Chapter 6 : Meaning of Words Part One

'I am fully spent now'

There was nothing at the moment I wanted to deal with, so I sat down and sighed in brief relief seeing that how the messages were not present there when I closed my eyes.

'Atleast this won't be affecting my sleep'

When I opened my eyes and looked sideways I saw the book floating still in the air at a small distance.

It did not try to chase me nor did I got ready to run and fully with the intention to end this farce I moved towards it fueled by the anger from the absurdity from the series of situation.

Not moving in any particular direction even as I walked towards it and when I reached to it's close vicinity did some words started form on its open pages in golden sparks.

[Please ask of what you would like to know]

Not the sort of line I expected from a haunted stationary item. I would have either gone with a commonly known riddle or thinly veiled threat but then again who was I to appropriate something that a ghostly apparition can or cannot do. Still I humored it's suggestion and asked.

"Uh, I don't know, tell me how could I stop that Werewolf from permanently reaching the rooftop?", deadpanned and expecting it to jump at me at any second I backed up a little.

To my surprise no attack came and the book did not launch itself but instead the previous words faded from it and a single word took it's place in a larger letter as the book itself turned illusory and completely faded away while leaving behind a gold colored word there in it's place.

'Okay...traps huh?"

Looking at it closer I dared to touch it believing it to disappear as well only for a series of images and information transferred directly to my mind about some different locations and the types of various items in this dormitory that I could make into traps which I could already see working on that big bad wolf that wished to cry at the moon.

A strange help that came out of nowhere but not too unusual for the current situation so I did not mind and moved in order to start working as I had no idea how long this knowledge would last in my mind me thus moving towards the stairs I went downwards where I could collect some important tools and an extremely special one from the warden's office.

"Goodby-"

Before I could bid the farewells my body went into it's unconscious state and vanished from the white void. Going back to my room where it had been once dragged from.

All throughout which 'I' remained.

This shortcut process of making me a Divine separated the mortal component of my soul from it's immortal half which took away my body and send it back while separating us into two different individuals like how twins do at birth.

Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit.

From all the information that [Secrets of Shadows] told me and also provided me in that contract which explained that I was now in the process of of taking his place as a Divine of wisdom that was actually meant to be fulfilled by me in a far, far away future but came way too early due to him being trying to circumvent it but got stopped in process due to having underestimated the strength of the Divine called [Determiner of Fate].

Now that would have fine but that old silhouette of a man had to make it more complicated by that Simulation spell of his which gave him enough error and trial to go through all five stages of grief and find a way to get out of this mess he started.

Through making a massive compromise.

The horror that involved in this statement was enough to shake most of the intelligent universe - yeah there is other intelligent life in the universe - but perhaps that very nature of his allowed him to achieve so much and circumvent fate as he stated to have done so a few times before.

Still the main factor why accepted his proposal was for these two reasons.

First, that my mortal vessel would have gone into a permanent vegetative state without my immortal soul in it and just the mortal soon dying out which he would not let it occur by acting as a temporary half for as long as my other self is not capable to of live perfectly fine without it. Once it does I have to then give it a suitable vessel.

Thankfully, the contract he made also stated that he won't be gunning for this position as the Divine of Wisdom from this line which I quote, 'Since I have run dry all it's benefits and will go with an entirely different route'.

A line I could imagine a corrupt minister to say at the end of their term.

Second reason was the fact that I wished to leave this infinite stretch of a white void as soon as possible before my mind went completely dull due to lack of any physical sensation except for my sight which other than the color white showed me the vague black outline etched in my previous body's shape that also worked to separate my existence from the rest of this void.

Trying to voice out a confirmation to began from force of habit came upon the realization that I had no voice or a neck.

'I hate this. Anyways, time to unravel!'

If I had some powers or maybe just a music app then the song by that name would have start playing or atleast I would have thought the lyrics if not only for the fact that this process required me to make a conscious effort into not making any surface thoughts and the rest of what happened passed by a blur.

The outline of my body or atleast the shape left of it disconnected from a spot and then turned into few disjointed spirals that straightened out and became a line with an arrowhead.

At which I internally shouted like a captain commandeering his ship.

'Onwards!'

It then shot out travelling through the vast colorless space.

According to the information I remember it was supposed to be a shocking discovery made after going through a journey of self-reflection and loosing every unnecessary part of yourself including even your general shape finally allowing you to freely move in a space where you held no power at previously.

Thankfully it was easier for me to do so because from what I understood since I did not have any abilities that were gained by some unknown source or from some higher being and neither has my body living long past it's prime than my natural lifespan allows me. Therefore making it easier to allow changes to the general shape to be however I liked rather without having to put any effort while unveiling any of the things that might be within or without my control.

Some time later the speed at which my linear form moved kept getting faster with it increasing in size too, which was harder to figure out by how much due to there being nothing to compare my size with.

Knowing that it is what was supposed to happen did not made it any less weird than it might have looked from the outside.

My speed grew to became so fast that the white void passed by me and led me through a scenery with more colors than I could recognize and finally some time the colors became few and all of which I knew, revealing to me the grasslands above it there was black sky with some passing meteors but none of the comets from earlier, not even the red one.

Stopping for a moment I joyfully recognised the passing of the winds by it's sound and soft touch.

Finally once more I was able to see, hear, touch and...nothing more.
