Watching the monstrous giant rocketing towards me in madness, only one word crossed my mind as the creature neared, Hecatoncharie! This was the mad beast of the giants, that same creature that Zeus used to defeat Chronos. All celestials feared the monster! Zeus must truly despise, or fear, me to send this evil! How had it even found me? I have been wearing the circlet given to me by Oceanus. Examining the hundreds of heads atop the creature’s shoulders and chest, watching them breathe, screaming in agony and desperation; pleading to be killed to escape the torment and cruelty of the monstrous being, I realized, it had smelled me out, like an animal. I took out my poleaxe as the beast approached, and readied myself for a hard fight. Closing my helmet, I began to charge the creature myself, causing the already quaking landscape to begin shifting and rolling like smooth waves in an ocean.
Finally upon the monster, I readied myself for the impact and swung my axe head forward. The slashing axe head descended upon the brute, cutting through the creatures many heads, around what would have been its neck and clavicle, cutting down into its stomach. The beast was almost split in two but still continued its charge as it collided into me. Boom, the surroundings were hit with a shockwave as our two masses hit each other and we continued our battle. Now that I was closer to the creature I could hear the many heads of the giant better. Many of them wept and screamed, but the majority begged to be killed and were screaming at me, attempting to have me crush them, or carve them away from the monster. The only exception was a single head, large, and in the center of the mass of heads. It looked to be grinning from ear to ear and was constantly laughing as it enjoyed the tormenting of those around it. Thinking back to the stories of the Hecatoncharies being locked away forever by Uranus finally made sense. If this was just a single creature, I could only imagine fighting an army of these monsters.
Pushing the creature off of me, I found a big problem. The giant was squishy, soft, and sticky. It was like trying to fight a big mass of gum, but once I put any force on it, it solidified. The huge gash I had slashed down the giant was already sealing itself back up, and I saw no blood or fluids dripping from the wound. Feeling the creature enveloping me, and pulling me into itself, I used all of my strength and picked the creature up with both of my arms, and began slamming it into the floor. Bang, Bang, Bang! Over, and over, I smashed the giant until it let go of me and was tossed away by my strength. Looking at its now healed wound from my weapon I put my poleaxe down, and pulled out my fire sword and shield from my back. The giants heads all began to giggle and gave me words of encouragement as I rushed towards the giant on the floor, but the creatures many legs allowed it to walk on the floor like a centipede and began almost gliding over the terrain using its thousands of legs and arms all over itself.
Rushing forward, I jumped and placed the towering shield in front of me as it slammed into the monster. I felt a strange energy rushing towards the shield as electricity began rushing out of the shield into the monster and for the first time causing the main head to cry out in pain. Pulling the shield back, I stood up again with my sword in my right arm and slammed it down towards the creature. Seeing my sword coming in, for the first time the monster tried to stop the blow, grabbing a nearby tree and pulling it from the ground, using it like a club to meet my sword. Slash! The tree was cut in half, but was not entirely useless as instead of a massive wound on its body, the sword cut off a few dozen of its arms and a couple of its heads farthest from its chest. Seeing the few heads of the humanoid creatures being cut off of itself caused the creature to go into a rage and caused all the other heads to shout in happiness. The few heads that were cut off seemed to be muttering thank you as they rapidly began smoking and decayed in seconds. Looking back to the giant, I also noticed a few arms and legs falling from the creature and began decaying as well.
Screaming in anger, the beast rushed at me tackling me from the waist and using its many arms to stop me from using my sword. Pushing out with my shield I electrocuted the demon again, and using the shield began to bash it against the main head over and over again. Making enough room, I stabbed upwards into the chest of the creature as the fire began incinerating its heads and everything else around it. Pushing my weight into the flesh of the giant I started sawing with the sword and cutting through to the other side almost bisecting it. Using the creatures momentarily weakness, I slashed again, but this time aiming for many of its larger heads atop its neck. Slash! Thud, thud, thud. Multiple of the larger heads dropped to the floor as I heard a resounding cheer coming from the creatures previous victims. ROAR!!!! The main head finally recovering from the bashing, looked at the fallen and destroyed heads that it had painstakingly acquired and was beyond furious.
Reaching multiple of its massive arms behind its many heads it began to grab ahold of something. Looking at me with hate filled eyes, it began to pull on its spines and slowly ripped them from its body. The many heads began to wail in pain and agony as the spines were pulled out. With tear covered faces they begged for me to end their suffering, but the monster was now in possession of hundreds of weapons. Once the monster was finished taking the spines out from itself, they began to shudder and molded themselves into different weapons. Some grew longer, and the ends grew sharper, growing into spears. Others grew wider and connected to those closest, forming shields, and even more became swords, and even throwing javelins. Seeing the assortment of weapons now growing from the giant I knew this was not going to be easy.

