“Kuma-chan… this is too hard…”

Myu is currently doing push ups.

“If you want to be a good magician… you have to build up your stamina! Get that hand moving Myu!”

Up until now Myu always used body enhancements magic to support her whenever she needed some harsh works done, but that is not a good habit.

What if her magic run out? What if magic cancellation barrier has been deployed? There are many ways to disrupt magic.

In my past life a good magician needs to have a strong body because they have to be able to do harsh manual labours.

Even holding the huge staff made out from woods and steel is not easy, even if they’re already invoked with weight reduction magic.

Myu has never use any kind of staff… maybe because she just has the instinct and talent needed for magic.

Even more so she needs to train her body.

The most problematic thing about Myu is her difficulty when put in pressured position. Like for example when fighting monsters.

“..9…10…I-I can’t anymore!”

As soon as she reached ten she let her hands loose and fell to the floor.

“Only ten? You are too weak Myu…”

I sighed as I shook my head.

“Can you still move?”

“C-can’t nya…”

Seriously?

“Okay then… tomorrow morning we will start your training for real.”

I guess I’ll let her rest for today…

“Hurry up and sleep, I will let you use the bed.”

“Waaaa! Thank you Kuma!”

She suddenly jumped and hugged my back whilst rubbing her face on it.

“Okay now stop! If you still have this much energy then I will make you run around the inn all night!”

As soon as she heard my threat, she quickly jumped towards the bed and put her self under the blanket.

“Don’t want that! Good night Kuma-chan!”

Good grief…

I asked Mii that while I looked at a brochure that I got when we went shopping earlier.

Its already this late? Guess we should go to the guild now.

I knocked at the door to the guild master’s room.

“Guild master, its me Kuu Maliaren.”

“Come in.”

A deep voice ringed from the other side of the door. 

I opened the door and went in.

“You’ve finally arrived… what took you so long…”

“Sorry… Myu’s training and some other stuff.”

“Well let’s just get this over with, I’m sleepy.”

Agree.

“Lavi! Let the girls in.”

The receptionist lady, Lavi-san brought the three girls in.

“Go on introduce your selves.”

One of the girls with red hair walked forward.

“Um… my name is Anne Salin… thank you for saving us.”

Then the third one, with a blue hair started to talk.

“My name is Rein Weirs… um… I’m grateful.”

After they are done introducing themselves, I received a gaze from guild master.

‘You too… introduce yourself!”

That’s what the eyes told me.

I stood up.

“Ah… I’m Kuu Maliaren. Nice to meet you.”

I bowed a little at the end.

“Just call him Kuma. That’s what everyone around him calls him.”

Oy! 

The guild master giggled as he suggest calling me Kuma to the girls.

After we were done with shopping we- me and Myu met with the guild master and ate dinner together.

Surprisingly we got along well, but some of his antics are getting on my nerves.

He purposefully suggest calling me by my nick name Kuma as a joke.

Even though I actually like Kuma as my name… but its just sounded too childish.

And I have taken a liking to the name Mii suggested to me.

“Hey… GUILD MASTER? What’s next on our schedule?”

“You… why is everyone around me calls me that?! I have a name! A beautiful name! And it’s Soliet Graham!”

While he was drunk I heard some of his troubles too.

And the way people addresses him is one of them.

“Shut up old bald man… don’t joke around with someone else’s name if you can’t take one thrown at you.”

“Just where is that politeness you showed us a moment ago? You brat…”

“For you? No politeness is needed… you old stink…”

He and I continued to glare at each other until Anne interfered.

“Um… can you both continue with our talk please? It’s already night…”

I backed down first and asked the guild master.

“Ah… that’s right… what do you want from me sol?”

“Umu… I want you to take along these girls with you.”

He just said something annoying.

“You want me to take them with me? You know I wanted to go to the right?”

“Yes that’s why I asked you this. I have sent a letter to the academy… the place where these girls enroll. And I asked them to prepare an envoy in . You will pass that city too right? So why not take them along?”

Well… it’s true that it is more convenient that way… but…

Mii what so you think?

Anything? He is exaggerating.

“Simple, just write me a letter of recommendation for the academy.”

“Letter? You want to enroll there?”

“If I can yeah… I made a promise with someone to accompany her to school be it as a student or working there as a janitor.”

He seemed to be deep in thought.

He… I saw him grinned…

“You… what was that grin for?”

