest volume, and started speeding to the mountain. They ended up making it to the mountain in about less than a minute. An officer came up to the car. “Excuse me sir, were you the one going at 110 mph?” Noronake looked at the other cars around the mountain. “No, officer, I believe it must’ve been that one right there.” He touched his car with the base of his hand, without being noticed by the officer, and used Running In The 90s. “Besides, if it was me, these tires would be super worn down,” The officer turned back around, and said, “But your tires are-” He noticed the car seemed as good as new. “My mistake. You and your daughter have fun now.” He walked away, and Noronake started snickering, “Daughter hehe…” Noronake walked out of the car, and opened his trunk. He took out a camera. He started taking a few pictures around the mountains, and Iris began going up a path in the middle mountain. “Have fun,” Noronake told her, as she left. As Iris was going up the mountain, she saw someone fall from the top. She was sickened by the sight. After around 10 minutes, she made it to the top. It was mostly flat, with a few bumps, and was a huge area. About the same area size as the school. There weren’t any people there. However, there was a girl with a golf club, and a person standing in front of her. The girl was wearing a standard red golfing uniform, and had a gray afro. She held up the golf club, and hit the person in front of her. The person was then launched off of the mountain, with superhuman force. Iris took her cue stick, and threw up a cue ball. She then hit a cue ball towards the girl, and it hit her in the face. “OW! What was THAT for,” The girl asked. Iris pointed her cue stick at her, “Why did you hit that person off the mountain?” The girl ignored Iris’ question, “I am THE Jewel Par, and you have no right to be hitting me like that.” The girl then walked up to Iris, swinging her club around in a playful manner, “You’ll pay for that.” The girl then picked up a rock, and began eating it. Iris was confused. The girl then picked up another rock, but instead of eating it, she hit it with her golf club. The club began pulsating, and the rock shattered into a bunch of pieces. Iris tried dodging the rock pieces, but a great number of them hit her, and she was injured. “My beautiful face…you’ve ruined it. I’ve got a golfing tournament next week and now I can’t go because you’ve hit my face. I suppose it’s only fair if I hit yours as well.” She ran up to Iris and jumped at her. She was about to swing her club at Iris’ face, while it was pulsating. “Her signature,” Iris thought “Must be how she hit that rock so hard. It has to have something to do with her eating that rock.” Iris dodged the swing, and hit Jewel with her cue stick. Jewel backed up, and Iris tried to hit her again. However, Jewel did an accidental swing as she was flailing her arms, and hit Iris. Iris was hit and was launched on a nearby hill on the mountain. Iris fell to the ground, and Jewel walked up to her. Iris got back on her feet, and asked Jewel, “Your signature allows you to use a lot of force in your golf club, right? And only when you eat rocks, right?” Jewel nodded, “That’s pretty much it. You seem pretty smart. You should just let me hit you and walk away. I don’t really pay attention in my history class, but you should at least know of Hammurabi’s Code, right? Eye for an eye, which means that since you hit my face, I have all the right to hit your own. That’s just common sense.” Iris told her, “Well, you hit me with the rock, so that should even it out. Unless you consider that to be a separate offense, then I have the right to hit you with a rock. That’s just common sense.” Jewel thought about it, “Well, that was self defense. I didn’t know if you would hit me again, and so I attacked before you could.” Iris was silent. Jewel smiled, “That silence means I’m right. Hoorah! And now, I’ll hit your face.” Jewel hit the golf club downwards towards Iris’s head, and Iris dodged. The golf club caused the ground to fissure a little, and the hill broke apart. The hill was about to fall on Iris, but she ran off and pushed Jewel into it. The hill fell on her, and Jewel was stuck under