Pursuit of the Immortal Wendigo
As I stepped outside, I was immediately assaulted by the relentless sandstorm. I hastily put on my helmet, securing it tightly to avoid getting any grains of sand in my mouth or eyes. The suit hummed softly as it locked into place, creating a barrier between me and the unforgiving environment. With the air cleared,
As soon as the helmet was fully operational, I contacted Jarvis for the Immortal Wendigo's coordinates. The system beeped, indicating that it had located the creature's whereabouts.
Jarvis provided the necessary information on a map that materialized infront of me. It displayed two markers on the screen: my location and the Immortal Wendigo's location. The map was specific, revealing that the creature was in the mountains, a considerable distance away from the Hollywood Hills.
As I ignited my thrusters, I glanced around and noticed something unusual. A strange creature caught my eye; it looked like a cat with horns, an unusual sight in this inhospitable environment. It was sat in one place in the distance, its long, pointed face pointed straight at me.
The cat-like creature startled me, I swiveled my head to where the creature was, but it had vanished without a trace. I shook my head and told myself that it must have been my imagination.
I wasn't sure if it was a hallucination or if it was genuinely there.
I had never seen anything like it before, it had such odd shaped looking head its body was hard to see in completion due to thick sand all around settling down. And As much as I wanted to investigate I had more Important things to do, I hoped it was just a mirage brought on by the harsh conditions and not real.
I figured it must have scampered off somewhere and decided to focus on more pressing matters than taking in the sight of a single cat. However, a nagging feeling persisted within me about the cat's odd appearance.
I couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something peculiar about that cat. So, I turned to Jarvis, my trusty AI assistant, and asked, "Jarvis, can you show me the picture of that cat just now?"
"Sir, Cat?" Jarvis asked incredulously.
"Yea, the cat that was over there right now," I replied, pointing to the exact spot where I had seen it. "I looked at it for a split second, so the camera on the suit must have captured it. It was standing right over there just a second ago."
"Sir... There is no such cat there. It was just sand," Jarvis said, displaying an image of the location where I had spotted the cat. The picture showed nothing but sand, with a slightly odd shape and if one were to look closer but there was no cat in sight, which weirded me out.
"Am I hallucinating or something? Jarvis, are my health signs alright?" I asked, feeling a slight increase in my heartbeat.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
"Sir, other than a slight increase in heartbeat, everything else is normal."
"What!?... That's so weird..." I muttered, looking at the picture and then back at the place where I had seen the cat, finding nothing. I refocused my attention on the map and prepared to move on.
Activating my thrusters, I felt a surge of adrenaline as I propelled through the sand. I could hear the gritty particles clattering against my armor as I soared through the air, but I knew I was safe inside it.
I headed straight towards the location marked on the map, determined to find and retrieve the Immortal Wendigo forgetting about the odd event that just took place.
The journey was long, but I covered the distance in just 20 minutes, thanks to my suit's fastest speed.
As I arrived at a cave nestled high in the mountains, I hovered in the air and surveyed the area. My tracker indicated that this was the monster's location, so I began to descend and land on the ground right infront of the mouth of the cave, ready to retrieve the Immortal Wendigo and ready for a fight if needed.
As I landed on the ground, I activated the night vision on my mask, and suddenly everything was crystal clear. The dimly lit tunnel ahead of me beckoned, and I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the journey ahead. I stepped forward, my armour flanked in stone floor echoing loudly against the rocky walls, and walked deeper into the cave.
As I ventured deeper into the cave, the silence was deafening, and my heart began to race with anticipation wondering whether I will have to fight the Wendigo again. The tunnel split into two paths, and I looked down at the map, feeling a twinge of nervousness. According to the map, the Immortal Wendigo was lurking in the right tunnel. I hesitated for a moment, taking a deep breath, before making my decision. I activated my thrusters in case and teo missiles from my should appeared as I strode towards the right tunnel, feeling a sense of anticipation growing within me.
The moment I stepped into the right tunnel, the temperature plummeted, and my heart skipped a beat. My hands trembled, and a cold sweat broke out on my forehead. I felt a sudden gust of wind whip through the tunnel, and an overwhelming sense of dread washed over me. My instincts were screaming at me to turn back, warning me of the danger that lay ahead. I glanced over my shoulder at the entrance, only to find that it had disappeared, leaving me trapped in this icy, foreboding tunnel, I suddenly heard a cackle coming from within the depths of the cave, it sounded like a jackals cackle, as if the sound was becoming me to walk forwards.
I felt this compulsion which I couldnt stop as my feet moved slowly as I strode forwards towards cackling.
(Wednesday Pov)
Wednesday let out an exasperated sigh as James hurriedly shut the door and left the room. She turned her attention to his family, who were anxiously waiting for an explanation. Claire, James' mother, began to make her way towards the door, but Wednesday stopped her with a sense of urgency in her voice. "Please, don't go outside just yet," she warned, "the storm may have stopped, but the dust is still swirling around everywhere. James left me in charge of explaining the Armor to you, so I would appreciate it if you could sit down here with the rest of the family."
Wednesday watched as Claire reluctantly sat down on the sofa with the rest of the family, eyeing Wednesday with a mix of confusion and apprehension.
Wednesday took a deep breath and began to explain the situation to them, her voice calm and steady despite the tension in the air.
She spoke about the dangers that awaited them outside and how the Armor could protect James, her words measured and concise.
The family listened intently, hanging on every word, their expressions shifting from fear to hope as they heard about the story of James building the Armour and his fight against the Immortal Wendigo.
