Threat

With a large grin plastered on her alluring face, Luna casually strolled into the staffroom.

"This place isn't too bad!"

"Let's get this over and done with." Adonis shook his head.

"Why're you in such a hurry, let's savour the moment."

"Caution is key."

"Booorrinng..."

'She's a literal child.' Adonis sighed.

{Reminds me of a certain someone.}

"How're we going to carry all this food?" Adonis asked, his mouth watering at the delicasies on the large table.

"Using a spatial item, duh." Luna grinned.

"Where the hell are we going to get one no-"

Adonis's train of thought came to a swift halt when he witnessed the girl pulling out a silver ring decorated with a stunning blue gem.

"You'll be in big trouble if you're caught with that on campus." Adonis shook his head.

"Even bigger trouble than triggering the academy's alarm?"

{Kukuku, she got you there...}

"Let's just get outta here." He sighed.

"Leave? Let's eat first! We'll carry the left overs later."

{You're deluded if you think there'll be left overs when you eat with this glutton.}

Main courtyard.

"What's going on?" Maxwell asked, looking around the courtyard populated by roughly four hundred and fifty teenagers.

"The academy alarm went off." Veda replied.

"Do you think this is a drill?" Vera asked.

"Probably." Jerald replied, turning his head to group of professors, elders and assistants.

***

"What's happened?" Professor Fitzburg furrowed his brows.

"We're not sure yet." Professor Shine replied.

"Are we sure it's not just a drill?" Professor van Crop asked.

"I don't think so, the Elders didn't notify us the day before." Hiram intejected.

"Even so, we must follow proper procedure." Professor Fitzburg strode toward the large crowd of teenagers, specifically the magic knights in his class: Class 1A.

"Class 1A, line up!" Lacing his voice with a strong dose of aura, Professor Fitzburg commanded the teenagers.

"Hm?"

"Yes sir."

"I'm too lazy."

"I'll be doing roll call in alphabetical order, say yes when you hear your name."

"....Triksta?" After calling out numerous names, Professor Fitzburg finally reached Luna's. When he called her name, there was no response.

"..."

"Luna Triksta!" He looked around concernedly.

"..."

"We haven't seen her or Adonis since History, sir." Maxwell called out, his cheerfulness wavering.

'Adonis?' Assistant Hiram frowned.

"Very well, I'll go look for them after roll call." Professor Fitzburg said solemnly.

"Trent!"

"Sir"

After finishing roll call Professor Fitzburg noted there were two students missing and began making preparations to reenter the academic block to search for them.

"Miss Vindicta... Look after the class" He looked at Hiram.

"Elders, we've identified the threat!" A professor dashed toward the two Elders, who were engrossed in conversation. With a weary expression, the professor addressed them.

"Was it a magic creature?" Elder van Crops snapped his head back to meet the man's gaze.

"No, it's strange..."

"Then what is it, spit it out?" Elder van Love snapped.

Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author. Report any sightings.

"Just look for yourself..." The professor pointed towards the sky.

Upon the professor's suggestion, both Elders turned their heads skyward. What they saw floating above the entire academy left them utterly shocked.

"What..."

"The fuck?"

Stationed in the comfort of the fluffy clouds was a pure white, enchanting magic circle adorned with hundreds of intricate runes that emitted a soft, dim glow.

A few seconds after their gaze landed on the magic circle, it disappeared into nothingness, as if it was never there.

"Huh?" Elder van Crops frowned.

"Search the entire academy, find the mages or magic knights who conjured that magic circle." Elder van Love screamed, her voice commanding every single professor in the academy.

7 hours later

Adonis sat in his bed casually, rubbing his stomach in pain.

"I ate too much."

{Well no shit, you ate for forty.}

"It was worth it though..." Adonis giggled.

{Doesn't seem like it, you caused quite the ruckus.}

"That just means we won't have any classes tomorrow, they're still pretty paranoid." Adonis shrugged.

{Your motives continue to puzzle me Oizys.}

"The great Devil God is puzzled? I never thought I'd see the day." Adonis teased.

{Don't patronize me mortal.}

"Hehe, to clarify. There was a logical reason behind what I did, it wasn't just impulsive."

{I don't buy it.}

"Well, let me sell it to you. There are two reasons I went along with Luna's ridiculousness: I needed to see how effective the academy's defense was and to test my magic circle proficiency."

{Makes sense. Are you satisfied with your result?}

"Very... The academy's alarm system is fairly robust, but their defense on the other hand is poor. The fact that I was able to make such a large magic circle right above their heads is poor, if I was capable of using that magic circle to its full potential I would've destroyed the academy in a few seconds."