it. However, she used her golf club to break the hill in half, and threw a piece of the hill at Iris. Iris was hit by it, and almost thrown off the mountain completely, but was able to hold on by pushing her cue stick into the ground and holding onto it. Jewel picked up a few rocks, and ate them. “My signature, Rock Lobster, will finish you off!” Her golf club started glowing again, and she swung a huge rock on the ground at Iris. Iris used Slide Zone to inspect the rock as it was being thrown at her. Iris stuck her cue stick in a crack in the rock, and this stopped the rock a little bit. However, the rock was almost thrown off, with Iris having to hold onto it with her cue stick. It was almost hanging off the mountain. Iris tried picking up the rock, but couldn’t. Iris threw a cue ball at Jewel, and she swung the cue ball back at her. It broke into two, and both hit Iris. Iris was knocked back, and fell off the mountain. However, she was holding onto her cue stick, which was still in the rock. The rock had still been at the top of the mountain, and was holding Iris up. Iris looked down and saw a path under her, however the path was about 30 feet under her. When Iris looked up, she saw Jewel looking at the view atop the mountain. She then looked down at Iris, and said, “Well, this is karma for not letting me hit your head. Don’t blame me, blame yourself.” She then hit the rock with her golf club, and the rock broke in half. The cue stick wasn’t in the rock anymore, and Iris began falling. Iris stuck the cue stick to the side of the mountain to stop her fall. Jewel ate a few more rocks, and positioned her club so that the head was off the edge of the mountain. Then, she pulled the club to her, and the force made a crack in the mountain that reached about a few feet below Iris. Then, the crack got big, and Iris fell where she was. Iris used her cue stick to get in the crack, with her stick on both ends of the crack. Jewel had her fingers counting, “3, 2, 1…” Then, a bunch of dirt avalanched into the crack. Iris got out of the crack, using her stick to hold onto the side of the mountain as she had done before. However, Jewel was riding the dirt down the mountain. She had her golf club and swung at Iris’ head. Iris let go of her stick from the hit, and began to fall. Jewel stuck her club into the side of the mountain and stood on it. Iris caught onto the club by it’s head. Jewel sighed, “Finally, I got you. Hoorah! Now, we just have to get out of this sticky situation.” Iris tried climbing on the club, “Okay…yeah, you’re right, let’s get out of this situation.” Jewel pulled Iris’ cue stick out of the mountain, and gave it to her. They both slid down the mountain with their respective items, and landed on the path. Jewel was right next to the giant rock that Iris’ cue stick was in before, and Iris was a few feet away from her, on the lower part of the path that went down the mountain. Jewel began walking away, and Iris took out a cue ball from her pocket. She then hit it with her cue stick, and it hit Jewel on the side of her head. “DAMNIT, WHAT WAS THAT FOR?” Iris told her once again, “You are throwing people off the mountain!” Jewel asked her, “So what? It is not any of your business.” She started walking to the rock. “Rock Lobster is a signature that transfers power from the Earth to metal objects. Of course, I don’t have much other than this club.” Jewel started eating at the rock, and Iris tried hitting another ball at her, but she blocked it with her club. When she was finished eating the rock, she pushed her club into the ground. She then yelled, “Earth’s metal, kill her!” Then, a large metal pillar emerged from the ground, and Iris was hit by it. Iris was pushed into the air, and pushed her cue stick into the pillar. She had her eyes closed, and fell off the side of the mountain. Jewel was relieved, and walked down the path, “Hoorah! Maybe, I’ve done enough golfing for today…” However, as she was walking at the edge of the path, she felt a hand grab onto her leg. As she looked down, she saw Iris, who was holding onto an opening in the side of the mountain. Iris still had her eyes closed, as she was using Slide Zone. She pulled Jewel down, and got up