CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX
Li Feng and Lam Bai leave the museum after almost five hours. Because there were so many people and many more objects on display than in the aquarium, it took much longer to get a look at everything. Using his status as a child, Li Feng also got to touch most of the materials. Now, using his ground magic, Li Feng can recreate any of the ores, minerals, gems, or crystals he touched. However, these creations will only last until his mana fades from them, which happens either when he gets too far, doesn’t imbue them with more mana, or purposefully takes his mana out of the creation.
By the time Li Feng and Lam Bai are back on the streets of Quanchang, it’s just starting to get dark. Their hotel is on the south side of the city, so the two walk in that direction while looking for a place to eat. Twenty minutes later, Li Feng and Lam Bai arrive at the center of the city, the massive hole leading to the bottom of the mine.

Even at the current time, several people are looking over the railing which prevents people from walking over the glass that covers the hole. When Li Feng goes to look inside the hole, he can see lights from the various levels of the mine shining out into the hole. From where he stands, the hole looks like a faintly illuminated staircase to the center of the earth.
“I wonder how deep it is,” Lam Bai says, standing next to Li Feng and getting a better look inside the hole.
“At least a mile,” Li Feng says, pondering the same question.
Instead of further investigating the hole, Li Feng and Lam Bai walk around and continue toward the hotel. It takes them around fifteen minutes to arrive, and they both return to the room. After bathing and going back to their room to sleep, Li Feng and Lam Bai quickly fall asleep.
At least, that’s the case of Lam Bai. Li Feng has other plans.
