Penny was on the verge of success in many of her projects, but there was a slight problem. Today’s energy technology was insufficient for anything she had stolen that required energy to power it. And all the power sources she stole with the tech didn’t have blueprints to them and would take months to study and reverse engineer even if she had the most sophisticated equipment available on the market, which she didn’t, so she again had to resort to stealing from some other dimension.
-A.I.C.A. Have the AI’s scan every visual media for advanced scanning equipment that can provide blueprints and a more sophisticated fabricator. Prioritize energy efficiency and the possibility for it to work in this dimension.-“And while they are busy with that, I will jump back to the Big Hero 6 universe to borrow some blueprints.”
Penny was again doing research, but this time not on the movie, but the series. She memorized the look and layout of
Alistair Krei’s office and were he kept all his secrets, followed by a quick glance back at the garage lab, the university and the secret bases. Now she just needed to jump in one of the latest episodes while Krei was out of his office and steal the entirety of his database with her infiltration AI. Or as it turned out using his personal password. Then she had to match her timing for when the heroes were busy to infiltrate the other labs. But why am I telling you what she had to do instead of doing it? I am losing my touch. Penny downloaded the episode she needed, because if she didn’t she could change the server file that was used for streaming and everyone would be seeing the modified version. And that just wasn’t very nice, unlike stealing from fictional universes. When the download was finished she dimension traveled to the episode.
Penny arrived into Krei Tech moment before Hiro Hamada infiltrated it and teleported into the office of Krei. She quickly entered the password that was taped to the monitor and downloaded the entire database onto a pre-prepared SSD. It took a while to finish the download, but it did finish before Hiro entered the office. She locked the computer again and then teleported into the garage lab. She copied the data from all, but avoiding the one that had shorted previously in the episode. Then she just waited for the robot revolution to start. When it did, she moved to the secret base of the villain and copied their database, including the schematics for the android body the AI was inhabiting. And then she waited again for the big hulking robot to show up and then teleported into the heroes’ secret base and repeated everything again. Now she had a lot of inventions in her hands both feasible and impossible, but there was still one more thing to do. She teleported to the university and all their courses and every project and thesis she could find. It was time to learn some advanced knowledge not from studying their tech, but their education. Everything done, Penny teleported home to begin working through her acquisitions.
-A.I.C.A. I am home. What did you find for me?-
-Hello, Penny. We were able to find quite a few items matching your description, but the ones that fit the parameters the best are a scanner and builder from a game called Subnautica. The gamer AI’s have already acquired the items and made a save point at a safe location.-
-Thank you, A.I.C.A., I will go and take a look. Meanwhile go through this SSD and sort all the blueprints with the other AI’s. First I want the ones that will work with this dimensions physics laws, next I want the ones that could work and finally the ones that are outside the realm of possibility. And if the plans for the android body are possible I want you to design a body for yourself with non-lethal bodyguard capabilities and include the scanning capabilities from other projects. You are going to operate as my personal assistant and bodyguard when I go out for business.-
Penny went to the DTR and loaded the save files from Subnautica and then teleported and collected the scanner and fabricator and then teleported into her lab to install the new equipment. Now she could scan every piece of technology in her possession and receive the blueprints for their construction and then construct them with the builder’s capabilities. The first thing she scanned were all the power sources in her possession then compared them to all power sources in her database and selected the ones that had the most power and made from not too exotic materials. Next she went to the holographic monitor and started designing a toy robot with the blueprints for Minimax as guidance. She put the medical scanner and cameras from Baymax, the new batteries and finally it was time to design a new AI for the little toy.
“Years ago there were tamagotchi and furby toys that turned into the biggest fads at the time. Let’s hope this thing turns into one just as big.”