“Grin? What grin? You must be tired…”

Really? His eyes doesn’t seem to be lying though… maybe it’s just my imagination.

I wanted to ask Mii about her comment, but…

“So? Will you write it?”

I decided to asked Soliet this instead of asking Mii, because if I stay in silence for too long will make me look weird and suspicious.

“If its just writing a letter, it’s fine. Hear that girls? Kuma will accompany you three to .”

The three girls nods.

Then we talk for a little and  I went back to the inn.

Tomorrow will be a busy day, so I slept as soon as I arrived.

As soon as the sun peeked on the horizon, I woke up.

Myu was still sleeping, so I woke her up.

Then we wash our faces and went outside.

We headed to the town’s main gate, the first thing in the list is jogging.

And so we ran around the city.

From outside of the gate, the wall dubbed ‘The Father’s wall’ by the city residents is in full view, and on the other side of the wall, roofs of some of the buildings can be seen standing tall proudly.

According to Mii, the port city architecture style is like the ones from the medieval age.

I don’t really understand what it meant, but it seems medieval was the age where kingdoms often went to war with others in order to expand their territory or some other reasons. And just like here, they still used weapons like swords, spears, etc… minus the magic.

World without magic? That sounded pretty boring to me. But it seemed there’s this thing called science that flourished in place of magic in that world.

Mii tried to explained it to me, but it’s just too complicated to understand.

“Can you do one more round Myu?”

“Yesh… ha… I still have some mana left…”

“Good, I will wait you here then.”

The plan today is for Myu to run 5 rounds, while I run 10.

Without using magic, Myu can only ran around the city one time, I let her used magic for the rest of the rounds to make her practice her magic control and mana efficiency.

I already finished my quota for today, so I waited for Myu.

“Ku-Kuma-chan… I’m done…”

It’s only been 7 minutes and she’s all wobbly.

“Come, sit here. Let’s check your control.”

“Yeeees~”

She sat in front of me and casted .

“Now… spin the fire in your hand.”

“I’ll do my best…”

Then Myu closed her eyes while I gave her instructions as guideline for what she should imagine.

She’s concentrating while occasionally let out an ‘uuuunnn’ sound.

Then slowly the fire started to spin… and then dispersed.

Myu opened her eyes while showing a disappointed face.

“Uuuu… still not good nya?”

“Nah, you’re fine… just practice more and you’ll get better.”

There are some things that I could critic, but I decided to encourage her instead.

“R-really? Then I will work hard nya!”

She cheered up while raising her fist with an ‘oooh!’ Sound.

{Good choice Kuma! You better raise up her confidence while slowly telling and fixing her mistakes! That way she can really improve a lot!}

I’ll try to remember that.

Now… let’s go and pick up those girls. There are some more shopping to be done.

“Myu let’s go… there are people that will accompany us to .”

“Really nya?!”

“Yep, so some introducing are in order… come on.”

And so we headed to the adventurer’s guild.

Myu was skipping throughout the way while singing ‘compa~nion~ friend~’ repeatedly.

People were looking at her with questionable eyes… while I tried really hard to hold my embarrassment.

After several long minutes we finally reached the adventurer’s guild.

*Kraaak!!!* 

Suddenly the door broke.  The cause is the young man that was laying on the ground coughing out blood.

“Gahahaha!!! This guild is full of weakling! Even the door is weak!”

A deep vulgar laugh and the sounds of steps could be heard coming from the guild’s entrance.

The steps are so loud and firm, it gives an ominous feeling.

And the person that emerge from the entrance is…

“A bear?”

Oops… I said that out loud…

“Who said that?!”

Ah he heard it…

I slowly raised my hand.

“Ah… that was me.”

“You dare to insult the great Giulio Foltaq?!”

“Ha? Who? Sorry if I offended you… I can’t help it… with your appearance that is…”

Voices could be heard from the surrounding people. Some are praying for my safety, while others said that I’m crazy or had lost my mind… there is even someone that shouted ‘Rest in peace kid!’.

I can’t help it okay?

His appearance is a splitting image of a bear after all. 

His hands, legs, and his chest are full of hair. He only wore a leather vest and a short pants and those didn’t help him hide his overflowing hair… 

He didn’t seem to have any weapons… 

He has a big body, almost twice as big as the guild master… and Soliet is already three times bigger than me, who looked like a 13 years old.

The bear guy… Giulio slowly walked towards me.

And then…

“You must be prepared to die~!”

His fist was already in front of my face.
