Phila Gets the Good Part of the Plan

Phila Gets the Good Part of the Plan

“If they ever find us, we’re surely dead,” said Phila, taking the form of Mrs. Osteler. She walked up to the man running the magical items safe.

“Excuse me, I need to borrow several items for demonstrational purposes in my class,” said Phila. The man raised an eyebrow. Terrence blinked out of view and stepped behind the man.

“Yes, I teach a class on how Empowered Items are used,” said Phila. “And I need to use some for my class.”

“What is your authorization code?” said the man. Terrence peered from behind the desk and looked at all the passcodes written down.

“Excuse me? Why do you want my authorization code? You are probably going to use it to do something bad and get away with it,” yelled Phila.

“Ma’am, I’m sorry, but I can’t let you use any items without your code,” said the man.

“The objects I need aren’t life threatening,” said Phila. “I just need the floating wagon.”

“Oh, you don’t need authorization for that object,” said the man. “Here, let me get it for you.” The man opened the safe and pulled out a giant wagon. Terrence quickly snatched a whole bunch of invisibility hats and other magical items before slinking off.

“Have fun in class!” he told Phila.

“Oh, I will,” she replied as she carried the wagon to the front entrance to meet the rest of them. Suddenly, another teacher approached Phila.

“Oh Margaret, there’s another student missing. Did you interview your set of students yet?” asked the other teacher.

“Um, yes,” she told him.

“Did you figure out the murderer?” the teacher asked.

“It was that psychic boy Chad,” said Phila, improvising on the spot. “He killed them.” The teacher walked away.

“He will be taken care of,” said the teacher sullenly. Everyone looked at Phila.

“I had to improvise. Gosh!” said Phila. “Hide.” Everyone put their invisibility item that Terrence had stolen on as Frida and Zura passed them.

“I don’t understand,” said Zura. “Who is killing our group?”

“A rather unfortunate accident it was,” said Friday slyly. “At least someone else took out Dian for us…”

“Someone else? You didn’t-” started Zura as Frida stabbed her with an icicle in the head. She put on another coat of lipstick and licked her lips. She vanished into thin air. As she grabbed the body of Zura, it disappeared as well.

“Terrence,” whispered Nadia. “You can see invisibility. Follow them.”

“I thought we were getting out of here,” whispered Oma.

“Not without Dian,” said Nadia. “Phila, you and Oma place all the objects we need outside, and hide them. Terrence is following Frida, and the rest of us need to go get Sahara.”

“Right,” said Phila remembering when she dumped pudding on Frida’s head. “I always get the dumb job.”