on the path. Jewel held onto the opening, but it was about to be filled with dirt. Iris told her, “Jewel Par, your murders on this mountain are over.” However, someone pushed Iris away, and held their hand out to Jewel. It was the person she had hit off the mountain. “Grab my hand Jewel!” Jewel grabbed his hand, and he brought her up the mountain. Iris was confused, “Wait? How did you survive falling off the mountain?” The man told her, “I’m a fan of hers, and I wanted to feel the power of a golf player. So, I asked her to hit me off, since I have this parachute I ended up fine.” The man then pointed at the parachute on his back. Iris sighed, “Oh…I’m sorry Jewel.” Jewel walked up to her, and slapped her in the face. “Now we’re even! Hoorah!” Iris asked, “Do you know where the Mountain Killer is?” Jewel shook her head, “No clue, but if I had to guess it’s probably the person who made these mountains. They’re in one of the hills on the west mountain, which has a bridge connected to this mountain.” She felt her head, “Ugh…” She left with her fan. Iris went up the mountain, and looked around for the bridge. It was hard with the hills around. Eventually, she saw someone sitting around the edge of the mountain. She noticed it was Filip Forge. She asked him, “Hey Filip, what are you doing here?” Filip turned around, “Oh…hey Iris. I came here just to watch the scenery from the top of the mountain.” Iris sat next to him, “Have you heard of the Mountain Killer?” Filip nodded, “I’m not really scared of him.” Iris replied, “I can see that. So, where is the bridge leading to the other mountain?” Filip pointed to the left, “That way.” Iris looked at the trees around for a few seconds, before getting up, “Thanks, see you later.” She was about to walk off, before Filip said, “Wait.” Iris turned to him. “I know I helped you out when you were looking for Nicholas, but I won’t be helping you and your friends anymore. Please understand that.” Iris said, “Alright,” and started heading off. She walked up to the bridge, and checked how stable it was. It didn’t seem very stable, and Iris said to herself, “Hmm…this doesn’t seem very well made. I’m light though, so I should be fine. I hope.” She carefully walked across the bridge, and made it to the other side. The mountain top’s area was distinctly less than the middle one’s, only being about the size of the cafeteria. She looked at some of the hills, and saw a hole in one of them. It was very dark inside, with only one hole at the top giving light. Iris walked inside, and as she walked further inside, it got even darker. She noticed someone sitting in a chair. Walking further, she saw it to be the figure of a tall boy, with his head lying on his hand and a bowler hat on. Iris walked further, but in an authoritative tone, the boy said, “Stop. Go to the spot where the light is.” Iris walked into the light. The boy got off his chair, and walked towards Iris. He stepped into the light, where Iris saw his black eyes, and a strand of navy blue hair coming out from his bowler hat. He had his left hand holding his hat. The boy looked intently at Iris’s face, and circled around her. “Your skin is like gold,” He told her, “And your hair is as smooth as a cloud. The red’s intensity balances with the soft expression you have. Cute is a demeaning word, but that’s the only way I can describe it.” He put his finger to his chin, and looked Iris directly in her eyes. “Your eyes have a sense of deepness and mystery.” Iris looked away, and asked him, “What are you saying?” The boy took a breath, “What I’m trying to say is…you’re a very pretty girl.” Iris looked at him with a straight face, “Okay, I’m gonna ask you straight up. Are you the one who’s been killing people on this mountain? Are you the Mountain Killer?” The boy shook his head, “I only made these mountains, using my signature, No Mountain High Enough.” He turned his head, “Why is such a pretty girl like you looking for a killer.” She answered, “I just think that they should stop, and clearly they aren’t going to anytime soon.” He looked towards the light coming in the hill. “A righteous type? Alright, let me come help you find this killer.” He looked back down, and dug his hand into