Chapter 11 : Different floors of hurt

Chapter 11 : Different floors of hurt

Out of the four darts two hit the tube and bursted the tube as they struck it.

Creating a loud noise which somewhat hurt the Werewolf's ears but the after effects directly targeted the nose that assaulted it with a combination of smells still lingered and made it writhe out in pain.

With every single breath through and made it's nose to go out of commission along with that losing the ability to track Auden's scent.

This ambush on it's senses enraged the Werewolf to make it throw away all the previous caution and rush after the perpetrator before he gets away with what he did. So it climbed the stairs behind and got to the next floor where it paused as if having a déjà vu.

Once more Auden was there in the other end of the floor standing by the flight of stairs with a skateboard that he stepped off and carried in his arm for him in order to climb the next flight of stairs.

The Werewolf had a small bit of insight after seeing Auden climbing up and looked at the stairs which connected to the next floor right beside it. Those hopes were dashed as there were various chains and bedframes blocking the entry to stairs that would take more effort to overcome than just going behind Auden.

This made all the anger inside it to surge forth as it ran forward while keeping the centre of balance lower all in order to not slip and fall down like how it had before.

During that time Auden had long since climbed up the stairs and reached the next floor which the Werewolf also reached there by chasing after him and later saw Auden who this time stood in the middle of the hallway.

This time there was a small pile in some distance from him covered under a very thin sheet alongside a slightly long but thin paper rope thread that was connected to the pile. Where he then put on sunglasses while long already having his ears muffled, wrapped tight in clothes and wearing a headphone on top of them all.

For his torso he wore a few too many large size heavy-duty jackets with sizes larger than his own indicating that they were all clearly borrowed.

He then bent down and spoke one sentence before starting to set the rope on fire with a hand lighter.

"Eat these fireworks _you beast_"

Seeing how it's target first bent down and was running away from it reignited the hunting instincts as it sprinted from where it stood towards him but got interrupted by an extremely massive explosion. One full of bright light, extremely loud noises and hours of effort from a young man in hopes to get out from a situation with odds many stacked against him with only himself to count for.

The result of which pushed back the Werewolf as it got struck with fear while it's eyes got singed also as it clutched both ears tight and howled while running in order to get away from the explosions making it run to the direction of the walls where it hurt himself due to having crashing into.

The Perpetrator behind it who caused all those lights, explosion and trauma to a single man-eating monster which just hurt itself running to a wall was the young man. Who had gotten far away to have already climbed up to the landing of the stairs where he removed all his ear muffles, put the headphones inside his innermost jacket and threw away the all the other ones then moved on to the next flight of stairs from there he got to the next floor.

As he then moved around a big metal container with a liquid that it was filled to the brim with but was kept tight and sealed from the top while also connected to a pressure hose having nylon tube which he switched the power on but did not clicked the button to have it pour out from there.

Standing there for a short while he waited until the werewolf also appeared at the landing of the stairs howling in pain and anger when it stared at him with far greater intensity than before. Auden simply clicked the switched to be on and placed the handle where the Werewolf keep getting drenched as it climbs up the stairs.

Running away full speed without waiting to see the end result he got through to the next floor and passed by a small barrel at the end of those stairs and then walked through the hallway where there was a ladder present that he climbed on and jumped off it to the next ladder doing which had then brought him over the barricade he himself had created.

One that was made of many varying items which were placed likely because they were heavy and solid also most likely ransacked from other rooms including the entire cupboards or large suitcase bags filled to the brim with bedframes stacked against each other.

After getting behind all of it he did not ran to the next stairs to get to the sixth floor but rather sat down a chair from one of those rooms in this floor connected to the hallway which Auden had first closed and locked himself even though they were still ravaged and stained by their previous occupant's items and blood.

The chair he took from belonged to a person whom Auden knew, not as a friend or classmate but someone who had just let him borrow the bus fare that one time.

A lot of rooms that Auden took this stuff to make traps belonged to people he had a few interactions with and while most of which were either them just greeting him in passing there were a few times those who he did not knew that well had even invited him as an extra member for the games just because he greeted them back and made small talks from time to time.

So quietly waiting in the chair while wearing the noise cancelling headphones that was previously on his neck right after he heard pained howls and foot stomps of the beast that savagely walked through from the stairs. In reaction so he pulled out a shot gun hanging beside the large bag with most of his utensils and then undid the safety finally taking a proper shooting stance and directly looked at his target.

Not before reminiscing by himself a little.

"Like how she told me, 'Shoot only if you have the intent to kill and then you will never miss'. Well Chris, looks like I finally do"

Remembering those words of my ex who used to teach me how to hunt back then I smiled for a split second before paying attention directly in front of me looking at the stairs through a decent size hole to aim the gun.

Perhaps having realised my intention or maybe having looked at the weapon that I held it moved left to right wildly and shuffled it's body around in swift motion all of which did not matter to me as I took aim then shot accurately at the barrel of fuel right beside it.

"*Bang!*"

With only the first shot the barrel immediately exploded and the flame spread out enough to reach the Werewolf that should have caught it's body on fire due to the fuel I had spilled on it.

All of which I could not see or feel due to already having ducked and taken cover behind this barricade which I set up as it saved me from the coming heat and maybe some shrapnel shooting off from the explosions.

"Aah! Ouch"

My shoulder then ached with pain likely due to me having pulled a muscle from the recoil as the shotgun hit it. The gun I used was an old double barrel one which our old military retired warden kept on his office wall but was still well maintained by him and in working condition that I had to break out from the safety case so that I could 'borrow' it for a while.

Ignoring the pain I had in order to get up and see what happened to the Werewolf I saw it's burnt and charred body which soon stopped burning then shed it's outer skin which burnt away as it continued to shrink on itself.