{I think you're misunderstanding something Oizys.}

"And what is that?" Adonis asked curiously.

{The Academy's defenses aren't inadequate in the slightest, had anyone else made a magic circle of such a size it would've been detected immediately and the culprit would've been eliminaated immediately. The only reason you were able to get away with it was because of your speed.}

{What you constantly fail to acknowledge is that your mental capacity and calculation speed is above the capablities of mortals, which is why you managed to create a magic circle that dozens of mages would have struggled to make in a few hours, in just a few seconds. The defenses aren't bad but they simply weren't designed to defend against someone of your caliber.}

"Is that you praising me Lord Eos?" Adonis chuckled.

{Shut up. Go train!}

"Yes sir." Adonis sighed.

Leaping out the comfort of his bed, Adonis walked toward his artillary closet and grabbed a sharp spatha.

{Your mastery over the first stage is adequate, for a mortal.}

'Um... Thanks?'

{So today I'm going to teach you the last technique.}

'Hm? I thought I already learnt that already.' After he grabbed the blade, Adonis walked towards his private training room, opening the door eagerly.

{Well you thought wrong.}

'Rude...'

{Stop being sensitive and listen closely, I hate explaining.}

'Then why agree to be my teacher?' Adonis sighed, taking off his shirt to allow better mobility.

{Fix your tone.}

'Yes Lord Eos.'

{The Supreme Devil art is based off of different aspects of swordsmanship which I've used to divide into multiple different stages. As you may have noticed, the first stage is purely offensive and that is done intentionally.}

{There was the Earth Splitting Slash, Divine Divider and the Domain Devastation.}

'A vertial slash, horizontal slash and a diagonal slash...'

{Only thing left would be a thrust, and that's what you'll be learning today.}

'It's probably going to have a long name.' Adonis grumbled.

{Supreme Devil Art, Stage one: Assiduous Assault.}

'Called it.' Adonis grumbled.

{Shut up and get into position.}

Adonis made his way to the marble wall, where he picked up a reinforced straw doll, positioning it directly in front of him.

Widening his legs and gripping the blade tightly,he readied himself to demolish the defenseless object.

{Now, lower your hips.}

Following instructions, Adonis bent his knees and raised his blade.

{Lower!}

After a quick struggle, Adonis found the perfect position.

He fixed his gaze upon the straw doll, his silver eyes igniting with an orange hue.

DEMMMMM

{More.}

Provoking the searing sensation that dwelled in his stomach, Adonis further channeled more Wicked Aura, materializing it in the physical world.

DEMMMM

The teenage boy's canines grew, manifesting into grand fangs that bit his own lip, drawaing blood involuntarily.

DRIP DRIP

Unbothered by the deepening shade of his purple hair, which now concealed his demonic visage, Adonis emitted a monstrous growl.

{Hold it there.}

Following the Devil God's instructions, Adonis halted the supply of Wicked Aura, causing the air to vibrate violently in his presense.

{Coat.}

Bending the supernatural energy to his will, Adonis lathered his entire blade in the Wicked Aura.

CREAK

Resigning to the Wicked Aura, the boy's spatha shattered under the pressure.

SHATTER

{What happened to control Oizys?} The Devil God said irritably.

"You're the one who told me to add more." Adonis complained, his voice much deeper and monstrous.

{Don't blame me for your lack of skill mortal.}

"Whatever." He growled.

With a deliberate gesture, Adonis extended his hand, summoning a katana from his spatial ring. Its glossy red sheath glimmered, effortlessly catching the light in the room.

SHING

Unsheathing the stunning blade with haste, Adonis resumed his training with renewed focus. Although this time, he was more meticulous in applying the coating of Wicked Aura.

{Why didn't you do this the first time?}

'...'

{Thrust!}

Ignoring the persistent hallucinations induced by guilt, Adonis dashed forward, charging toward the solitary physical object in the training room.

"Supreme Devil Art..."

"Assidious Assault!" With determination, Adonis thrust his katana forward, piercing through the straw doll's body.

TSU

The blade punctured the dull upon impact, sending straw flying in all directions.

Extra Information:

The average mage can conjure a complex magic circle with a radius of 1m in five seconds.

The average magic knight can conjure a complex magic circle with a radius of 1m, in fifteen seconds.

This scale is not linear in the sense, if you are an average magic knight and wish to conjure a complex magic circle with a radius of 10m it wouldn't take one hundred and fifty seconds. BUT LONGER
