Visiting Faye

"Haha, so have you started practising the techniques I taught you?" He asked as he saw Faye approaching from a little to his right, where she seemed to have been practising, as he had guessed, outside instead of inside the mansion.

"Well, I have - in fact, I seem to be an incomparable genius as I was already able to use the Veiled Presence technique quite easily, it seems that I have a high affinity with this technique, as it should be since this technique was created by a princess and is now being used by this princess herself," Faye answered smugly while looking at Thiago seemingly waiting for his acknowledgement.

"That's good, but you know that you have just reached the entry level of this technique and you need to strengthen your understanding so that the technique will have more effect," Thiago explained, and then asked her, "Nevertheless, can you show me your progress now?"

"Yes, I see, well then this lady will show you my progress." Faye acknowledged and then stopped a few metres away from him and seemed to activate her technique, which only took half a second at most, and that was only because she was not yet fully proficient in using this technique, otherwise she would basically need almost no time at all to activate it, just like Thiago with his techniques.

It was then that Thiago noticed that all the aura and mana fluctuations around Faye had become extremely difficult to perceive, and seemed really illusory, as if she did not exist at all.

But that was only when Thiago was not trying to detect them at all, just looking in Faye's direction without using his senses.

There should be two reasons for this - the first is that Thiago's perception is simply too strong and too sensitive, even without actually trying to sense anything at the moment, and the second reason should be that Faye has not yet reached the small achievement stage in this technique, which naturally weakened the effect several times over, resulting in Thiago being able to sense her without even trying, as not all aura and mana fluctuations had been hidden.

Despite all this, Thiago was very happy because Faye had managed to reach this level in her technique in just a few hours, and who knows how long she had actually practised in those few hours.

"Although you have not yet reached the small achievement stage, it is already very good at the moment," Thiago complimented and then continued, "In case you were wondering, I have already reached the human city."

"Huh! Why should I wonder about such a thing? Well, how is the human city and when can I take a look?"

Hearing the first part of her answer, Thiago could not help but chuckle slightly before answering the second part of her question, simply ignoring the first part: "The city is called Half-Moon City and I have to say that it is really prosperous with different food and drinks than we had before and quite nice inside with great buildings, well also poor buildings, anyway what I want to say is that the city is really pleasant." Hearing what Thiago said, and also mentioning food, Faye's eyes lit up, but the light in them faded as soon as Thiago continued: "As for your second question, well, it's a bit difficult because most people really see beasts as enemies and would kill them at every opportunity, so it might be best if you don't visit the city until you've also reached the superior student realm - I'm sorry."

There was a moment of silence before Faye spoke, a little dejectedly: "This lady understands your reasoning."

"Well, that's good, then, since you are, as you said before, an 'incomparable genius', it shouldn't take you long to reach the realm of superior students." Thiago encouraged her, and although he made fun of Faye a bit for praising herself as an incomparable genius, he also meant what he said, as her talent was really quite strong, at least in his opinion, as he could not be completely sure, as he did not have that much contact with other beasts or humans to be able to compare.

But thinking back on how easily and quickly she was able to adapt to the new techniques, Thiago still felt that the talent Faye had shown so far was certainly not the average talent of the world, otherwise it would be a bit unreasonable.

"You're right, with my talent I will be able to advance to the superior student realm in no time at all, humph!" Faye said with a much happier sounding voice than before, where it had been laced with a hint of disappointment because she had learned that she would not be able to visit the city yet, although she should have known that beforehand, as Thiago had also said that long ago.

"Then can you please tell me what you have already experienced in the city and describe the city to me?" Faye asked Thiago curiously, as she was really interested since she had no idea about humans, let alone their cities.

"Yes, of course I'll tell you about it, but let's go to the pool area first because I want to lie down for a while," Thiago replied while he was already on his way to the entrance of the mansion, which opened automatically when it saw him approaching.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

This was, of course, because since he had cultivated his human form, he had also added his human appearance to the Mansion's security system, so that the gate would also open when he was in his human form instead of his beast form.

He had, of course, added Faye's image to the security system as well so that she could enter and leave freely when he was not in his inner world.

As soon as they reached the pool area, Thiago laid himself down on a sun lounger, which seemed a little odd as there was no sun from above and only the light from the lanterns and lights scattered around the grounds of the villa.

Faye, on the other hand, jumped straight into the water, staying a few metres away from where Thiago was lying on the sun lounger so that she could easily listen to what he had to say.

Seeing that Faye seemed eager to listen, Thiago began to tell what happened after she entered the inner world...

"So, starting from where you had left, I walked for a relatively short time until I reached the foot of the mountain, and from there it was only a good twenty minutes until I reached the top of the mountain.

There I unexpectedly met a person gathering herbs, and after a little initial acquaintance, I helped him gather the rest of the herbs he needed, and so I made my first tentative friendship with a human. Oh, and his name is Li Wei."

"Oh, and then what happened? Did he betray you? Did you fight after he backstabbed you after you gathered herbs for him?" Faye interjected, not seeming to see Thiago's lips twitch in anger as he clearly wanted to talk about what happened next, but then he just silently chanted the calming mind sutra that he had to use quite often when talking to Faye, and his state seemed to relax immediately.

