Chapter 41

Decimating the six story building, Anom broke through multiple ceilings and floors, as he tried moving through the crumbling building. Putting his foot down on the third floor, it broke through, falling to the second. Finding a support beam able to briefly hold his weight, he stood up, crushing through the fourth, fifth, and sixth floor, along with the ceilings and roof.

Snatching people as he broke through their meager defenses, he realized, the building wouldn’t be able to stand much more. Jumping from the wreckage, he dropped to the ground. Boom! Thee pavement, and gravel roads couldn’t stand his weight, and cracked apart, leaving a massive indentation from his fall. Standing back up, he heard the distinct sound of helicopter blades coming his direction.

Looking up in the night sky, he began to hear the rumblings of jets, mixed in with the helicopters. Looking back at the building, he quickly ordered a retreat, once he realized most of the targets were gone anyways. Moving out, he was suddenly stopped around a mile from the building by a column of tanks, Humvees, soldiers, and artillery. Standing silently, the army regiment took aim, as anom shouted to the them. “I mean you no harm, only your- BOOM!

A Tank round exploded directly on his chest, tossing him to the ground. Rolling over, he could see where the round exploded on his armor, leaving a big dent, but fortunately, the armor prevailed. BOOM! RAT, tat, tat, tat, tat, tat, Boom! Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop. Explosions and gun fire went off everywhere, but predominately concentrated on anom's massive frame.

Rolling and dodging, he hopped up from the ground and sprinted to the closest army column. First slamming into a massive main battle tank. The tank was at least thirty feet long, and twelve feet wide. Being shorter, around 8 feet tall, it still dwarfed normal humans, and was exceptionally heavy, weighing at least a hundred thousand pounds.

Gripping with his right hand. He pushed the tank up on its hindlegs, so to speak, and used it as a shield for the gun fire. This stopped their supressive fire from mowing down the army he had brought with him. Looking back, he was happy to see the monsters following him rapidly healing, and picking themselves off the floor.

Holding the tank as a shield, he grabbed hold of the other side, and picked it up over his head. Tossing it into the formation, and crushing a Humvee and pinning another tank, while making a wall of steel for his armies protection.

Rushing forward, he kicked another Hummer in like an empty can, Screech, caving in the side doors, and punting it like a soccer ball. Boom! Pop, Pop, Boom! Pop, Pop, Pop! Rat, tat, Boom! tat, tat, tat, tat! Boom! Explosions were all around them, as he was suddenly sent flying from a massive bomb. Boom!

Rattled, he could feel his head spinning, as he looked around, and saw more bombs dropping from the sky, preparing to decimate everything in the vicinity. “FUCKERS!” Looking around, he found Eain, injured, and smashing through a group of soldiers, and their hummer, with the help of the shifters.

Oddly enough, the shifters seemed to be having a blast, and looking at their numbers, seemed to be rapidly growing from the battles. New soldier shifters were popping up everywhere, spreading confusion and fear wherever they went.

Looking up, the attack helicopters finally made their appearance, as they began unloading on the battlefield. Rattatatatatatatatatatatata! The electric Gatling guns began ripping into everything. However, on anom's armor, it felt like a pulsating massage. He Listened as the bullets hit him, and bounced off, harmlessly.

However, the sidewinder missiles that they carried, were a completely, different story. Boom! A missile hit him on the shoulder, jolting him back and sending his pain receptors reeling. Infuriated, he looked around, scooping up a handful of shifters, and hoppers, and tossed them with his full strength, and speed into the helicopter that had shot the missile. Boom! Shatter!

The Helicopters windshield shattered, as the shifters changed into a golden, steel like, amorphous blob, and shot a spike through the windshield. It entered the helicopter like a puddle of amorphous blood, shifting through the barriers. Finally inside, it changed back, smiling as it pulled the pilots into itself, devouring them completely.

Boom! Helicopters began falling from the sky, one after the other, after Anom found the trick to bringing them down. Boom! Pop, Pop, Pop, Rat, tat, tat, tat Boom! Bullets flew everywhere, with most continuing to be aimed at anom. Pulling out his Poleaxe, he raced to the nearest tank, focusing his magic into the weapon, making it crackle with electricity.

