(A/N: Yay the start of the MCU, though I personally believe captain marvel should be the first everyone else agrees it’s Iron-man. Iron-man is one of those films that marvel could have just left it there and not created the MCU and it would still be a film I watch at least once a year, but I am so glad they didn’t otherwise I wouldn’t be making this now would I.)
[Kunar Province, Afghanistan – February 2008]
Tony breaks the stale atmosphere with his usual comedic attitude, while holding a glass of whiskey. Soon everyone inside the cab is asking him questions. I can hear black as black blearing through the speakers of a mobile phone while tony is taking a selfie with one of the soldiers. I forgot that Tony’s EQ is almost as high as his IQ.
If only I didn’t hate his guts. If it wasn’t for the fact that I needed him alive I would covertly launch a missile in the attack and vaporize him instantly. I could always just assassinate him after I reveal myself that way it wouldn’t matter since the timeline would have gone wonky anyway.
I hear the boom the Humvee in the front going up in smoke and the gunfire after that. I really want smartphones to come along so I can watch everything I want. I not the bad guy after all.
“Wait, give me a gun.” Shouts tony soon after he leaves the Humvee is destroyed and I lose signal. I could try getting into Tony’s but that would risk letting Jarvis know of my existence.
Yeah, while Jarvis may not seem that powerful. For what he is he scares me immensely, once again showing that even with more money and future knowledge Tony Stark is far more intelligent than me. I mean I’ve been working on AI for the last ten years and absolutely nothing is working.
And it’s not like I can just jump into starks servers anymore because Jarvis is currently residing in them.
[A few days later…]
“How’s the short selling of Stark Industries coming along?” I ask Simon.
Support the author by searching for the original publication of this novel.
“Coming along fine we made a few hundred million off it.” He replied with a grin plastered on his avatar. I was glad because more money always meant more money. We were also preparing for when stark announced his exit of the arms industry, but instead of short selling we intended to buy as much stock as possible at the cheapest price.
I also considered sending in a Pack to rescue Ho Yinsen before he dies but decided against it because he had made peace with his death and only wished Tony not to waste his life. As someone who possesses the memories of Human Mike who had accepted his death Mike knew what it meant to die in peace and he wouldn’t take that away from Yinsen.
As I found out about Tony’s escape as he was being airlifted out of the desert, I swore to myself about the fact that he had not only built a reactor in the middle of the desert but also somehow survived the fall which would kill any other human. I call comic book logic there.
[Silicon Valley, California]
“Hey, would it be alright if everyone just sat down…” Tony asked while gesturing for all the reporters to sit down with him while he was slumped against the podium with a cheeseburger in his broken arm.
After swallowing a bite of the burger, he fondly greets Stane, who greets him back while they both say something inaudible. He then turns to the press and states. “I never got to say goodbye to my father. There were questions that I would ask him. About…how he felt about what his company did? I’d ask him if he ever had doubts… Or maybe he was every inch the man we knew from the news reals…”
I watched it all through the news cameras as the crowd went wild over the announcement. I thought about what tony had said and to most it would seem as though his father was a cold calculating man, only I who had seen what he was like when he was younger knew what he was actually like.
An exact copy of tony…
[A few weeks later…]
Watching the fight between Tony and Stane is pretty fun to watch. I have a few drone circling around so I can record this moment for austerity.
I wonder how tony would fair against Magento. Then again magneto always came across as stupid. But you can’t really fault someone whose gone through what he has.
Back to the fight I chuckle as I see Stane annihilated by the Arc-Reactor. However, as much as Stane was a scum bag. I do agree with one of his final statements, “There are so many applications for short term paralysis.”
[A few days later…]
“The Truth is…I am Iron Man.”
I just shake my head at that statement. While I understand why tony is saying it as well as why he is stopping the production of weapons, I would have kept producing weapons but just making sure they only went to the right place and as for iron man. Well, plausible deniability is something you can never have enough of.
