CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE
Li Feng returns to the hotel and enters through the front door. As far as he knows, nobody followed him or saw his face, and he returns to his room without worrying about having been discovered. Without giving the break-in another thought, Li Feng undresses and goes to sleep in his bed.
The next morning, Lam Bai wakes up before Li Feng and goes to get him breakfast. She takes five hundred coins from the strongbox and exits the room, closing it behind her and locking the door.
When Li Feng wakes up, Lam Bai is still gone. He expected to sleep longer than Lam Bai would, but didn’t think he’d be gone when he woke up. Instead of leaving the room and looking for her, Li Feng goes back to sleep, intending to get a few more minutes of sleep while Lam Bai is gone.

The next time Li Feng wakes up, Lam Bai is still absent. He chooses to stay awake and wait for Lam Bai, sitting on the edge of his bed and cycling his mana until she arrives.
Cycling mana can be done by an experienced magician at all time, meaning Li Feng has been doing it every waking second of his new life, but it can also be focused on for better results. While cycling his mana, Li Feng feels it to be about three times the size it was in his previous life. As he does this, Li Feng completely loses track of time.
At roughly seven thirty in the evening, Li Feng looks out the window of his hotel room to darkening skies. He spent the entire day uninterrupted while cycling mana, and Lam Bai has still not returned.
‘Bai, where are you?’ Li Feng questions as he looks out the window.
