Chapter 39
The elements grew rapidly, condensing into a large golden nugget, and a small pile of gems laying next to it. Picking it up and examining it, Chang smiled, as he looked to the rest of the group. “The next step is up to all of you.” “You can either become the next sacrifice, or help in the transfer of this Altar, and its protection." "We only need to last until the military takes possession.” Hua Jing, again, was the first to protest, throwing the proverbial monkey wrench into his plans. “Everyone, please, think things through, even if we cooperate with Chang, do you really think that the government will keep us alive, and just thank us for cooperating?” “It’s simple, we either fight, right here and now, for our freedom, and lives, or we will be sacrificed and killed later on.” “Most likely using the very Altar we were threatened by if we disobeyed now.” Turning red in embarrassment from being found out, Chang began to scream at the security officers and police, “Go get that bitch!" "Feed her to the Altar!”
Rushing to surround Jing, she fled towards the forest, hoping to make a quick escape into the wilderness. Running into the nearby brush, she slammed into something, looking up to see the missing Johnny standing there and examining the unfolding scene in front of him. “Run!" "Johnny, Chang works for the IPS, and is going to sacrifice us all to the Altar!” However, before she could make her break, she felt Johnny’s arm wrapping around her, holding her in place. Shocked, Jing looked to Johnny with a look of betrayal, quickly turning into confusion, as Johnny pulled her in, looking on the outside like he was holding onto her, and whispered something in her ear. Walking back to the group with a now compliant Jing in tow, Chang began to scream, “Where the hell have you been!” Looking at the group wound tighter than a clock, Johnny, began to speak, as he closed in on the group. “It doesn’t matter where I have been, but I did find out some interesting things while I was gone.”
Walking closer, and staring at Chang, Johnny continued speaking, “After I left the group, I met some, interesting people, and learned some, interesting things.” “For instance, most of you do not know, that this place was built on a government black site, and used as mass, unmarked graves, for the Uyghur population." "In fact, there are thousands, upon thousands, of their corpses, laying, here, just underneath our feet, begging for justice, but you already knew that, didn’t you, Chang?" "In fact there are a few of you that know this story quite well, don’t you, officers?” “You see, Chang here had a big part in the handling of, “disposal” before, and after, these people ended up here.” “and, The officers here, also had a contract with the government, making sure no one would find out about the area, and its relationship to the surrounding internment camps." "Anyone who did, would end up on the back of a milk carton, but there bodies would stay here.”
The group went silent, as everyone looked to the accused men, seeing them turning pale, with beads of sweat falling from their faces. With his eyes dilated, Chang looked at Johnny, and asked, “Who the hell are you, and who are you working for?” “The Americans?” “Japanese?” “You can’t possibly be from Africa?” Smiling, Johnny walked until he was directly over the Altar, pulling Jing along the way. “I am with no nation or group, but, if I were, I suppose I would be with justice.” “Ripping the altar out of the ground with both of his hands, he rushed towards Chang, and the security group, using the altar as a shield and a battering ram.
Pop, Pop, Pop! The sounds of gunfire resounded throughout the area, as Johnny made a mad dash at the group of security and Chang. Three bullets bit into Johnny as he made the pilgrimage, finally ending as he smashed into the group with the stone. Bang! AAAAHHH!!! Dozens of men began screaming and screeching in pain and anguish. The Altar fell to the ground, and the men, froze on the spot, falling where they stood, as soon as the altar even slightly touched them. Confused, everyone looked to Johnny, now bleeding on the floor. “What is going on John?” Jing asked, watching the group of frozen people, now struggling on the floor. "The altar, is asking for a sacrifice, these men, were part of the resentment, and grief, that grew into the altar itself, but it is ultimately still a tool." "It is up to us to choose a path." "Will we fight, and reclaim our humanity, with the help of the Altar?" "Or will we let this gift go, choosing to be weak, and letting bad men do more harm, and claim more power." "I have done all I can." "I have made my choice." "Now it is your turn."