Crack! Sizzle! Boom! He slammed the axe down on the tanks main gun, and front compartment. Slicing through the hull and tracks, and cutting it in half. “AAAHHHHH!” Listening closely, he could hear the screaming of the servicemen trapped inside.

Boom! Kicking the front half of the tank off from the where he cut, he found a legless solider inside, screaming from the pain. “AAAAAAHHHHH” Seeing the pain and anguish on his face, he grabbed ahold of a shifter, tossing it on the man.

A few minutes after, the battlefield grew quiet. The only things still fighting were the jets strafing the area, and providing ground support for their eliminated ground army. Not wanting to waste his time fighting the humans, anom quickly made his way out of the city. He quickly put on his necklace while retreating.

Slowed down by the bloated group of new creatures following him, he finally made it back to the cavern. Letting the hopping vampires go in front of him, he could see them shooting to the back of the cavern, and releasing a golden light from their hands and mouth, floating up to typhus.

Making his way inside, he allowed the group of shifters to follow him, along with their new leader, the half giant, Eain. Moving to the back, he heard the familiar voice of typhus, “You did well in attaining so much energy so quickly, but tell me, what is he doing here?”

Looking around, anom became confused. "Does he mean eain, or the shifters?" Scanning the surroundings, he finally noticed. Standing in the back of the cavern was a Golden, injured ram? Looking closely, it was indeed a golden ram, and it had been severely injured. Looking behind them, he realized, it had been following them for quite a while.

Seeing the Ram looking at him with cruel, unflinching eyes, he realized there was something wrong with the ram. “Are you going to keep messing with the child, Aries?” Hearing Typhus speak. Anom jumped back and pulled out his poleaxe, ready for battle, but the ram did nothing.

Staying still and watching anom. With a sudden sigh, the ram began walking into the cave. Walking to the back, where typhus was imprisoned, he suddenly began speaking to anom. ”I do not care what you are doing here with this criminal, but I do care about the creature you brought with you, from your time.”

Beginning to understand what the god was doing here, and speaking to him, he was about to question him, when typhus spoke first. “So” “You were defeated, right?” Looking at your avatar, and judging by the fact that you won’t even let us see your godly form. I would guess you were beaten pretty badly. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, how the mighty have fallen!"

Looking awkward and embarrassed, Typhus’s words seemed to hit the nail on the head, and embarrassed the god. “Shut up you monstrous bastard.” Aries seemed to have been angered, and was growing irritated. Typhus however, seemed to grow happy, and continued mocking the god. “You were able to beat your daddy Zeus, and kicked everyone off the earth, what’s the matter? Can’t keep the prize you won yourself? Let me guess, you want my brothers help in taking care of whatever came with him. Hehe. Don’t do it kid, this bastard is just as bad and bloodthirsty as his daddy.”

Finally having enough of typhus’s mockery and distain, he shouted, creating a massive ball of plasma and fire. “ENOUGH!” The plasma and fire ball exploded, pushing everything in the room back and tossing the hopping vampires through the air. The room went silence as Aries turned to anom. “I don’t care what you are and where you came from, but you brought me a big problem. Are you going to help me or not?”

Looking at the ram I asked typhus, “How much longer until you are freed?” Thinking for a moment, typhus responded, answering, “If you can continue bringing me that amount of energy, it should be possible after a few weeks.” Shocked by the amount of energy needed, I turned to Aries, and asked, “If you help restore you, and your father’s fallen adversary, I will help you.”

“Nonsense!” He responded almost immediately. “Why would I release a monster to kill another.” The cave returned to silence as typhus’s voice was heard again. “Because you don’t have a choice.” The golden ram radiated light and tossed heat everywhere, screaming in its rage, “GOD DAMN IT!” “Fine, but you both must make an oath to fight the monster to the death once you are free.” “You must also promise to leave this world immediately after you are done, and if you defeat the beast.”

Thinking quickly, anom replied. “I do not mind these conditions, but I came here in search of something, a few things actually.” Looking back at anom, Aries responded, “Let me guess, you’re looking for the Amalthean Goat?” “Right?”
