CHAPTER ONE
In the city of Shijiang, the Lord of the Li house of cultivators stands next to his wife’s dead body. At the foot of the bed the lady is laying on, a pair of doctors are looking at a baby.
“It’s a boy, healthy and nearly nine pounds,” Says one of the doctors.
“Do you wish to hold him, Lord Wen?” Asks the other doctor.
“Get that piece of trash out of my sight,” The Lord replies, and leave the room, sickened at the thought of holding the child which killed his beloved wife.

“At least give him a name,” The second doctor calls after the Lord.
“Feng,” The Lord says, and vanishes behind a door in the corridor.
“His name is Li Feng,” The second doctor says to the first. “Record the date and time, and then deliver his papers to the head servant. I’m going to get a drink before the tea shops close.”
The second, more experienced doctor leaves, leaving work for the first doctor to complete before he can go home. However, the first doctor is not left alone in the room. Besides himself, there is another entity capable of complex thought.
‘How strange…’ The baby thinks, evaluating his surroundings.