his pocket. He pulled out a brass knuckle, and using his one hand, put it on. He then asked Iris, “How do you know I’m not the killer?” Iris grabbed onto her cue stick, and hit him with it. He fell to the ground, and she answered, “I don’t.” She left the hill, and the boy followed. “Wait,” he said, “I was just joking. It was really tasteless, I’m sorry. My name is Beck Lottagrand, and I’m sorry.” Iris said, “I’ll forgive you. But can you answer this? Who is that person sleeping in the corner of the hill?” Beck looked to a dark corner, and saw the person, “Oh, that’s just my friend. She prefers to sleep on the ground.” The person was a girl, with really curly brown hair. Then Iris asked, “Ok, then answer this. Who is that person sitting at the top of the hill?” Beck looked at the top of the hill, “I have no clue.” It was a boy with spiky deep magenta hair. He was watching Iris and Beck with ominous gray eyes. “Get off my hill,” Beck yelled at him. The boy jumped off from the hill, and walked up to Beck. He walked up real close to him, and Beck began backing away. The boy kept up his pace, until Beck tripped. The boy then kneeled to Beck, and told him “Stay. out. of. this.” He then turned to Iris. “Iris Ingrene. I’ll keep this brief. The Mountain Killer you’ve been searching for is me, Saturn Sumoku. I killed those people to lure you here. But why? Because…I’ve come to kill you.” Iris held a cue ball in her hand, “Try it.” The boy’s hands became surrounded with smoke, moving in a spiral. He then held his hands up, and swung them downwards. The smoke hit the ground, and the force of it had propelled him towards Iris. Iris took a cue ball and hit it towards Saturn. The cue ball went right through him, the areas it hit turning into smoke, and back into normal when it passed. Saturn was about to punch Iris, but his fist turned into smoke, and surrounded Iris' head. Saturn landed on the ground a little behind Iris, and the smoke surrounding Iris’ head was quickly going inside her lungs. She started coughing, and Saturn had a satisfied look on his face. “Heh. I could just leave you to die of a lung disease. But, I’ve got to make sure you can’t get healed by The Healer.” Iris stopped coughing, and the smoke left through her nose. The smoke then went back to Saturn, and it turned back into his fist. “Your signature is named Slide Zone, and it allows you to see around. My signature is named Paparazzi, and it allows me to turn my body into smoke. Clearly, there is a power gap.” Beck got up, and the girl who was in the hill walked out. She was rubbing her eyes, and looked tired. “What’s all this racket,” She asked groggily. “That guy there, the one with the magenta hair, is trying to kill that girl with the red hair.” The girl yawned, “Quite the scene, why are you here?” Beck answered, “I’m interested in seeing what this Iris girl is all about.” The girl tugged on Beck’s arm, and sluggishly said, “What a bore. Come on Beck~baby, let’s go somewhere else.” Beck pulled his arm back, and got mad at her. “For fucks sake, WOULD YOU STOP CALLING ME THAT?” The girl responded, “You shouldn’t yell.” Beck exploded, “I TOLD YOU TO STOP FUCKING CALLING ME THAT! WE ARE NOT DATING! I’LL KNOCK YOUR FUCKING LIGHTS OUT BITCH!” The girl said, “Ok, give me a minute.” She took a water bottle and chugged it. She then raged back at Beck with the same energy, “DO YOU THINK I'M SCARED OF YOU? YOU HIT LIKE A FUCKING STICK! YOU ARE WEAK AS SHIT. ME ON THE OTHER HAND, I’LL FUCKING KILL YOUR STUPID ASS. TRY TO HIT ME, GO ON! I BET I WOULDN’T EVEN FEEL IT.” Iris and Saturn watched them argue. Saturn told Iris, “You know, this is kind of awkward. I usually try to stay serious in situations like these, but even I can’t help but watch what happens next.” Beck retorted, “OH YEAH, SURE YOU CAN BEAT MY ASS! DON’T YOU REMEMBER LAST YEAR AT THE NEW YEAR'S PARTY?” She argued, “ONE FUCKING TIME! YOU BEAT ME ONE FUCKING TIME IN THAT WHOLE YEAR!” “THAT WAS ONE OF OUR BETTER YEARS? YOU REMEMBER THE YEAR BEFORE? AND THE YEAR BEFORE? AND THE YEAR BEFORE?” “YOU MUST HAVE BRAIN DAMAGE, I WON IN ALL OF THOSE YEARS!” Iris took the opportunity to try and whack Saturn in the head with her stick. Saturn quickly