Well, obviously the calming mind sutra was just pure nonsense, as Thiago called it when he tried to suppress the aggressive ideas that often came up when talking to Faye - she really knew how to drive him into pure madness.

Well, it was not that much of an exaggeration, but she was certainly able to evoke slight aggressive tendencies in him at times, even if they were not directly directed at her, but rather at the way she was speaking or at this particular interruption.

After a short moment to calm his mind, Thiago continued, answering the questions she had just asked: "Well, he certainly didn't betray me, he didn't backstab me, and we didn't fight either, that's just pure nonsense, so let me continue without interrupting, okay?" Seeing that Faye seemed to understand, he continued where he had stopped before: "After we had collected all the herbs he needed, we went down the mountain on the opposite side from where I had come up, and shortly after we reached the city gate, where Li Wei generously paid for my entry.

Now let me shortly describe the city to you. The city had grand and majestic building many multiple storeys tall, and there was even a massive tower in the middle of the city, but I have no idea what it is used for, yet.

The city is also divided into several districts like poor and rich and so on. Well, I won't go into too much detail for now, as you'll soon be able to see it for yourself and seeing it for yourself is always better than listening to other people's descriptions. Anyway, after entering the city, I have eaten at a tavern with Li Wei where I also killed a few people."

As he suspected, Faye showed no reaction when he mentioned that he had killed a few people, having no idea that this was absolutely forbidden in the city, at least officially, and that his actions amounted to treating human life as grass.

Well, what would you expect, Faye was a tigress that had basically no information about humans at all so how could she differentiate right from wrong in cases that involved humans. But in order for her not to stray from the right path, Thiago hastily explained or rather told a small lie: "These people were evil, under normal circumstances you can't kill people just because you want, do you understand?"

"Yes, only kill humans that are evil, this lady understands." Faye replied which made Thiago heave a sigh of relief as he really did not want to teach Faye some bad moral or such.

This was really quite controversial, as Thiago had obviously killed all the people in that tavern without mercy, even though most of them were certainly not evil, but Thiago himself did not consider himself a completely perfect or righteous person.

Especially after coming to terms with the fact that he was in a cultivation world, his outlook had changed, making him rather indifferent to killing, firstly because he saw it as a foreign world, and secondly because he thought that sometimes killing was necessary.

If he had not killed all those witnesses in the tavern, who knows what might have happened, and maybe even some kind of misfortune would have befallen Thiago, so Thiago's philosophy was to kill when he felt it was necessary or when he would get something out of it.

Obviously, a normal person with high moral standards could not suddenly change his personality and views on killing just by moving to a completely different place.

This transformation certainly had something to do with the fact that perhaps Thiago had never really been a person of high moral standards, as many people actually were, but because they lived in a moral and peaceful society they looked and acted no different from anyone else, but once they were freed from that cage of so-called society they showed their true nature.

Anyway, Thiago's change was not bad at all, it was even quite good and necessary, because if he did not get accustomed to killing, he surely will have a hard time in this world, or at least harder than now.

There are many reasons for this, but one of them is certainly that if you let an enemy live because you are not inclined to kill, that enemy will sometimes later get a great opportunity and take revenge on the person who did not kill him.

So, in order not to leave any so-called hidden dangers behind, as we have just seen in the example, it is necessary to always kill your enemies, or at least in most cases if you cannot get any other benefits from them.

As the saying goes, there are no eternal enemies, only eternal benefits, which means that enemies can turn around and become your partners if the right exchange of benefits is in place. However, this all depends on the grudge you have against an enemy, as a death feud can hardly be settled with benefits.

Returning to Thiago, he talked about finally registering with the guild and then finished his brief account of the day's events, which left Faye quite satisfied as well.

Two flowers bloom, each representing a branch.

While Thiago was telling Faye about his experiences today, in a completely different place, in the Halfmoon Town to be exact, in a certain grand building, a majestic middle-aged man with dark brown hair was sitting on an exquisitely crafted wooden chair, listening to his subordinate's report.

"Master Wang, I received an important information just now, it says that the captain cannot find your nephew,"

Immediately the temperature in the hall dropped significantly and a faint momentum emanated from the man who had been called Master Wang by the subordinate just now.

"What do you mean he can't find him, for what do I pay Captain Hu if he can't even find this useless Nephew of me!" Scolded Master Wang angrily after which he calmed down a little and asked the subordinate: Can't he be located through the artifact he has on him that should be able to also call for help if something happens to him?"

"I'm terribly sorry, but Captain Hu has already sent the information that the artefact cannot be found at all, which can only mean basically one of two things." The subordinate replied, his back seemingly soaking wet as he said the last part of the sentence, but contrary to his expectations, the master didn't get angry as he had expected, but rather seemed indifferent to the possibility that his nephew had died.

"Well, search for every possible clue and tell me his whereabouts, dead or alive, as soon as possible!"

"I want to know who has the guts to do something to my nephew!"