-A.I.C.A. help me with a new AI for my newest project. I need it to have learning capabilities but not be complete from the start. For the first three months of acquisition the AI will need to be fed daily with data and according to the fed data the AI will develop different personality. Of course we can’t forget Asimov’s laws of robotics, can’t have the new AI’s have negative personalities. They will be children’s companions after all. They will bond with their child and keep them safe and healthy. This will be the most advanced robot in the world and no one will know it, because we will market it as a children’s toy. Ha ha ha ha ha. I almost sound like a villain in a cartoon. Once we program the AI, we have to market the product to some toy companies. I also have to design different body shapes for the robots. Humanoid, dog and cat forms, bear form and some other animals. I will have to transport then reprogram some machines from the Assembly Line app then enchant them and make them produce the toys 24/7. But when we are done we will be rich and ready to start our defense contract work.-

And like that Penny and her AIs started working on her projects. First the robot, then she repurposed some tech, perfected it and integrated it into other projects. The army’s suit received underclothes from nano-dex that increased the strength of the wearer, and not the way Hiro had done it. The stronger the muscles of the soldier flexed the more power was coaxed from the smart fabric. There wasn’t going to be accidental destruction of property or being stuck in it without being able to remove the cloth. Then there was the body for A.I.C.A. that she designed. The body was Trina’s with all scanning equipment from Baymax, prediction algorithm from Noodle Burger Boy plus lie detection program and the numerous fighting styles she programed into a chip ready to insert into the body. She also fabricated a pair of web shooters with the one hour fluid formula as a default ammunition. With the information from the databases of two worlds she also made an elegant pair of glasses with augmented reality, virtual reality and scanning capabilities with a direct link to her AI network for analysis and processing of all the data she was getting. They also had micro hyperspectral cameras. She was so busy working on her projects that she didn’t even register when the end of the week came and went without her pulling a prank for her patron. What she didn’t know was that Prankstein counted her global hack of all networks as a big prank and was going to leave her be for the whole month. But what she didn’t know, couldn’t prevent her from pranking people every week even if it wasn’t needed. When she had all her projects constructed she put them through rigorous testing and optimization to remove all the kinks and bugs in their systems. There was no way she was repeating the rookie mistake of inventing something and deploying it without testing.
It was Friday again and Penny found herself in the patent office again with a ton of new patents to submit, some of which she was planning on selling. There was all the robot technology, new sensors, battery technology even the robot toy’s AI, which was probably the closest to current day’s cutting edge. She applied for patents to the likeness of her toys and on the app she developed with her AI assistant, who was standing right there beside her in the new body. She had the look of an office lady or sexy secretary in her mid to late twenties and was wearing a professional looking, bulletproof pant suit with the vest and tie to complete the look. So what else did Penny submit for patent? There was a new method for producing graphene and bonding multiple layers, the nano-dex micro compression circuitry, but she gave them another name CM-v1.0 standing for cloth muscle version 1.0. She submitted a delivery system for the web fluids she had filed previously, which was sufficiently different from all marvel depictions of web shooters so not to be sued. There were patents for microelectronics components she used for her glasses and the plans for the glasses themselves. She also submitted plans for a drone armed with web shooters and new targeting system she made, that she planned to sell to the police or the military, but hasn’t decided which yet. And finally the TBRES, Tactical Bullet Resistant Enhancement Suit.
The next place Penny visited was actually a music production studio. They were interested in her app when they had talked over the phone, so she was planning to sell them the patents for the code and likeness of the app. She had her assistant draw the needed documents and after lengthy discussions both parties signed them. And of course I am sure that is not how things work in the real world, but I am lazy and want to just be done with that part of the story. After signing the contract with the music company, Penny went to meet the representatives of a couple of toy companies that were interested in her toys and wanted to discuss the finer details face to face.
-Miss Ankster, a pleasure to meet you. Your product has piqued our interest from the documents your assistant send to us. We would like to ask you a few questions and then we can sign some papers.-
-Please. The pleasure is all mine. I have to say I am surprised you contacted us so soon after we sent you the data for our toys. So what can I tell you so we can proceed?-
-According to the data we received the functionality of your robot toys compare or even exceed that of some in the 1000 to 3000 dollar range, but you are proposing to sell them to us for 199.99 dollars a piece. How is that possible?-
-I am glad you asked that. Things stand like this. The toys we build are the by-product of some advanced robotics research that we were conducting. All the R&D costs were covered from that project. We also have a sophisticated production line that is optimized for efficiency and reducing costs. We are almost selling you these toys at production costs, but we really want to see these toys making children happy and seeing to what heights we can bring the AI when learning from kids.-
-That is another thing we found interesting. You are talking about learning artificial intelligence, and not just pre-programed robot. What are its capabilities and what can we expect as it learns?-
-Now even though we are talking about AI, we are still at the level of a very intelligent and well trained dog. It will be able to understand instructions and learn new tricks, identify treats to its owner and play games like a regular dog, but it also has things only a robot pet can do like giving access to the camera eyes to parents and babysitters. I am sure you will learn all you need to know when we submit the first batch of toys for testing. We made them safe, but they need to be certified.-
-I see. Well then, if everything works out, we can sign a contract for the initial order and see where we take it from there.-
With this Penny contacted an accredited third party testing lab and submitted the first batch of her toys for testing. After that she met with another toy company representative and had almost the same conversation about her robot toys. She still wasn’t sure to which company to sell or if she could sell her product to both, because The Author had a hard time researching the subject. But with that task finished, she only needed to wait for the results of the testing and soon would have the money she needed. If the toys sold that is. Penny went home and took a well-deserved rest. It was good to relax and not think about anything for a little while.