turned his head into smoke, and grabbed the stick. “OKAY, LET’S HAVE ANOTHER FIGHT. TO PROVE TO YOUR STUPID ASS THAT I’M BETTER. BUT NO SIGNATURES! FOR FUCKS SAKE, IT WON’T BE FAIR IF YOU USED YOURS,” Beck proposed. The girl smirked, “ALRIGHT THEN, LET’S DO IT. BUT YOU’LL HAVE TO LOSE THE BRASS KNUCKLE!” Beck looked at the brass knuckle on his hand, and winced, “Er…Beverley…did I ever tell you how much I love you?” The girl smiled, “That’s what I thought you’d say! We’re still fighting though. I’ll be at your dorm room waiting to kick your ass,” She then left. Saturn turned to Iris, “I can’t have you hindering the progress of the great Stem Assassin any longer.” He then let go of the stick, and Iris pulled it back to her, and stepped back. “Haven’t you heard of him? The Stem Assassin, the greatest assassin of all mankind. He has had over 700 kills, and it’s become part of his daily routine. He is the one who sent me to kill you.” Iris stabbed through Saturn with her stick, which went through him. As he tried to grab the stick with his hand, Iris swung the stick to his hand. It hit his hand, and she pulled the stick back. Iris said, “So, do you only turn into smoke when you want to?” Saturn said, “I don’t have to answer that. But hey, you’re pretty clever. Not as clever as the Stem Assassin. He…he has the talent of a god. No one could ever compare to his efficient killing. He alone must have changed the lives of millions-no, billions. I admire him, and moved here to Florida all the way from New York. I tracked his location, and found out where he lived.” Saturn smiled, “I remember the day like it was yesterday. I told him about how I was a fan, and he dismissed me right then and there. So then I went to the same school as him, and I got a powerful signature. It took some time, but eventually he accepted me and sent me on this mission. I cannot fail this, I have to prove myself worthy!” He then charged at Iris. But before he could make it to her, Beck jumped at him and punched him in the face. But the punch went through him, and Beck’s entire body went through him. But when Saturn’s body turned back into smoke, Beck did a high kick and hit him from the back of his head. Saturn turned around and punched Beck in the head. Saturn turned his fist into smoke, and put the smoke inside of Beck’s throat so that he couldn’t breathe. From behind, Iris hit Saturn with her cue stick. When Saturn turned around, Beck tried punching him from behind. But Saturn learned, and made his whole head smoke. However, as soon as Saturn turned his head back to normal, Beck punched him again. Growing frustrated, Saturn turned his whole body into smoke, and fell to the ground. He then moved away from the two. About 15 feet away, he turned back into his normal form, and held his hands out. “I’ve never tried this,” he muttered to himself, “but it’s got to work.” He then yelled to the two, “Smoke Spiral!” Then, he turned his body into two smoke spirals, starting with his fists. Then, the smoke spirals went to Iris and Beck. As they got close, the spirals turned into fists to punch the two. Iris was blocking the punches with her stick, but Beck was getting hit by them. Iris and Beck began getting separated. Saturn turned the smoke spiral hitting Beck back into half of his body, and told Beck, “I only needed to kill Iris, but you had to interfere didn’t you.” He then turned back into a smoke spiral, and kept punching Beck. Beck took off his brass knuckle, and pointed to his two other mountains with two of his fingers. His fingers began glowing green, and the mountains started going into the ground. Eventually, the mountains were gone. Beck had a plan. He pointed to the sky, and the clouds began to clear up around the area. From high in the sky above them, an upside down mountain was formed. It was quickly falling onto the mountain that he was on. Beck ran to Iris, “IRIS!!!!” He pushed her off the mountain, falling off of it himself as well. “BWAAAAAAAAAAM!!!!!” The upside down mountain then landed on the upright one, with Saturn getting stuck in the middle. Noronake, who was on the ground recording, was shaken up by the impact. As Iris and Beck were falling, Beck pointed to the ground. A