Watching as the group of men struggled on the ground, Jing was the first to stand up and pick up one of the off duty police officers guns. Walking towards the altar, Jang Chi spoke up, “What the hell are you guys thinking?” “These are police officers, and even my former partner is a fucking IPA officer.” “If we kill them, we won’t just do life in prison, we will be killed by a firing squad, and that won’t be the worst of it.” “Our families will be shamed, and lose any advantage they might ever get, including their social credit scores.” “They won’t be able to eat, or rent a place to stay, and once a score is that low, they can’t even flee the country." "Transportation and visas are made illegal for anyone with that low of a score.” “Generations of you families will be pariah’s, and you will be the sinner of generations.” “I think it’s better to just let them sacrifice us, and pay our debt to the motherland.” “HAHAHAHAHA”
Listening to Jang, Hua Jing laughed uproariously. “That is exactly what I would expect to hear from someone indoctrinated by their country.” “The only person you owe a life to is your parents." "You owe your country nothing.” “It is your country that needs you to survive." "Not the other way around.” “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” “These are the things that every good, free country strives to possess.” “No country that forces their citizens to fight for them, through coercion, and threats of harm, to you, or your family, will stay strong for very long, but it always requires the few, brave citizens, to stand up, and say no." "Not today!" "Not with me here!" “You are saying we should be following the words of that, mass killer, instead of fighting for the justice of the lives lost directly beneath our feet?" "I say, you must be fucking mad!” Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Click.
Shooting every security officer on the ground, Jing finally ran out of bullets after the sixth shot, and human. Immediately, the altar began sucking in their blood and bodies producing a massive mound of gold and gems. Crying, she began looking around for the other revolver, until she was tackled by Jang Chi, screaming, “You mad fucking bitch!” “You’re going to kill us all you fucking bastard cunt!” Hitting and wrestling Hua Jing, Jang Chi seemed to go mad, and began dragging her to the altar. Looking at the surviving members of the security forces, he let out a breath when he saw Chang, somehow still alive, and watching his every move. “Chang, that wasn’t my fault, she just did everything so fast, I’m going to kill this bitch now.” “Please don’t be upset, and understand, I have and always stood with the government.” “I am a proud member of the CCP, and will always do the good of the government.” “They are more than our parents.” “They are our country!”
Pulling Hua Jing on top of the altar, he pointed the last revolver to her head, and Bang! The bullet pierces her head, tossing blood and flesh onto the altar, which begins absorbing it all. “Noo!!!” John screamed at the altar, turning his head he began berating the remaining group of people still free from the altars control, but doing nothing to prevent their own destruction and future genocide of the countries, “Undesirables.” “You are all fools!” “Are you truly ok with allowing the country to decide who is more important than who, and watching and standing by as they massacre entire ethnicities?” “Even if your future family and decedents do survive because of your cowardice, what kind of a world will they inhabit?” “Now is the time to fight.” “If not now, then by the time you realize the truth of the matter, it will be too late.”
Turning from sacrificing Hua Jing, Jang chi turned the revolver towards John, Bang! Once john was killed, and no one else seemed to step up and fight back, the restraining force around Chang and the remaining police officers and security detail wore off and they were able to get up off the ground. Chang immediately grabbed back the gun, now fully rattled and scared, he looked at his former business partner, and the remaining influencers, and pointed the revolver towards them, emptying the rounds, and motioning the remaining guards to finish them off. Chi, looking hopeful towards Chang, spoke out, “I did good, right Chang?” “You will let me off, right, for old time’s sake? …….Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
The smoke from the gunpowder settled to the ground as the altar began absorbing all of the corpses around the area, but something was different this time. Instead of giving back an amount of gold and gems, the altar began producing steel and flesh, mixing into a strange pulsating mass that began to grow, producing angry, screaming faces from the mix. Coming to the surface, and sinking back into its depths just as quick. Listening intently, you could hear a strange gurgling voice full of anger and violence. …………..yYyoOouUu BbAasSTtAaRrDdsS!!”
