'This isn't working!' Frustrated by Adonis's reaction speed, Spur introduced her legs into the mix.

Sicily burned through more of her mana and summoned multiple moles from below, using them as an attempt to limit his movement.

'This is smart in theory but ineffective practically.' Adonis critiqued while he expertly avoided the peeping moles.

'Killing them individually would be a waste of energy.'

"Diamond magic: Quartz wall." Using a magic crystal she had placed beneath them, Spur summoned a pale crystal wall beside Adonis.

'I've got you now!' Taking advantage of Adonis's limited space, Spur fired a devastating haymaker at the Rising Star's head.

DUMMM

'I'm cornered. I have to guard.' Seeing no escape route, Adonis abandoned his evading strategy and raised his arms.

'He's blocking? His arms will be destroyed on impact.' Confused by Adonis's intentions, Spur frowned.

'I need to use Aura.' Sharing his adversary's opinion Adonis channeled a significant amount of Earthly Aura into his forearms.

DUMMM

'He channelled so much Aura in such a short period!?' Spur widened her eyes.

BAM

'I-It's so hard... He won't budge!' Spur was left speechless at the realization that she failed to cause damage to the boy's enhanced body.

Adonis pushed his right leg forward, kicking Spur in the chest and temporarily staggering her.

THUD

"TYUUU!"

Saving Spur once more, Sicily commanded an animal to interrupt Adonis; directing the mole to trip the youth.

"Ah!"

'I might seriously get hurt here if I don't take this a little more seriously.'

"AHHH!" Recovering from the blow within less than a second, Spur seized the opportunity and kicked Adonis's falling body.

BAM

Receiving the full brunt of the attack, Adonis crashed into the nearby crystal.

THUD

"Familiar Magic: Burrow Bite!"

Under Spur's control, the moles leapt out of the holes and attacked Adonis with their teeth and claws.

"TYUUU!"

"Diamond magic: Quartz Spur."

Using the everchanging runes within her pink magic circle, Spur summoned spikes from the quartz wall, directing them toward Adonis's body.

'This is getting troublesome, now I have to waste mana.' Seeing no other way out of the predicament, Adonis sighed.

Inferno magic: Hell Shroud (matter variation)

The boy’s body suddenly emanated a bright ivory flame, expunging anything that was within 1m of his figure.

"Uh!?" Alarmed by the sudden surge in mana, Spur instinctually leapt backwards.

'What the fuck was that?!' Spur snapped her head to look at Sicily, expecting answers from her all-knowing comrade.

'That's it, his magic affinity...Inferno magic.' Just as confused Spur, Sicily shrugged.

'I've only ever seen it twice, and in both situations, it worked completely differently... At the magic exam, it didn't burn or scorch the target but right now it just destroyed everything near him.'

'Let's see how well you do against overwhelming strength.' Adonis toward Spur with a determined stride, ready to engage in another hand-to-hand combat encounter.

'He's coming!' Slightly shaken up by Adonis's peculiar magic affinity, Spur got into her fighting stance.

"Hm!" Starting the encounter with flair, Adonis threw a backwards tornado kick toward Spur's chin.

'He was fast before but now it's just too much!' Enhancing her entire body with a steady flow of Earthly Aura, Spur raised her hand to block Adonis's kick.

The impact reverberated through her entire arm, creating echoes that resonated in the humid air.

'This is a completely different level!' Spur countered immediately by flinging her rear leg at Adonis's.

Ignoring Spur's attack, Adonis pushed off her hand, gathering momentum for his next move.

'What's h-' Cutting off Spur's thoughts, Adonis delivered a roundhouse kick to Spur's jaw.

Spur's body fell to the ground, her consciousness gradually leaving her body.

'I think I should end this now... I've seen the limits of her strength, speed and durability...' Before he could land on the ground, Adonis noticed Sicily preparing a huge magic circle on the ground.

'Is she planning a huge spell?'

"Familiar magic: Magic Knight."

'Magic knight? Wait, she won't.'

"Y-yes..." Spur muttered.

As if she hadn't just received a brutal attack to the face, Spur stood up; her brown eyes now subtly emitting a white hue.

"Diamond magic: Crystal champion!" Without the aid of a magic circle, Spur's body was quickly armoured by multiple large pieces of white diamond.

'She didn't use a magic circle? That means Sicily is doing the calculations for both of them... Interesting.'

Spur surged forward with newfound vigour and speed, matching the prowess Adonis had just demonstrated.

'Maybe there's more to see.' Adonis chuckled.

WHOOSH

Spur propelled her fist upwards, unleashing a deadly uppercut.

Shifting gears, Adonis stepped to the side and watched her crystal fist breeze past him.

Matching Adonis's speed once more, Spur's opposite fist followed Adonis's abdomen.

'Her attack speed increased again? She's beginning to perform at Rising Star level.'

Switching stances once more, Spur used her leg to cleave at Adonis's abdomen before it was easily caught.

'Let's check durability...' Curious to see Spur and Sicily's limits, Adonis ignited his fist with an ivory flame and punched Silicy's leg with all his might.

Adonis's ivory flames deleted Spur's diamond armour on her leg but extinguished before reaching her skin.

'I don't want to end this just yet.' Adonis decided before he extinguished the flame.

With precision, he allowed his fist to comfortably slam into her thigh.

Disregarding the pain in her thigh, Spur wildly swung at Adonis's head.

'Unshaken huh? her spirit is strong.' Adonis let go of her leg and ducked the right hook to the skull.

In less than a second, Spur's diamonds regenerated.

"Ahh!" She swiftly extended her leg, dragging it along the ground toward Adonis's ankles.

'That regeneration is impressive, I wonder if their magic output has been elevated by their link.' Adonis smirked and jumped above the leg.

Diamond magic: Quartz Spur

A long spike protruded from Spur's diamond breastplate, an attempt to catch the Rising Star off guard while in mid-air.

'I'm sure Sicily is the one casting all the spells, letting Spur focus on fighting.' Satisfied with the duo's performances, Adonis caught the protruding spike, allowing it to bite into his hand.

'I doubt this will affect me later in the event... Although I shouldn't have let this happen.'

Sicily summoned a large swarm of bees, enveloping Adonis to distract him and limit his vision.

'I figured you'd do this...' Adonis shook his head in disappointment as he watched the bees aggressively surround him.

"Sicily, as intelligent as you are. You made a huge mistake at the beginning of this battle. You believed your best options were to either fight me head-on or flee, two seemingly logical options on the surface. However, this very rationalization was based on a flawed calculation. You thought your chances of survival were close to zero, when in reality they never existed to begin with… The moment you encountered me was the moment your fate was sealed."