large pillar came up, and hit the two. The force from the hit had pushed them up to the flat top of the upside down mountain. Iris was taken aback by the experience. “What in the world,” she asked Beck. Beck explained, “Well, now he’s sandwiched the two mountains.” Iris looked at Beck, and noticed he’s had his hand holding onto his hat since they met. Beck looked off at the edge of the mountain, which was now high above the clouds. “This is pretty scenic,” he said. Iris ignored what he said, and asked, “How do we get back down?" Beck answered, "I can make it so that the mountain goes down slowly." They then heard a "PRRRR" sound. "Do you hear that," Iris asked. Beck answered, "Yeah, it's coming from over there." He pointed to a crack in the ground, which was spewing air. “It probably has something to do with the air being squished between the two, so it’ll escape in the cracks. Don’t worry, smoke can’t go through it because...actually, I don’t know if it can.” Iris facepalmed, and sighed, “Of course…” They both walked up to the crack. “Yeah, you’ll only see air come from here,” Beck reassured Iris. Then, smoke started coming from the crack. Beck looked at the crack dumbfounded, thinking about what he had just said. Iris remarked, “The air seems a whole lot darker than I would think it’d be.” The smoke then began turning into Saturn, making his way out of the crack. Iris and Beck looked at each other, and started hitting him. Beck was kicking him, while Iris was hitting him with her stick. However, even from the blows he was taking, he was still getting up. As his whole body was out of the crack, he was kneeling. He turned his two hands into smoke, and the smoke surrounded Iris and Beck’s necks. They then started choking the two. Saturn stood up, and walked away. “I don’t know how, but I’ll have to find a way down this mountain,” he said. Iris held up her cue stick, and threw it at Saturn. Saturn turned around, and it hit him straight in the eye. “RRRRRRRWWWWWAAAAAAA” He loudly groaned, as the smoke around Iris and Beck’s necks went over to him. They turned back into his hands, and reattached to his body. He held his hands to his eye, while staggered backwards. Iris and Beck ran to him, while Iris picked her stick back up. He then fell off the mountain top. When the two looked down at him falling, he was falling enraged. “YOU’RE ALL DEAD WAHAHAHA,” He yelled, before disappearing in the clouds. Beck said, “That doesn’t really bode well with me.” The clouds began turning a gray color. The gray clouds started to rise over the mountain. “Oh no,” Iris worried. Then, the clouds all formed into one monumental smoke figure of Saturn. It was only down to about his chest, but it was so huge that if it went down to his feet then it would most definitely touch the ground. Saturn boomed, “I’ll snuff you all out! For you’re in the way of the great Stem Assassin!” He turned his fingers into large rings. The rings were spinning around at fast speeds, and landed on the top of the mountain. They began going in different random directions. Iris and Beck were avoiding the rings. Iris was trying to dodge them, but one of them passed really close by. The wind from it had made her hair blow a little, and when she looked down to her stick, it was cut in half. “Damn…” she thought to herself. Beck looked around, and clenched his teeth. He pointed down to the pillar he made earlier, with his hand glowing green using No Mountain High Enough. He then took a deep breath. “My signature doesn’t only allow me to make mountains…” He remembered back to the time when he asked Clara Clark about his signature.

Sometime during the second week of school

Beck was walking around the school during lunch, when he saw Clara. He walked up to her, “Hello. You’re Clara Clark, right? Can you tell me what my signature is?” Clara said, “Alright…” She stared at him, using Clarity as her eyes turned white. Once she was finished, she told him, “Hmm, your signature allows you to make large objects. Like mountains and clouds. However, there is a limited amount of mass that you can make, and you have to use at least 10% of it each time you use your signature.” Beck said, “Hmm, I guess that’s…something.”

