Penny teleported home for the second time today… she looked at the wall clock in the living room which showed 3 o’clock or, the first time today. She felt exhausted both mentally and physically. Spending hour’s teleporting and walking into the wilderness was very taxing for someone who spent their days working in a lab and an office. Her clothes were covered in dirt, her hair had leaves and twigs in it and she was scratched on every place with exposed skin. Also for some reason she was still holding onto the cushion, mainly because The Author forgot about it. Penny shambled and groaned like a zombie while undressing and throwing her clothes and the cushion around the room until she found herself in the shower. After half an hour she felt like a new woman, clean and rejuvenated and went to sleep while going over the events of the day.
The next morning came all too soon and the alarm clock woke the zombie, groaning and moaning it shambled to get clothes, go to the bathroom and brush its teeth. Only after the morning coffee did the zombie start producing human sounds and moving like a normal woman. Was there a cure for the zombie virus? Wait, wait, wait, where am I going with this? Forget the entirety of the morning. She woke up, did her business drank her coffee and out of habit went to work on her normal route, instead of teleporting in the stalls of the women’s bathroom at work, because her morning brain was still addled from lack of sleep.
When she got to work everything proceeded like any normal day. She modified the prototypes with different cloth covers and then stress tested each and every one. Penny was so immersed into her work that she did not register how fast she was processing the information of the test, modifying the prototypes again and moving onto other tests. By lunch time she had done 2/3 of her work for the day. When she was done assessing that the prototypes were stable and was signing off on them to be tested for the rest of the week, it was only 3 o’clock in the afternoon, so she decided to take a nap. Why was she so tired? If only she could stop thinking about work for five minutes, maybe she could remember.
Late at night, after a mountain of paperwork was done, penny walked back to her apartment and at the sight of her dirty clothes all around the living room she remembered. She had traveled through dimensions yesterday and met with gods, but that memory only made her sigh with exhaustion. She definitely had to come with a plan to ease her workload after the product launch next week. So for now she sat down in a chair in her office and started planning.
“First, according to the spell for traveling into fictional worlds, at least 5 million people have to know about them for me to be able to visit them. That means I have to research sci-fi materials on the internet and choose which ones to visit.
Second, it is possible to visit a certain scene, so I have to know where and when the thing I want to steal appears and when it is least guarded.
Third, if I am there, even if a character leaves the scene, for me it continues playing, so I will have the timing of my heists.
And fourth, I will have to decide what I actually want to steal and how to do it. I can’t simply steal Tony Stark’s natural-language user interface and stick it in a notebook. What reader do I even need for them to interact with a computer from this world? Also was F.R.I.D.A.Y. an artificial intelligence, or just a new personality for one? So much research, so much more work. ‘Groan’”
Penny slid her chair to the computer and visited the major sites selling DVDs then narrowed her search to sci-fi and started buying the ones she remembering hearing about. Star Trek all box sets, Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series, Minority Report, Avatar, Robocop all movies, Wall-E in case there is something working in the garbage heaps. All terminator movies and series, Ready Player One and even Chuck, because she had heard somewhere, from someone, that there were computers there that can hack anything in the world. All of that done, she could either go to bed and catch up on some sleep, or try one easy burglary for practice. She went to the living room, searched her collection and pulled out the DVD for Big Hero 6. She was part of a project involving a design with characters from the movie, and even though they gave them all the information and models they would need for it, she had bought the DVD for further research. Now she was glad she did. Penny put the disk in the player, turned the TV on and let it play, while she started constructing a pocket dimension. She constructed the spell and slowly started pumping magic in it until she had a stable 2x2x2 meters or 6.56 x 6.56 x 6.56 feet dimension. Next she cast selective invisibility on herself and fast forwarded the movie to the 44 minute mark then at 44:18 she paused and traveled into the movie.

Penny appeared before the garage lab’s door and immediately stepped back, because it was being opened in front of her. Two figures stood in the light from the garage, Hiro Hamada and Baymax, but they didn’t linger and departed immediately. Getting the opportunity to peek inside the garage when it opened she used the memory to teleport inside and quickly got to work. The lab was a treasure trove of technology that could help designers work faster and easier. She first swiped the handheld 3D scanner used to scan Baymax’s body for his armor measurements and tossed it into the pocket dimension. Next followed the 3D printer, virtual monitor, 3 normal monitors, all computers and computer equipment and for good measure all robot parts lying around. She even took the cutting machine and all the tool boxes and parts cabinets and tossed them in the pocket dimension. Now came the moment of truth. Could she teleport back into her dimension and would all equipment transform from animated to real? The spell was constructed and then executed without delay. The transfer was successful and she was again in her living room standing in front of the TV. The movie was un-paused and everything was going as it should, until the heroes returned to the garage lab to find it completely empty without a shred of technology to be found. There was panic followed by speculation followed to the conclusion they had been robbed by a random burglar. Everything was replaced with a little help from Fred and the story was back on track with just a little delay. Now that she saw how her interference impacted the fictional universe she visited, it was time to verify her loot functioned as intended even in this dimension. When she took out the two computers, at least that is how many I counted in the movie, they looked like the rest of her equipment. The tree normal and one virtual monitors were set up with the rest of the periphery and then everything was turned on. There was thankfully no protection on any of the computers, the programs were paid and never needed payment renewal, because otherwise I was going to have to write a whole other chapter about her acquiring technology to hack this technology and everything was going to become convoluted. Now all she needed was a bigger space to dump all other technology from her pocket dimension and a project to use it all on, but that could wait. She was exhausted and was going to bed.
The rest of the week wasn’t as hectic as the previous ones, having done the majority of the work needed on the project, so she found herself with a lot of free time. Penny used it up experimenting how fast she could learn new things. She could comprehend things three times faster than before and with having a hard time forgetting thing, she could read pages with merely a glance. She also made faster connections between information she had previously memorized, coming with new ideas as soon as she came up with a problem. Maybe with all her new abilities and access to technology it was time for her to stop being a freelance designer and become a researcher. The Idea was to study or find a technology to transfer knowledge in her mind and complete a few more university degrees. Maybe even one or two doctorates, and then open a private lab. The plan still had a few moving and interchangeable parts, but it was becoming more solid the more she thought on it. At the end of the week when the project was finished and her contract expired, she would pull the next prank for her payment and then seriously plan her future. She could hardly wait.
