Fairy #73 blinked as he was brought into existence, giving a small stretch as he tried to understand what this new existence would be like. He experienced within a moment a flood of information that would help him in his new life as a dungeon minion. He was a simple first-ascension-level fairy who was able to cast some rudimentary magic. Within that moment he knew his dungeon was the Red Dungeon, he was a creature auto-spawned from a spawner, and his spawner was part of a fey Lair. The Lair was under the domain of another fey-tagged minion, one whose face was seared into his mind upon spawning.
There was something wrong though, as if upon his birth he knew that there was something that set him apart from the rest of his kin. He looked around at the body that he had been given, trying to see if he had some kind of deformity. There was nothing wrong with him physically, his warm auburn skin impeccable and his leaf-woven shorts the appropriate amount of revealing to be alluring. His body was without weak spots, strong and muscular despite his small size. He had images of the others flashing through his mind, knowing all of their names and understanding what their part in the dungeon was. So why did he not feel the same?
He decided that there was only one way that he could find the answer to his question, and that was to open his screen to see what was different about him. The fairy looked around, making sure that there was no one to see him perform the alien action. An unnamed fairy wasn’t supposed to open their menu, and while he was confident the great mighty Lotus would give him one soon; he couldn’t wait. He brought out his hand and tapped the air, causing a panel of light to shimmer into existence. His naturally occurring theme was gold and obsidian. It was rather sleek, and the white lettering truly made the background pop.

Description: A small flightless humanoid of the fey realm, commonly referred to as a House Brownie. This ground-bound fey finds that it is too dangerous to live out in the open where various common predators could easily get them. So their most common method of protecting themselves is by living within the structures of bigger folk, or at the very least hiding in the boughs of trees. They are not selfish creatures, however, and would never take residence in someone else’s home without paying them back. Mythos of tiny elves repairing shoes or household chores done over night are created by this race of diminutive do-gooders.
So that was what was happening, he was not a fairy. That meant he was a rare summon, something that could only happen after summoning so many fey randomly. #73 was the first of his kind in the Red Dungeon, a Brownie that would be looked up to by all of his kin that followed. If more followed him that is; since Red could easily choose not to summon any more of his kind. He contemplated that for a long moment, silent as he stared at the ground and tried to think of what that could mean for him. He would be alone in the Dungeon for the rest of eternity, never knowing quite how to deal with the fact that he was the only person his size without a pair of wings.
The thought disappeared from his mind as he felt a presence wash over him, an awareness so powerful it seemed like an ocean had suddenly taken notice of a singular clam. He looked up from where he stood on the massive branches of the Alchemical Oak and met the crystalline eyes of the Dungeon Avatar. The crystalline being was godlike but in a kind way. As if some fallen star had decided to look upon him and shine with radiance. A smile crossed the Dungeon’s face, and 73 felt a joy that his short existence did not realize could be there. He wanted to say something, but it felt like his tongue was swollen within his mouth with anxiety.
“Hey there little guy. You’re pretty special. First rare spawn. So that means that I wanted to give you a name instead of Lotus. You’re a brownie, so that means you have more of a connection to the Earth and all that. I think that should mean you get a name that connects you to it as well. Gotta try and keep you, down to earth.” Red said a chuckle escaping his lips as 73 gave a polite smile, not finding the joke particularly funny, but knowing better than to question a divine being.
“Your new name will be Adan. In a language of a faraway land, I knew a few people with this name. They always told mean it meant ‘of the Earth’ in their native tongue. I don’t know if that is true or not, but we certainly need someone down to earth. So, do me proud and get ready for more to join you. I don’t plan on leaving you alone for long.” Red spoke with a smile, waving an arm before the sparkles of empowerment came to Adan. There was hope, and his voice began to appear in the back of his throat as Red released more mana in the nearby area. The form of two more Brownies began to take shape, red mana coalescing to take the humanoid forms. No doubt they would be used for a spawner so that more of their kind could be produced.
Adan looked down at his hands and flexed them, feeling stronger with the name coursing through his mana. He was gifted kindness by his creator and soon would have a family all his own to protect within this dungeon. He owed the dungeon for showing him such kindness and focus despite how insignificant he should have been. He looked up at Red, the ethereal being about to leave before he could get his word in edgewise. “Thank you, kind Dungeon.” He spoke softly to Red, a smile tugging wider at Red’s face before the avatar turned to leave. “You’re welcome, kind Brownie.”