Present

Beck got rid of the green pillar. “Right now, I have about 40% of mass left…” He then pointed to the ground a ways away, and made a giant wind turbine. The turbine began blowing away all the smoke, and Saturn was getting blown away too. Iris was having trouble standing, and the flower in her hair had flown away. Beck was holding on tightly to his hat. Saturn turned back into a human form, and fell to the ground. As the clouds went away, Beck pointed at the turbine to remove it. He stood back up. Iris looked at her stick, which was really short. She threw it at Saturn. Saturn turned his arm into a smoke boomerang, and threw it with his other. The boomerang completely cut the stick, making it fall to the ground. Iris dodged the boomerang. The boomerang’s trajectory was on its way to Beck. Beck saw Iris’ flower in the air, and was trying to catch it. For the first time, both of Beck’s hands were off of his hat. The boomerang missed Beck, but the wind from it had blown his hat off. When the hat was knocked off, Beck’s hair, which was bundled inside, had fallen from it. It revealed long navy blue hair that went all the way down to his knees. He began to shiver, with a disturbed look on his face. The boomerang went back to Saturn, and it turned back into his arm. Saturn started running to Iris. In a last ditch effort, Iris threw a cue ball at Saturn. However, Saturn was easily able to turn into smoke to block it. However, once it passed through his body, he caught it with his hand. He then hit Iris in the face with it. Iris fell to the ground, as she looked up at his face. She noted his bloody eye. “Iris…you have no idea what power is,” he told her, as he started striking her with the cue ball. Beck slowly walked up to him. “That was you,” he said, “that was you who took off my hat.” He was still shivering, and shrieked, “IT WAS YOU WHO REVEALED MY HAIR? MY HAIR!” He then put brass knuckles on both of his hands, and ran to Saturn. He punched Saturn, and then punched Saturn again, “YOU’RE GONNA GET IT NOW!” He started to let out a flurry of punches at Saturn, “WAHHHHHH! FOOOOOWAHHHHHHH! FOOOOOOOWAHHHHHHH!” Saturn couldn’t turn into smoke, he didn’t have any time to. Beck was punching him too fast. Beck then let out a final punch, “YOU CAN’T SEE MY HAIR!!!!!” Saturn was knocked off of the mountain, and began falling. Saturn groaned, “I’m sorry…I failed you…Chance…” Beck created a giant pillar in the sky, and it was falling on Saturn. As it fell to the ground, it squished him. The only part of his body that wasn’t completely crushed was his arm, which was vigorously twitching. Iris stood up, and Beck looked at her. “What the hell even are you,” Iris asked him. Beck tried covering his hair with his hands, “YOU’RE SAYING THAT BECAUSE OF MY HAIR…YOU ARE, AREN’T YOU?” Iris laughed, “No, just because of the way you act…” Iris picked up his hat, and gave it to him. “Hide your hair, but I kind of like it.” Beck snatched his hat, and carefully put all of his hair in it before putting it on. He then cleared his throat, “WELL THEN, Iris. I believe this is the end of your time at this mountain, since we’ve done the Mountain Killer in. But I quite like you, so could I have your phone number?” Iris said, “Sure.” She exchanged numbers with him. Beck looked to the sky. “You know Iris, you were pretty cool today.” He looked in her eyes, “Would you like to be my girlfriend?” Iris smiled, “No.” Beck winced, “Ughhhhhh, that’s 57 now…” Beck held onto his hat with both of his hands, “IT’S NOT BECAUSE OF MY HAIR, IS IT?” Iris shook her head, “I just don’t know you. And from what I’ve seen, you seem like a total nutjob.” Beck sighed, “I guess that makes sense…” Iris thought, “But…I’m free this Saturday if you’d like to go somewhere then.” Beck got excited, “Like a date? Oh I could definitely go! There’s a Festa Fantasia nearby, I hear that they’ve got some of the best Italian food.” Iris said, “Then, I guess it’s a plan.”
