You Can Never Leave me

Change of P.O.V: Sam:

When I woke up the first thing I saw was the keychain Judy gave to me, I was still holding it in my hand.

I remembered how I cried myself to sleep the night before and how I held that keychain close to my chest as I slept.

I clenched the hand holding it and set on my bed, it has been a while since I and Brittney started sleeping in different rooms, it was her idea as she said that I was too clingy and she needed some time and space for herself, so she took our bedroom and left me to choose from the others.

I remember that I was quite shocked and panicked back then and tried my best to think of a reason that might have made her mad, after all, it's always my fault.

But no matter how much I thought I couldn't come up with anything, but I knew that it was something I did that made her like that.

So trying my best to make it up for her, I woke up early the next day and made her a great lovely breakfast, trying to show her that I'm sorry for whatever it was that I did.

Yet nothing changed, she just had her breakfast and left without even saying thank you.

Thinking about all of that, I felt some bitterness in my chest and I held the keychain tighter.

I stood and left the room heading to the bathroom, as I expected Brittney was still asleep, she was nowhere to be seen and the door to her room was closed.

I was still holding the keychain, so I moved to put it on the table before going to the bathroom, but just as I put it down I heard a noise from the bathroom and Brittney came from there.

I was surprised because she doesn't wake up early most of the time, and she would only wake up after I left to work.

"G- Good morning Brittney, you're early today," I spoke to her in that soft tone I became used to using around her.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

"I have somewhere to be today.." She answered before her eyes fall on the keychain on the table.

Seeing that my heart fall, Brittney was way too jealous of a person and she would even get mad at me if I just talked with an attractive girl, accusing me of cheating her and being unfaithful.

I've suffered from that way more than I can remember, it reached the point where I've already cut contact with most of my old friends.

And seeing her eyes and the expression on her face I knew what was coming.

As I expected, Brittney's expression fell before turning to me, smiling and saying:

"That's a new keychain, where did you get it from."

"I- I..." I stuttered under her stare for a while before managing to blurt out: "I bought it."

I was panicking and I didn't know what to do, I knew that Brittney can always see through my lies and I was never able to trick her.

"Huh, you bought it you say..." While letting out a mocking chuckle she walked towards me.

I got scared and took a few steps back, yet she kept moving towards me till my back was against the wall.

She then lifted her hands and put them around my neck, feeling the cold, slender fingers tightening bit by bit around my neck, my heartbeats got faster and faster but I felt cold all around.

Brittney was physically violent with me only one time in our whole relationship, but sometimes when she gets angry, she would threaten me with it or try to recreate what happened back then, as if trying to make me remember and never forget it.

Her fingers didn't tighten a lot but it still made it uncomfortable to breathe, and along with my panicked state it was even worst.

Bringing her lips close to my ears she whispered:

"You aren't cheating on me, are you? You should know that you can never leave me, I will always find you, and I will always get you, you're mine, you get that?"

Along with that last question, her hand tightened around my neck and I started choking, amidst my panic, fear and shock, I did my best to nod, showing that I understood what she just said.

Removing her hand from my neck she stepped away from me and moved towards the table, while I fall to the ground holding my neck and coughing.

lifting the glass puppy keychain, she waited for me to recover before saying to me while looking at it:

"It's actually quite cute, but unfortunately, it wasn't from me."

While shouting the last part, using all her strength, she threw it to the ground as hard as she can, breaking it.

Looking at the few pieces on the ground I just sat there frozen.

Brittney didn't care about me anymore and she moved to her room to change before leaving the house, leaving me sitting on the ground crying.

It took me a while to calm down and I moved to the glass shreds unsteadily.

Maybe because the glass puppy was already so small after it broke there wasn't a lot of pieces and I was able to collect all of them.

Looking at the shreds of glass in my hand, the face of Judy, when she gave it to me, came to my mind, and I felt even worst.