The monster was upon me almost instantaneously as when his spines came out, he began to pump something into his many legs causing them to glow an ominous red and explode with speed and strength. Judging from the speed that he had just crashed into me with, he was easily two or three times as fast as before. Fortunately I kept my shield to the front, and it crashed straight into it, causing the sparse buildings in the area to be blown away in the ensuing shock. Once the monster crashed into me, it made an ear piercing sound of metal scraping against itself, and the snapping of, something. Readying myself to attack, as it smashed its weapons and bones into my shield and armor, i put my energy into my shield again creating a lightning strike on the giant and pushed out from the shield. Once the shield had opened up enough room, I straight kicked the giant with my armored boot and slashed at its arms. The flaming sword cut through multiple smaller spine spears and javelins, but was stopped by the spine shield.
Pulling my sword back up, the giant seemed to notice my weapons trouble dealing with the bulkier armor. Suddenly, more than half of the remaining weapons began to shudder again and were molded into thicker shields as the heads wailed in pain and agony. The creature, now finished with its plan once again rushed at me attempting to throw me to the ground. Fortunately, I still significantly outweigh the bastard, so it’s having a hell of a time topping me over. I bet that’s how it normally kills. Finding someone like me must really piss it off. Looking around the now destroyed section of land, I look to see if I could use anything in the surrounding area to my advantage, but only see destroyed forest and some small hills. The monster did not give me time to think though as it rammed into me again. Pushing my shield out I managed to stop the charge, but the monsters strength seems to be growing somehow.
Pushing out with my shield I began to swing my sword again, taking hits with the monsters spines and cutting into the creature with my sword, but the monster is starting to overpower me. Looking around I finally notice something odd. The area around the fighting is destroyed, but the forest even farther out has turned brown, and looks to be dying. Looking at the beast feet I finally noticed the red light that has been glowing from its legs has been pulled out from the ground. I can feel magic from the spider web like system under our feet being used by the monster itself. “I need to take this big bastard somewhere else.” Stepping back, I holstered my sword, and miniaturized my shield, becoming a bracelet on my wrist as I spun and began to run away from the forest.
The giant monstrosity was behind me, chasing me and throwing some of its javelins as me as I swerved and ducked to dodge them. Making my way a few miles I saw Kristina, still on top of the troll’s shoulders and rushing to me. Seeing her run to her death I shouted to her to go the other way, but she continued her path finally meeting up with me and jumping into my grasp. Unsure of what to do now that the big troll was in the path of the monster, Kristina pointed towards a direction and shouted to me to run towards it. Looking down to see the troll looking at me and nodding in acknowledgement, I pivoted and began sprinting towards the destination. Looking behind me as I heard a feral scream and seeing the troll being grabbed ahold of by the hundreds of arms and pulled into the creature where its head detached and moved to fill one of the better spots on top of its neck.
Kristina shed a tear as we raced to the spot she had chosen. A few minutes later I found that we were in the center of an old town that had been deserted. The houses were all derelict and boarded up with plywood. There were cars still in the driveways and buses at the school, but not a soul was around. From the look of the dust and vandalism, no one had been here in quite some time, but why would they not use the houses and town here, and instead decided to use their self-made shelters, or older buildings? Making our way towards the center of the town, I began to have a strange feeling. The forest did not grow in this area, and everything seemed to be dead. Finally arriving at the center of the town Kristina asked me to pull out my pole axe and let it transform into, "what it desired to." Unsure of her plan, but hearing the monster behind us getting closer with every second, I pulled it out and for the first time, I spoke to it. “I don’t know if you can hear me, but if you can, I’m letting you decide what you want to be.”
BZZZZZTTTTTT! Crackling blue lightning began shooting from the weapon, which then transformed into gold, and finally into a black, ominous flame. The flame began burning intensely, but did not scorch or harm me or those around me. Once the flame settled, I picked up the new weapon and was surprised to see, it was a scythe. Thinking back to the time I had used it as a scythe I began to remember the feeling from it like it was, happy, to be back in the form. Gripping the scythe in my hand I felt a deep, dark power rushing into me, and finally realized where I was. A few tens of feet away from me was a deep scar floating in the air and waiting for someone to come by who could open it. Looking to Kristina, I asked, “This is where the god was stolen?” Looking slightly surprised, she spoke, “This is the only place you could go where you might be able to fight the Hecatoncherie.” “The scythe is the key, it was the weapon of one of your fathers, Chronos. Only a chaos titan could follow an ancient of madness."
ROARR!! The monstrous giant had finally arrived and was rushing into battle again, but things would not be like it wanted this time. Thinking to myself I final decided, picking up the scythe I slashed it down on the rift opening the portal as the monster appeared behind me. Spinning around, I gripped the monster with both arms, and pulled up as I bent my back, picking him off the ground and pulling him into the open rift with me.
