The floor of death was exactly like its description. It was teeming with danger at every corner and there were numerous traps everywhere, Accel told me. It was almost a miracle he survived this floor the last time he was here. It was a famous floor in all of the dungeon, well known for its one eyed cyclops monsters who came in hordes. And unending hordes that is. However at the end of it all is one giant cyclops which is resistant to anything but dark magic. Accel had the fight of his life in order to get past it. Who knows what we will have to face in order to even get to it. That remains the question.
I looked over to Accel, who was still fast asleep in his bed. I crack open another cold beer to drink away my worries. Such was the situation now, drinking beer in the morning. What have our standards gone to, The beer I was drinking was incredibly delicious, it was just a standard beer in the dungeon. But I remembered it to be much more delicious here than in my previous life. If only I could wish for two wishes instead at the end of the dungeon, I would wish that I would be able to go back to my original life and get the dungeon beer at the same time.
I flipped open a page of the dark magic book, it was filled with details on how to twist the other magic elements to become dark magic as well. I know that this is rather forbidden magic but I use it anyway as it is too powerful to not use it. There was not any known consequences to using it after all. I take a long look at the light magic book at the end of the table. Should I get started on it too?
Meanwhile Accel was just waking up, he groaned as he had a rather bad sleep from yesterday night. I could tell that he had a terrible hangover as he was celebrating deep into the night yesterday and only came back at four am. I never knew he was a party animal at heart. I did not even know he drinks. He told me he drinks socially only. Meanwhile it’s bad that I’m judging him as I’m the one with a cold beer in my hand in the morning.
The plan for today was simple, go to a clothes shop and get the necessary gear we need for the upcoming battles. Although Accel had upgraded his sword and shields, his clothing could use a much needed upgrade. So did mine. So we needed to visit the best boutique in the city for both magicians and warriors. And there was only one such establishment in the city. The Grand Boutique for Magicians and Warriors. That was our destination.
But first, we would have to settle our breakfast. We went around the small town looking for our next meal. And we finally settled on some piping hot chicken porridge for the morning. The dish was thick and warm, with appropriate seasoning and msg added to the concoction. I took one bite of this porridge and squeal in delight. It was perfect. The porridge stall is now in its fourth generation, having passed it down from generation to generation. It is now in the hands of the original owner’s great grandson. It was absolutely up to standard and I gave him two thumbs up on the way out. I realise getting satisfying meals was one of the ways to look past having to fight terrible monsters in this dungeon. Luckily the food was always good, and it kept getting better as the levels go on. However it was also true that it got more and more expensive the higher we climb. But so did our spoils that we get. So it all evens out.
I left the porridge stall with a belly full and full of satisfaction. And we made our way to the clothing store. As we reach the store, it was magnificent. With long banners at the front of the building that said welcome to the best clothing store in all of level four. And their latest designs all plastered over the building. We are in for a treat.

We enter the building door where there was a chime that rings as we enter. The salesperson greets us warmly and introduces their new styles for the season. This place was full of clothes and accessories. It had the best equipment for any magicians and warriors. I expected no less of The Grand Boutique for Magicians and Warriors, my expectations were not wrong at all. Rows upon rows of clothes were hanged up against the wall, waiting for our perusal. There was also accessories behind the glass cabinets that were locked away. Some of which was as valuable as my staff. One particular accessory was a bead bracelet. The salesperson told us that it is an exclusive item that is only available in this store. And it boosts mana by fifty percent. I had to get that item no matter what. The price was the equivalent of two houses worth of Durins. Which would essentially wipe out almost all my savings, but still it was worth it. I bought the bead bracelet to the counter and purchased it on the spot. That was a purchase that was well worth its price. After all more mana in a battle will always be invaluable.
Afterwards we went around the store in search for more armour and a robe for me. The second floor of this establishment proved to be more useful. Accel managed to find some armour for himself. It costed a bomb to be sure of everything. It was a hundred and fifty Durins for the upper body armour and fifty Durins for the lower body armour. He also paid eighty Durins for the helmet. There we have had the full set of armour purchased for Accel, then it was into me. I had to get a magical robe for boosting my overall stats.
And I did eventually manage to find a deep blue robe which had plus fifty magic and magic resistant as its stat booster. Which was a very rare find indeed. Afterwards, I did have to choose between ten wands. Each of the ten wands were made very intrinsically elaborate and elegantly. Each has its own insignia and designs. The first is a blue wand which gave its bearer the ability to use upgraded water magic. The second is a red wand which gave its bearer the ability to use advanced fire magic plus increase in fire power. The third is a green wand that had its roots in plant magic and increases the dexterity of the user as well. The fourth was a yellow wand with a emphasise on light magic. The fifth wand was a black wand with a emphasise on dark magic and so on. Of course I picked the dark magic wand as it looked the coolest. That was my justification for buying that wand. I would check out both the robe and wand, happy with my purchase we walked out of the store with grins on our faces.
We would also stop by the library which was overflowing with rare magic books. The library was tall with glass panels and doors made out of glistening wood. It was created with such a great atmosphere for reading magic books. It was cosy and brightly lit. The rows of books were easily accessible and there were computer screens to guide you to your desired magic books. It was truly a world class library. I typed in a few words into the system and was immediately presented with a whole host of options. There was magic books on light magic, water magic and even wind magic. I got onto the desk and started to collect the books one by one. Who knows how long we will spend here as this is a treasure trove of a place. There were a dedicated selection of magic books all concentrated in one place. I for one am a sucker for magic books as I have proved in the previous chapters. I dove in head first to read all the magic books while Accel excused himself again. He could not bear having to read through the mundanities of such magic spells. And after all since he was not a magician, this is all rather useless to him. He would rather go to grind out for more Durins or spoils to buy better equipment instead of wasting precious time reading notes at a library. That was where we differ unfortunately, I was a voracious reader while Accel was not a reader at all. He was much more of a doer than a reader. He would go into battle first and then worry about the consequences later. Such was his character.
